The kidnapping of my fear

The kidnapping of my fear

That's my problem.
I'm not afraid, I will always be more worried by my governments attempts to frighten me than I will ever be scared by the "facts". Yes there are terrorists in our world. they have always existed, We have lived with the threats in the UK for decades without social collapse.

My point is, why be scared, why give in, Live your life. Fook them.

Also consider this, why is my government trying to make us scared?
This is easy. the more were scared the easier it is for anyone to take control.

Paranoia, apparently, exerts more control than any possible terrorist act.

Well yes, gullable is the word. You seem to believe most of the conspiracies Ive read, or heard about. =/ And yes, I would want to guarantee my familys future, and current sucess. But do I think the worlds elite meet to play a global game or Risk, as you just stated, no, not at all. And well if you believe the basic concept, why not believe in shape shifting aliens? Most conspiracists for that subject say they have "proof" that the worlds leaders are shapeshifters.

Oh, and Im guessing your a fan of David Icke.

so they can bring forth revelations? Lol.

I didn't have time to respond to this one. Have you looked around lately? If you have then you know about these overzealous Christians who are sending fists full of money to Israel in the efforts to bring about the end of the world don't you? There's no conspiracy theory behind this well known fact as I am sure others at this forum can clarify and confirm this fact for me. So I guess it would go to show that you can laugh all you want to about conspiracy nuts and the Illuminati and the government cover ups, all the while saying this could never happen, but then right before your very eyes a group of Christians are publicly proclaiming that they ARE TRYING TO BRING ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD people! Who needs conspiracy theories when real life has so much more to offer!

Okay. About that, no I didnt notice, since Im not religious, nor do I like religion. And I didnt say it couldnt happen. I just dont blindly believe all these accusations. Yes, the government is corrupt, greedy, and ran by fools(Bush for example), but I still dont think that the worlds elite gets together to creat a real game of risk, simply for amusement, or to bring forth the end of the world. Christianity is based on some people in the past saying "God(Funny how the christian god is egotistical. He has people call him God, another word for deity, yet tells us not to worship other gods)" talked to them, and some dude claiming to be the son god. That is a prophet. And most religions have some man claming to be the prophet of their god, or even being the god himself. Scientists are proving that most of the "acts of god" were merely natural happenings.

Oh, and who are these Christians giving money to Israel to "bring forth the end of the world"?
Now realize that what, at least 60% of the truly 'wealthy' families have received their money the 'old fashioned' way, through illegal and deceitful activities of course and where does that leave

I absolutely agree. Money breeds money, power breeds power, and it gets passed on through the generations. This isn't a truly free country - it is tilted towards those with money and power.

But this is human nature, not an Illuminati conspiracy. The problem with humans is that, underneath it all, we are still caveman. We just have better sticks.

Don't even know of whom you speak, but I guess since I run in those 'conspiracy circles' as you seem to want to label me since I speak out against our government or anyone else who is trying to deceive the people I should have his name tattooed to my ass or something right?
You are obviously looking to do nothing more than belittle me/this topic instead of actually debating the possibilities. You also seem to have your mind made up that all is wonderful with the world and things that happen are truly coincidence. One could therefore conclude that these things being said, you also believe in a different law of physics than the rest of the world. Your physics would say that steel could melt in a fire that just can't get hot enough for long enough to melt it, right? You believe people can bend spoons with the heat from a simple match, right? Oh, and to hit 9/11 square on the head, a few guys with razor blades (as that is all a box cutter is) were able to convince dozens of people that they would die if they attempted to stop a hijacking? Come on... people show more angst over a bad call at a football game. You mean to tell me no one on any one of those planes would have attempted anything to stop it? What about remote controlled planes? Do you claim that they aren't out there right now? Or do you claim they aren't feasible? All things from the 70's that were meant to counter hijacking of airplanes. But no, no one could ever use that against us now, why would they? Why did Silverstein gain millions of dollars for the loss of his properties? I guess none of that was in his best interest huh? Or how about do a public records search of the NYC Municipal Authority. See what their building inspectors found wrong with the trade centers during their inspections in the 80's. Asbestos among many other health code/environmental issues. Guess who would have had to pay big bucks for repairs. Go ahead... the NYC PA, that's who. Finally, how many buildings freefall into their own footprints without any resistance whatsoever? The only ones I have learned about that do that are the ones PURPOSEFULLY demolished. So please, feel free to share your opinions or debate me or whatever... but don't start to belittle me. For I could easily do the same and start with you over something trivial and mundane... like your little avatar that you got there... am I making my point?
edit: Sorry, didn't mean to come off as a prick... just a little miffed from work related things, not your comments. Re-read some of your comments and nothing insulting towards me in there really, so again, forgive my 'mean spirit' today.

Okay. First of all, I labeled you as a conspiracy follower cause you believe most of the conspiracies. You openly admit you believe it, so dont be shocked when someone labels you. ANd about the author, it was merely a question since you seem to like the subject, so dont get all anal about it. Debate the possibilities? And what ground do you have to believe all this crap? The so called "proof" of all these conspirators? Secondly, whoever said I thought the world was perfect? I think the world is totally fu@ked up, and full of imperfection. And again, when did I say I thought that about the physics? ABout the plane hijacking, yes, Im not sure how that went down. A plane full of cowards would surely sit back and tremble, but what if a football player, or similar was on the plane, would he be afraid of a razor? Not likely. I live in Henderson, we have Nellis Airforce Base, so no, why would I deny that? And lol, wow, my avatar? Go ahead and insult me for it.

Steel doesn't have to melt. It looses 85% of its tensile strength at temperatures over 500 degrees. The Trade Centers were built with a load bearing exterior wall and a central elevator core so they would have large, open, uninterrupted interior spaces - trading floors - hence, Trade Center. When the exterior wall was damaged and the steel weakened the floors pancaked onto one another in sequence, right down into the footprint of the building.

You find this difficult to believe. I find the thought of the government attacking it's own citizens as an elaborate insurance scam difficult to believe. It could be true. I just think my explanation is more plausible.

People are sheep. The pyscho Korean kid at Virginia Tech shot 58 people in the engineering school. He had to stop to reload at least once - two Glocks would only hold 36 rounds - and nobody even threw a chair at him. A few students were smart enough to jump out the windows, but nobody tried to stop him. In WW2 the Jews marched quietly on to the boxcars taking them to their doom. People are sheep

Remember, the first planes thought they were being hijacked. It made sense to sit quietly, since that would be the best idea. When the folks on United 98 realized what was happening they did take action, and probably saved the Capitol.

These are the kind of holes in the logic of the argument that makes the conspiract theory hard to believe. Personally, I think this big, bloated, inefficient government is too damn dumb to pull off something that complicated. They can't even fire some attorneys without getting in trouble.

.

Challenge!!!! OK, make me believe it. Keep in mind, you have to explain how it remained such a secret that not one Democratic operative could use it against the great Bush-Satan.

I fail to see how that explains the destruction of the buddhist statues?

The destruction of those statues stands in testimony to the true nature and cause behind all of the worlds strife today.... islamic intollerance.

Read some history to see what kinds of "shrines" the Western World has destroyed.

I think the dark ages could be involved in this argument also. but thats not my point.
Many differing perspectives have been brought forward. many atrocities committed by all involved.
We all have a litany of atrocity worthy of contempt and definitely worth hiding from the present day.

All I am asking is that my government lets me decide how my freedoms are to be curtailed and how scared I actually am.

When you define my fear in words of war and constitutional change that curtails my freedom then you have surely kidnapped my fear, whether real or manipulated, for your own ends.

Neil.

P.S. I just think it's a dishonest politic that relies on scare tactics to belittle our intelligent assesments of world affairs.

I apologise if this has made people think outside games.
It was just a thought I had and I wondered if other people, even gamers, had thoughts of politics and their world.

If not, then tough, it is off topic, so to quote a theologian

What does this mean? How can you define my fear? And what Constitutional change?

Sorry. I grew up in Chicago - politics is a sport.

Watch the news, read the papers, especially tabloids, their whole rhetoric is based upon mass media sales, those sales are only achieved by escalating a crisis into hysterics if possible. then look at the propaganda released by our governments.
Is it designed to help us understand the nature of the wars our leaders wage,
or is it more likely designed to scare us into agreeing with their way of thinking.

I suggest that these arguments aren't directed at the events but more pointed at our fears of the worst case scenario that these events could ensue.

This is why I don't trust my government to tell me the truth.
Especial considering the interests they have to protect.

That doesn't mean I'm a conspiracy theorist, It just makes me one of many who aren't going to be intimidated by my government and essentially believe without question what they say.

The government lies. Fact. If you dont question them, they will walk all over you.

seriously though, the idea of a muslim country with nukes scares me allot!

I mean it is so easy to imagine muslims being perfectly willing to destroy the world and themselves at the drop of a hat as soon as somone did somthing to offend them.

Being the perfect "devils advocate" I would hypothesise that America might be the next country that uses nuclear weapons in anger.

I have just started watching another documentary "propogandamentary" about the "war" in Iraq, This one is called "America at a crossroads"
Sound like the same old story. certain facts intermixed with totally unrelated images and video, designed to give a false impression of the ineptitude in this situation.

It just goes to prove, to me, that "truth" is a pseudo fiction that can be told in many different ways.

It is surely a fact that there are many views, politics. desperations in the story of Iraq that can't be justified by the continued occupation of another nation by America and Britain.

We desperately need to ask questions, Not why we invaded? When our troops can be safe again? What did we do wrong initially? I think even the worst sceptic can see the possible answers to that. but why has it gone so wrong? Why do the Iraqi's hate the occupation of their country? If it's for their own good. and the inevitability of this country being torn apart.

All I see is incompetence and a total disregard for the middle east that almost invites rebellion. It is surely our shame that we in the west have provoked other nations so egregiously that now our own governments feel the need to run scared and desperately try to drag us along with them in the hope we will be fooled into following such idiotic and pointless actions.

I am of the belief that we have allowed our politicians to lie, cheat, bully and coerce the general public into a state of almost panic and therefore gain a level of control over us, free, western, citizens that we would never have allowed under rational circumstances.

War is a horrible thing, even an idiot can tell you that. But it IS sometimes what one might call a 'necessary evil.' The American Revolution? I'd call that one necessary, not just because I'm an American who detests British accents (male british accents anyways). WWI? No way, that was a huge mess caused by bad blood, bad politics, and crazy people. WWII? Again no way, but the U.S. entering the war WAS a necessary evil. Even if the Japanese hadn't attacked. Korea? Couldn't tell you, I haven't studied it much, but it was one of the most poorly handled coflicts of the century. Vietnam? He11 no. Iraq 1? Yes, if we were so petty as to 'laugh in their faces' because they didn't like us haveing armed troops in thier territory then we should be shot, ALL OF US. Iraq II should never have happened/be happening, Saddam should have been executed the first time.

I don't believe that U.S. companies or the government orchestrated 9/11. Its the most ludicrous thing i've ever heard. If these people were so diabolical and powerfull, what makes you think that those who profess such insanity wouldn't be killed? If they were really that evil and powerfull they could have these people eliminated the moment they even thought about telling the world of this great conspiracy. Its insanity.

Its even more insane than Jack Thompson, and thats not easy. You have to realize that facts aren't enough, logic must be applied to the facts, and that the human mind has a habit of seeing exactly what it wants to see, of interjecting plots and irregularities where they don't exist.

And we DID land on the moon.
