Ok, Piznit first. You may play as many games and submit as many games as you like. Once though you have directed me to look at a certain game in the results thread, then that is it. So play as many as you want, but when you are happy post the character and game details in the results thread and that will be the game counted.

TP Scot, i take no offence at all at your query. And it is a valid point. I don't select the games by going down a list or anything. I have assigned each variable a number and with the use of a random number generator i simple go through the list and input the number range and viola, a purely random selection.

By that token though, if there are others who also feel that me playing is a conflict with my commissioner duties, please speak up, i would happily sit out playing if it would help the league in anyway.

It's good to see the "establishment" questioned, it means that things are healthy.

I didnt mean it like that. I did not mean that you should not play I meant having truly random games. Since you have a truly random game generating system. I have no problem at all.

I want to add a suggestion about picking the settings while were on that subject. I mentioned this elsewhere but it doesn't hurt to repeat it.

I don't think it's a good idea to allow any of the settings of the game be left to random. For example this rounds game has random number of planets. That means that some folks will get lucky and have a lot of planets and so their score will be higher.

Certainly selecting the setting randomly is a good idea. However leaving random as one of the selections left up to the game is not.

I think we are sorted on this issue now, but for those that missed it in the other thread, all settings are as they were for this round. For the next challenge and beyond i will take Random anything out of my random generator. Meaning that no setting in galciv will be random, to much variation between the players.

Like we said, there was always going to be kinks to be worked out this time around, but i think we are well on the way to being a success, though a small at the moment but a success nonetheless.

One rule I would like to see change/clarify, regarding bonus points. I think bonus points should only apply to games that follow the correct victory condition. For example, in the current round, one could forgo the tech victory, and submit a military victory. They would only get 1 point for victory of incorrect type, but due to differences in scoring it would give them a much higher score and possibly 3 bonus points. By saying bonus points only apply to games wone the correct way, it will eliminate this issue.

It does answer part of the question. But will we know the other people's scores? Or only the commissioner ( score keeper ). Like will I be able to look at an updated list and say, "Ok theres the score I have to beat". Or will it all be revealed at the end of the month?

EDIT: never mind, I guess it will be publicly posted on the forum when someone wants thier score to count, so each person can view it independently.

I agree with this although I think at this point it's simply a clarification since no bonus points have been awarded. I think this should apply to the current round and thereafter as well.

neilo had addressed this in his OP with "Bonus points are only for wins in the correct manner". Here's the scoring formula from his post.



So if you submit a military win in a tech assignment, you'll score a total of 1 point regarless of your score or speed.

It's just a title that gives me no advantage over anyone else. It just means that I have a little more to lose if I mess up.

It's like when I was a kid and the only reason my parents gave me an allowance was so that they could take it away from me if I was bad.

But seriously it is indicative that someone in power thinks that I may have made an occasional contribution to the benefit of the community. I think that mostly I've tried to deserve the title and be helpful where I can, but this by no means confers sainthood.

Ok guys i will clarify for you, seems like you guys might be on top of it anyway, but i'll still clear it up.

You may play as many games as you like, i will only consider your score official once you have directed me to look at your character in the results thread. So submit away and try and get the best possible score or faster game as you much as you like, when you are happy post in the results thread the character and date of submission for the game in question. If you would like to post a screenshot of the game from your MV character profile that's fine too.

Obviously though, once this is done it will be there for every one to see, and of course if someone feels the need thay might track your character to see your progress.
If we would like a secret way of doing this, i suppose i could have every one pm me which character and date of submission, but that won't stop someone looking at your profile anyway.

I hope that has cleared it all up, if not please let me know, i am more than happy to clarify any rule we have.

No, only if he was an active player would that rule be in effect. As it stands right now he is penciled in, but untill he checks in he will not be official. Don't worry guys, there will be no exploitation of the rules.

All private forums are now active in the Core! Team leaders will receive the passwords to their forum to distribute to their other temamates.

Passwords were chosen as the easiest form of 'security' and if the teams change later or in a different game we can just alter the passwords and start over

At this point teams A and B are pretty much setup. Teams C and D have yet to do this. I also posted a link to the above in the Team D thread. If anyone has any problem you can post in this thread, send me a PM here or at the Core, or perhaps the simplest is to make a shout in the shoutbox at the Core (assuming it's a short question). You could also PM any admin at the Core as well.

Remember that error 12 thing. I got a reply on it from stardock technical support and they tell me I have to re-register on the metaverse with a new serial number they sent me. I'm gonna have another reply with my new character's name and hopefully I will be able to submit meta games.

I'm gonna test it soon. If you know how to delete old characters then let me know please.

I wouldn't know mate. Let me know what your new name/character is when you get it sorted mate.
