You Know... when the USA had to save the world from Nazi facism, We in USA, like to take 1 day of a 365 day year to remember things like that so they don't happen again. We honor our fallen heros of Wars current and past... because they gave their life for the Freedom of our country and probably yours, so have some respect, you can play with your video game tomorrow... just be thankfull you have one to play.

Err, I'm all for respecting Memorial Day, and the part the United States played in WWII, but please remember that, despite what Hollywood would have you believe, many other nations fought against the Nazis, and long before the United States decided to join the fray. You certainly did not win the war all by yourselves.

You want us to respect the part you played, and that's reasonable, but please don't disrespect the role that everyone else played at the same time.

It's also not reasonable to expect people from other countries to know when Memorial Day is. I mean, why would we? Do you know when our holidays are?

It is not that I am impatient it is the fact I did not know it was memorial day in the states. They could have changed there phone message to say closed for memorial day and they chose not to. So I tried over and over to get someone not knowing that it was a us holiday. So really this ended up costing me money. When really I think it should say that in there message. Or they could simply have a message saying they are closed. Any one who has critisized me I have one question for you. Do you know when remeberance day is? Also it is more than critisism what some other posters have done. Even a admin agreed with me that what one poster said was un appropriate. Not once did I say some obsene thing to any poster. Even this poster look how he goes right to insulting me. Tell me does insulting me really help matters at all? Not once did I call someone a jackass or what that other poster called me.

oh and might I add the user who sent me a hate email from address *********@hotmail.com I hope you like spam because I am going to go all over and sign up you're email for a whole ton of spam. So if you get a huge increase in you're spam emails it was me.

I think it's the post above that you are being roundly mocked for, avmf8, and rightly so.

However, I agree with you that Stardock should probably have changed their phone message to indicate that it was Memorial Day. That said, it was probably just a simple oversight on their part, and not really a big deal.

Despite this, I think you'll find that Stardock is, in general, far more responsive to their customers than most companies are, both in their customer service, their continued attention to this great game and their philosophy on copy protection.

I have got say, i must agree with Ghost here. Your point was somewhat valid luckyirishguy, but maybe the heat of this topic got to you, as you went a little overboard. No disrespect but it came off a little elitist. Saying that the USA saved the world is as disrespectful to those who fought and died in WWII for all nations, as the op's thoughts on memorial day. I didn't know when memorial day was, but i knew of it.

Here in Australia we have A.N.Z.A.C. Day and Rememberance Day to commemorate those who have gone before, just like Memorial Day. I will acknowledge that the USA did do alot for the allied cause, more than any other nation, and that without their help the war may have dragged on far longer. Please remember that the resolve of other allied nations was just as strong and so is our pride.

I think I'm too late to the party here to post anything really meaningful.

Suffice it to say that, even if you feel you're entitled to something, posting whiny, insulting, and/or accusatory comments on a message board isn't going to get your issue resolved any faster. Do you think you're the only one who's ever had problems with their PC games? Look around, everyone on this board is a PC gamer.

I agree that you shouldn't have to wait an unreasonable amount of time for tech support, but being patient for a day or two isn't really a big deal unless you have serious issues with instant need gratification. "I can't play the game! I gotta call support! Oh no, no one there! I'm going to PM this developer who's online! I'm watching for a response! He's not responding! Now I'm going to make a snarky post!"

I mean, do you realize how that looks? If a phone call or a message board post don't work to get you support, send an email and check back the next day. Don't just fly into a rage because no one bent over backwards to help you on command.

Still I do not deserve having people insult me and send me hate email. No where in my posts did I directly insult any one. Yet so many posters have attacked me. Well let me ask you all something. Would you not get tired of buying game after game and have it not work? Allot of times I buy games where I meet and exceed the reccomended specs of the game and yet for some reasons some games won't work. I know it's not my PC I took it to a PC store to have it checked to see if there is something wrong with it and yet there is not.

Yet i keep getting games that for some reason in spite of me will not work properly. I have a fair size collection of games that never worked for me and there is no explaination for it. If you buy a game and tech support for it cannot help you out you cannot return a game. So I have waisted quite a bit of money on games that won't work. So excuse me for not being in a good mood about it. Still that does not give other posters the right to insult me and send me hate emails and all that crap. It gets to you after a while when you buy game after game for fun and all you get is having to try fixing it instead of playing it.

We have all the right in the world to insult you after you have disrespected a holiday remembering those who fought and died for the free speech that you have been using, though not very smartly.

Oh I am also reporting Neilo for his post as that is uncalled for. You talk about me saying I am acting like a jerk yet you are acting more like a jerk then me. If you are going to be a jerk then you have no right to complain if you feel others are being a jerk.


I can't forward it since it was an email sent directly to me. It was not a PM sent to me. I could only email forward it to you which I cannot do I know i tried it said I could not. I was not disrespecting the holiday I just think that tech support should be open or at very least have a message saying they are closed. So people from other countries do not waste there time on trying to call. Also in Canada they don't close everything down for rememberance day. But nowhere did I ever insult anyone and tell them some of the rude stuff that some of you guys have been saying. Then trying to say I don't know how to use a PC I do know how. Some games just do not work. Most times when I get a game working I have to fix it by myself. I think anyone else in my situation would be mad to if they bought many games that did not work right. Some of these games I even went as far as to have a PC technician come in to get the games to work and even they could not. IF even a professional for fixing computers cannot get it to work then that is a big problem. So I am frustrated about it I was going to appologise but now I am not. Not with other posters that have been a total prick to me.

avfm: I did not see your PM until yesterday at which point it was outdated.  I get literally dozens of PMs per day and I don't generally get a chance to read them very quickly because I'm short of time.

Generally speaking, phone support is not the best way to get technical support. You're much better off either emailing tech support or just asking on the forums where someone is likely to answer your question right away.

As far as I can tell, you have never even said what problem you were having that required phone support.

I am someone who sees' the direct result of physical and emotional injuries from WWII and Vietnam every day. Russia kicked some butt in WW2 for sure. I was reading this thread thinking that and you got to the punch before me. WW2 history is really cool btw for anyone who doesn't know much about it you should learn it, it explains a lot about why the world is the way it is today and has got to be more fun than causing drama for frogboy.

Now, now. The Soviet's sure did whoop some ass, and boy didn't they have an axe to grind too. But remember the Soviets mainly only fought the Nazi's. Not till the end of the war, the last few weeks, that the Soviets actually declared war on the Japanese. The US and the Australians were fighting the Japanese for many more years than the Soviets were fighting the Nazi's without the US. If i remember correctly, the Nazi's attacked the Red Army in 1941, so that makes it 4 years of war between the Nazi's and Soviet's. That very same year the US entered the war so 4 years for them. (i know it is maybe closer to 3 and a half years).

Now the US was at war with the Japanese for 4 years, and the Soviets were at war with the japanese for...less than 6 months.

Now i'm am not taking anything away from any of the allies, but the Soviets did not win WWII. If any nation deserves extra credit, i would say that it be the British. They fought longer than any other of the allies and done a damn good job holding down Hitler that he felt the need to expand east.

I don't think we could trivalize the efforts of any of the allies in WWII as they all had great success and even greater hardship in those 6 horrible years.

Every nation played their part and i'm not sure the war could have been won without any one of them......
