Refars Starforge: Space AAB Kit & Starfleet Kit

Refars Starforge: Space AAB Kit & Starfleet Kit

I have moved in to I-Mod-Productions so you can find this and all future releases along with the news, if any, there in my thread. I will of course regulary visit this Forum as well.

While there are some meshes around, they are complete Hulls. I allways felt, that this way is loosing some of the possibilities, the GalCiv2 ship builder has to offer. After waiting for quite some time, for someone to make hull parts, i decided to do it myself...

The intention here is, to provide jewelry parts which can be mixed and matched with other jewelry to create new Hulls. The textures are not "realistic"-Trek. I went for the GalCiv2 overall look, while keeping some elements of the original Star-Trek design to make the parts recognizeable. It also features full Race colors.

For now it is only the Excelsior class, wich parts of course can be used to create the Centaur and some othe canon 'Kitbashes' as well. I am considering doing some other hulls in the future.

This comes as a mod, instructions on installation, hints on how to connect parts to get the original excelsior, etc are included in the Readme. When it is more complte, i will probably submit the stuff to the library.

Have fun kitbashing - i hope

An Update to my ISSCV Kit is out

*a bigger version of the Promo-picture can be found at I-Mod

It is the "Space: Above and Beyond - Kit" now. Featuring - of course with full team color support: The ISSCV, Hammerhead, Chigg Fighter, Advanced Chigg Fighter (Chiggy v. Richthofen), Chigg Bomber as well as some parts for Chigg Fighter Designs and a Hammerhead Fuselage.

The Saratoga Carrier, Chigg Battleship as well as two medium sized hulls (one for each side) are under construction.

You can Download it here, if you like.

Please remove the old Kit_Isscv.XML from your mod folder, if upgrading from the Isscv Kit

PS.: For the final version of the kit i would like to include some ship templates along with the meshes. I will make some my self, but if you use the mod, and make some cool ships using the parts, please consider making them templates and mailing it to me, along with the note of how you would like to be credited (i do not post my email here, to avoid some spam bot finding it it's in the readme, or you can ask).

Great work. I'm going to have a lot of fun playing around with these guys. I love the Advanced Chig Fighter. I couldn't quite tell from the pic, but if the lighter coloring on the front of the fighter says "abandon all hope" then I'll have to name a system after you during my conquests.   If not then maybe for the final.

If I come up with anything that isn't a ball of poo I'll make sure to send you the templates. Fantastic work.

it shall say "abandon all hope", unfortunately it's came out rather unsharp and hard to read other than in full zoom

This is really great work. The models look great in game. It seems all of my favorite sci-fi ships are slowly coming into my collection.   I can't wait to see the Saratoga and other ships you finish off the pack with.

Hi all,

I just found the thread. The idea of separate Starfleet parts is great. I was always waiting for this.

My question is: if you can make your own components, could you perhaps make some more general ones aswell. I was always feeling that some basic components were lacking. You see, I was a big lego fan as a child, and I still miss some basic "lego" components for my ships. A real Sphere, half-sphere, a pyramid, a cube, good triangles, box-like blocks to build the "mass" of the ship. And on the outer shelf, one then can move to more "thin" jewelry. I think such things should not be too difficult to make if one knows how. I think they would be a great addition to the game. Perhaps more general jewelry parts could be released as a separate mod.

Could you make that for us gamers, please?

Mod long and prosper

I see someone's been playing some KOTOR

Pssst!!! Don't mention KOTOR too much... Otherwise i could decide to play it again, which of course would prevent me from making progress with the mod for quite a while

@JamesTSchuerk - I want to finish my current work ont the S:AAB schips first. In the meantime - i believe the plain Box is in the game alreay - and take a look at General Pants stuff - i believe he was releasing a couple of Spheres / half Spheres in one of his Mods...

Hi again
I was not around for some time, busy with non-computer-gaming issues. But the work on the ship parts is not abandoned. If nothing comes up in the weekend i am hoping to release the S:AAB final somewhere around next week wendsday. For now i have just a WIP on the big ships, to show you that something is actually being done
