MVL Round 4 Draft and Discussion

Lets move on with what is sure to be the best round yet!!!

Hi guys,

Just thought we would move all round 4 discussions here, so no need to troll across three or four threads to find out whats going on.

For those that do not know we are going to have a draft this round. The five teams will get two (2) draft picks each, and beyond that i will randomly place the rest of the teams as i did prior to round 1.

The draft will take place in reverse order of the league ladder,

Team E
Team A
Team B
Team D
Team C

The only players not included in the draft is the 5 captains, as they will do the picking of players. That being said i need to appoint a captain to team e, and since this was discussed i will delay no further.

Silverbeacher is the captain of team e.

The team captains are,

Team A = Dethadder (2nd)
Team B = MarshallOneill (3rd)
Team C = Firebender (5th)
Team D = Kzinti (4th)
Team E = Silverbeacher (1st)

These players are exempt from the draft.

So if we can get on with it, Silver make your first draft pick, then follow on in order guys. I will record the teams as we go.

Once the draft is complete and the teams assigned, i will update this OP with the new teams, also once draft is complete continue on with out discussions here please, it will so much easier than having to check 3 threads.

Thanks guys, i really believe that round 4 will be (mind the cliche) bigger and better than the others!!!!

I was hoping so....i shouldn't hold my breath though.

As soon as the draft is done guys i will do the rest of the teams and post the round 4 info, provided the issue at hand in the MVL Rulebook thread is satisfied.

Ok here is how it stands,

Team E (picked MottiKhan)
Team A (picked MumbleFratz)
Team B (picked Drengin)

Just to clear it up I'll give my understanding of it:

All the players(except captains) are lined up and the captains get to pick anyone that hasn't already been picked. If this is the case, I believe I'm at a huge disadvantage!

This isn't all that different from how we pick football teams but there are only two captains there.

How so? There are more than quite a few players whom i would pick if i was captain. There is certainly more than 3 as to leave you an agonizing decsion on who to pick.

This way, and if we continue to do it this way for future "seasons" everyone will get a chance to play in a dominant or winning team, and i am sure there a few people who will spring a surprise or two with their scoring.

Is there a list of players somewhere so the captains can see all the people in the current round and make their choices? I'd like to see everyone who is playing too.

Hi fellow leaguer's. During round three we have had many new players sign up for the league. In my absence i may have missed more than 1 sign up. I will list all players that i am aware of that are playing round 4.

Good idea Kzinti, i will update the OP with all the players from round 3 minus Xei Win Toh and the captains.

On another note, i have not heard from Shadoworrior, and the draft has stalled due to his absence. We may need another representative from Team D to take over as captain so we can move along... Is there one here, and more to the point is this fair to do.

I do not wish to step on Shadows toes at all, but we do need to get a move on with this....

Edit - Silverbeacher pmed me and informed me he may be without net for a couple of days so he sent me his next draft choice with some backups. If the need arises i will post the entire pm for all to see.

I guess you'll have to discern a proper amount of wait time, but a couple of days I hope would suffice. Thing is if you must do this, does that then send Shadow into the pool of players or does Team C just have two and get one less in your random placing at the end?

ahh Crap Double Post. Kryo help! but get rid of the other one as I was trying to edit the Team C to a D and this one is correct

If it was to happen i guess Shadow would revert to the player pool, and the newly elected captain finish the draft picks. If that team wish to swap back captains after that i certainly wont care.

Kzinti, since you are the only member of Team D active atm, when and if we need someone to make the draft picks for team D, would you like to take over as captain?

As good a solution as any. Another 12 hours of waiting isn't too long to wait and that would be about 48 hours since the last pick was made and 24 hours after Shadow's absence was noted in this thread. That is certainly a very reasonable time to wait before taking action.

Perhaps the best way is to simply have whoever first shows up back in this thread between ShadowWorrior or KzintiPatriarch make the pick for team D. This is just a suggestion that should be confirmed by neilo before being assumed to be correct.

I'm happy with this. Whoever turns up first please make a draft pick. For others reading, whomever does not make that pick is in the player pool.

We really need round 4 to kick off, as there are a number of players who have not posted recently and the best way to ensure we keep them is to get round 4 up and running.

I'm willing to be the captain of Team D, but I want to look over the available players first, so I can make an informed choice. I'm at "work", and also have some D&D stuff to work on before my Wednesday gaming group meets today. How about if ShadowWorrior shows up before I make a pick, keep him as captain, and if I pick first I'll be the captain?
