Now the US was at war with the Japanese for 4 years, and the Soviets were at war with the japanese for...less than 6 months.
Now i'm am not taking anything away from any of the allies, but the Soviets did not win WWII. If any nation deserves extra credit, i would say that it be the British. They fought longer than any other of the allies and done a damn good job holding down Hitler that he felt the need to expand east.
I don't think we could trivalize the efforts of any of the allies in WWII as they all had great success and even greater hardship in those 6 horrible years.
Every nation played their part and i'm not sure the war could have been won without any one of them......
Except France
Nonsense, the French played a vital role by lulling the Germans into a false sense of security. Think about it, had the Nazi's actually had to fire thier weapons during the invasion of France, they might have become battle hardened ground troops. But since thier greatest fear was poor service at the outdoor cafe's, they were unprepared for hte fight that the Soviets and Americans would later give them.
My knowledge of the French Resistance is but 1 line,
"Listen very carefully, for i shall this only once..."

again with the states and russia, CANADA had the 4th largest navy in the world at the time. They did a huge role in the war as well as Britain. You take those two players out and you may be speaking a different language right now.
It is saying something that isn't necessarily true for a humorous effect.
Though it may sound strange, it forms a vital piece of American culture, and I would encourage anyone unfamiliar with it to acquaint themselves at their earliest convenience.

I aplogize FEUD I did'nt realize it was a joke. I will let all the veterans in all the countries involved in the great war know that comments like that are a joke.
avfm: Don't send me private message's, have the gut's to say what you have to say here in the public eye.
You wrote,
"Who the hell do you think you are to go around and insult me? You have no right to start flying off the handle at me. Mentioning that you don't like it is fine but you are out of line with what you are doing. Waht do you hope to acomplish by doing that. You think I am being a jerk so you decide to go and act like a bigger jerk. Comming off as a ajerk is still not as bad as acting like a jerk on purpose."
I am someone who sees' the direct result of physical and emotional injuries from WWII and Vietnam every day. For you to then come in here on your high horse simply because you failed to get tech support and insult a commemorative holiday honoring those who had the guts to get out there and fight for freedom, is a far bigger insult than you being called a jerk/jackass.
You are constantly pleading how you are being insulted. Do you live under a rock? Has no-one called you a name before? Get a sense of realism and consequence. You were the one flying off the handle,You were the one accusing Frogboy of iggnorance. You are the one acting like a little kid...
("-------------------------------------------------------") I choose to delete what i wrote here in the interesting of disscusing this calmly.
You have shown nothing but disrespect from the moment you first posted, why, for the love of god, would you then expect us to be completely polite and courteous to you.
Me acting like a jerk? Fine i'll wear that. But unlike you i feel i have justification for what i have said, though over the top it may have been, it all rings true. As for your jerk like behaviour....well short of pointing out the obvious, but if it looks like a jerk and walks like a jerk..........
In the future, don't try and punk me out by pm'ing me in the hope i what? Stop this argument? Argue with you in private? No chance. Anything i have to say i will say within plain sight of Kryo and the like. Trying to goad me into insulting you in a private pm so that you can report that as well....well that's just plain cowardice.
/said in the most calmest of tones\
Still i never did anything like you did to me. Just because you feel you have justification does not mean you really do. I do not even believe in what the whole memorial day represents. Those people were forced by there country to go out and die for them. I do not see how that should be at all celebrated in any way.
Still I did go out of line on some posts but still nothing that deserved what you or what some other posters posted. I do not mind criticism as long as it is constructive and people don't go to far. Still do you really think insulting me like you have is going to help matters? Maybe if you simply made a point without insulting me that would have helped. Criticism is not an insult but what you did to me was not criticism.
May I add I was not at all trying to trick you into flaming me so I could report it. I just want to get you to stop with the obscene stuff you have been saying to me. Did I act a bit childish yes but still that does not mean you have a right to flame me. I never told anyone they resembled unmentional parts of a womens anatomy or tell anyone to insert anything up any part of there body. Or anything else like that. If I was really to far out of line I am sure I would have been warned by the admins or banned. I was never trying to get you to stop you're argument I just want you to lay off of the insults. Really is that too much to ask? Furthermore you sk if I ahve never been insulted before.
Actually yes I have all my life. I was born with a muscle condition that causes me to walk with a limp. I have been insulted all my life do to that. I have also been beat on do to not being strong enough to fight back. Recently I got in an bad accident and messed by back up real bad. Had to have almost my whole spine fused to to ruptured disks in my back. You have movement in you're spine so you can shift movement to walk. Well with my back fused I can no longer walk and am most likely going to be confined to a wheel char for the rest of my life. I have about a 5% chance that I will ever walk again. I can now not go out or do anything do to this. The only thing that makes my life bare able is being able to play games. I do not have allot of money so can not afford to buy to many games. So I get very aggrivated when I spend some of the little bit of spending money I have on a game and have it not work as it is supposed to. Sure a PC game not working may be a small issue to you but it is not to me.
4 people. That's how many people in my family fought and died in WWII. 2 people. That is the number that fought and died in Vietnam. 1 more, my step father, fought in Vietnam, though thankfully lived to tell his tale...just.
How many of those 7 brave souls were forced to fight by their country. None!.
They all volunteered and 1 was even my Nan, who left 4 children at home to join the fight against the Nazi's. I never saw any overseas service or military action, but i served my country. Voluntarily.
So you can continue to disrespect those people, but i choose to honour and remember them. And yes you are disrespecting every person who fought for freedom, no bones about it.
Was i out of line? Hell no! I feel what i said was right and stick by it. Was it a bit over board? Yeah, i'll grant that, but when it comes to sensitive matters such as these i have zero respect or time for the naive views you expressed.
Please don't play your misfortunes in life as a get out of jail free card. We all have our own sob stories to plead. Is it a shame you are like you are, i suppose it is. Does that give you any more of a right than me to be disrespectful. No.
I will continue to treat you the same no matter what your physical condition or life situation. They are merely obstacal's not excuses, nothing has changed.
I will read your response to this post but i will not engage you further. Your continued disrespect of people who gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and peace, and your blatant disregard for the facts of the case and your naive and selfish view on the days to remember those fallen heroes can only lead my respones to you escalating. I will not jeopardise my future privilege's here on this forum by trying to make the blind see. Unlike you and despite your opinion, i do have respect for others, and since i have been warned once, i will post in this thread no more.

You were more than just a bit overboard about it. You again mis understood my intensions. My mentioning my physical condition was to explain why I was in such a bad mood over it. I am actually shocked that for once you said something that could be looked at as close to constructive. Rather then telling me to insert an object up cavities of my body. I take offense when someone tells me to cram a game or anything for that matter up any cavity of my body I find very vulgar. The point remains I never directly said anything vulgar or insulting to you. Any thing you took offense too was not directed at you in any way. Besides you could have said something without being vulgar about it.
Also from what I learned in history no one volunteered to be in a war they were forced. You can't tell me that most of the people who died in that war chose to be there. When I called tech support for this game I never knew it was memorial day. So i tried to get through more than once and could not. That was what really aggrivated me about it. Had it said they were closed on there tech support line I would not have wasted money. Also had people been constructive and not gone to insuling me I would have eventually apoligized. However i am not going to apologise if people task the insulting me road. Why should I if people are being vulgar to me when I did not post one vulgar thing.

Quite frankly, what you learned was wrong. WHile I cannot give an exact number on what percentage of people that died were volunteers, there were many thousands who were.
For example, our war for independence (the Revolutionary War as we call it) was entirely volunteer. Unlike the British we did not force people to fight for us (if it did occur it was in unique, local, unsantctioned isolated incidents).
Our war with Mexico was fought entirely with volunteers. Our Civil war saw the first military draft, but it came later in the war, the inital part was fought through volunteer means.
In World War 1 Americans acted much like the Europeans and volunteered in mass. THe start of American involvment in World War 2 came WAY before Pearl Harbor, with many American's volunteering to fight for British and Chinese forces, and thousands more risking thier life to run the German blockade of ENgland. When we finally were attacked, would you like to guess how many of teh men lost in Pearl Harbor and teh Philipines were "forced" to be there? THe answer, zero.
Not to mention those who died in the many other wars who volunteered, and the thousands who have died during times when we have had no military draft (both Iraq wars, Somalia, Panama, Bosnia, Yugoslavia, Grenada).
I have had three members of my family serve in the military (not counting those in the civil war), one in WW2, one in Vietnam, and one through out the 80's and 90's (he fought in Panama, as well as other places). Thankfully they returned home safely. Each one was a volunteer.
What ever history book told you that all American's have been forced to fight would only be worth the paper it was written on was two-ply. That accusation is so amazingly absurd that one can only wonder if you got your information from a cold war era Soviet propaganda leaflet.
As for your health condition, I truely hope that you beat the odds and make a full recovery. I hope that you recover such to enjoy the things you used to do. But, while I can understand that this might be a trying time for you, insulting those who have givn thier lives in the defesnse of others and in service of their country is not acceptable civilized behavior.
No one here wants you to have a game that doesn't work, we just don't like you insulting our history, our heritage, our benefactors, our friends, and our family becasue you had to wait one extra day to play a video game.

Well some of the things said to me still were uncalled for. Also about the war thing if people refused to die for there country then there would not be wars. If people refused to fight for there country wars could not happen at all. But anyway bottom line is I did not deserve some of the vulgar and sometimes plain gross stuff that some posters said. If what I said was really offensive I am sure the admins would have said something to me by now.
Well, I don't understand why you have tried to contact them since I have warned you by PM before business hours that probably nobody would be at Stardock that Monday.
BTW, do you still have your problem playing GC2 or is it solved?

This is why I already called it before I even sent you a pm.
I should miss something: it wasn't business hours when you have PMed me. Just check the hour of posts or your PM. They will give you the time zone in which Stardock is.

I know that I called the day before as well and got no one. So first day I call I get no one and then they close for memorial day. So I could not get through at all even when it was not memorial day.
Are you meaning Sunday since memorial day was on monday?
Are you meaning Sunday since memorial day was on monday?
Actually I tried on 3 different days to contact tech support over the phone prior to ever sending you a pm. I tried on Wednesday Thursday and Friday prior to the Monday that memorial day was on. None of those days could I get an actual person to speak to. All I get is a machine asking to leave a message. I do not want to do that some places are in different timezones. Last time I did that with a tech support thing and was woken up at 6 with them calling me. I don't like that I like to get a person directly not do that. So that is why I got agrivated with them being closed on memorial day because I already tried to call them 3 times. I most likely wasted 20 bucks just trying to call tech support.
