I love the All Labs strategy, but...

Is THIS supposed to be POSSIBLE?

Unfortunately, this was in the course of just barely trying out TA/b2, since I had to be away from the game for a couple months, and the scenario settings are ludicrous (really easy - maybe cakewalk, one opponent, and I don't think I spent any start-up ability points.) I was just going to look things over, look at the tech tree, etc. Now I REALLY wish I could play this out. I might try it anyway.

That is fraking awesome!!! I have never seen that before. Oh well no second guesses for where your tech capital is going...but yes two on one planet is a bit too much. Though i would hazard a guess at that is the first time this has happened, at least that i have heard of.

As I said, unfortunately the pure investigation game/scenario set up I used is so poor as to make the game completely unsatisfying. But BOY, if I could just save the galaxy/planet start and reset the gamr for real play...

Ok, this is getting a little rediculous now.

The following screen shot is from a game start 3 starts later than the previous. One of the starts in-between actually had 3Precursor Mines, but I flubbed the screenshot.



Much as I'd like to think that I am GalCiv's own pooka, no mere mortal is this lucky.

Obviously you must fix this very serious anomaly for everyone (else) right away. I however, am willing to play using the flawed code for an indefinite period to assist in whatever way I can to trace the origin of the problem. 6-7 months should be sufficient.

Yeah, while I would LOVE to start off with worlds such as these, it does seem to make for a unfair/unsatisfying start.

We'll look into the code, but, in the meantime, anybody else get blessed with one of these bonus-rich starting worlds?

I tried ~10 starts with large and small galaxies and didn't get a single 700%. The bonus tiles distribution felt just like normal. I used he TA beta 0.85[b].002

But if I got it I would not be unsatisfied!

I got "only" one presursor thingy on my homeworld for the tournament plus a few more goodies. But then I didn't restart. Ithought it was the tournie setting.

Only six times did I ever get a homeworld with a 700% bonus in the last two years. But only two times of the six that I had two 700% bonuses. One with two mines and other with one of each. OMG back then I was a noob and didn't realise what I had but now. AHHHG! Well I can always hope for the best. LIKE MY NEXT GAME COME ON!!!

Unlike you voracious alien carnivores, I have better uses for precious human resources. After all, with a start like this, the game will be over quickly and then I will be looking for a way to celebrate.

Ok, its not quite as good as the first one (one less 100% rsch tile), but the Blue Fairy has granted my wish again, Gepetto.

This time I was ready with a decent "Let's play Masochistic" set-up, so...see you guys later. Now, if only the Metaverse were enabled.

(this one was about 8 starts after the last Super Industrial start.)

I never seen more than four 700% tiles in any game of mine, let alone on the same planet...And that's with 900+ planets for some of them. Never any on a homeworld.

Hmmm i thought i got lucky with one Precursor mine on my homeworld! Looks like i am going to have to CTRL+N me a few times then

Man i just tried CTRL+N dozens of times and not got a single 700%! What exact settings/picks are you using so we can see if its a set up issue. Start from the first page onwards please.

I think this is not so much a situation of getting more special tiles on home worlds as much as it is simply a situation of more special tiles in general. I don't see many games with special tiles on my home world, but I have seen more of the +300% and +700% tiles than I remember seeing in DA. But I thought there was some mention of that in some changelog somewhere...? Can't recall anymore....

I've noticed an increase since 1.80 (I think - I don't play as much as I'd like, and always seem to be a version or two behind   ). I played the campaign over the weekend and the Thalans had one of each 700% bonus on their homeworld on the last mission, so it's not just Twilight that's doing this.

I occasionally get really good starting worlds even in DA/DL with 4 bonus tiles, but never more than two bonuses in the same category, like one of the screens above.

I probably should have specified that all of the starts where this happened were Immense, everything a rare / slow as possible, as the Terrans. The later occurrances wer on Maso, but I think that was probably irrelavent; it just shows that it can occur at both low and high settings.
