Korath v. Krynn Tournament

For the rest of April I'm running an unofficial tournament between these two races. All players who own DA are welcome and encouraged to participate.

The Scene

The Korath were part of the Drengin Empire, but their determination to exterminate non-Drengin life rather than enslaving them has made them even more dangerous as a foe. The Korath war machine has advanced mercilessly across the universe. Whole civilizations have crumbled under the unrepentant destruction of the Spore Ships. Chaos and doom reigned supreme.

The Krynn are here to bring order to the galaxy. Ynrhed Eidden called a council of war on Kryseth, homeworld of the Krynn Consulate. The Korath menace was analyzed, and determined to be the greatest threat to maintiaining peace and prosperity. Filled with righteous purpose, the Krynn military prepared for a sudden and massive attack on the Korath throughout the universe.

But would it be enough?

The Rules

Who Wins: The Race which scores the highest when the raw scores of all the submissions are added up at the end of the tournament will win.

Tournament Length: This Tournament runs from April 7th (the first shots have already been fired!) to April 30th. On May 1st I will post the results of the tournament.

Submissions: Every skirmish matters! To submit your score to the tournament, simply post to this message with a screenshot from your metaverse profile.


Only games with a date in the lower right hand corner that were submitted between April 7th and April 30th will be accepted. No cheat flagged games will be accepted. If there is a question about the validity of any score, it will be resolved by referring to that players official metaverse profile by me. For this tournament, only games played by the Korath or Krynn will be counted. Players are free to submit as many games as they choose as long as they are legal metaverse submissions within the appropriate date range.


So who will win? Brute force and genocidal zeal vs. defense, diplomacy and espionage! Your games will reveal the answer.

The Korath put up a decent fight, but in the end couldn't muster a defense against the Krynn forces. The Korath threat has been contained, for now. Thanks to everyone who played!

Here's one for the Krynn. I hit my goal of 6 years or less, but i had terrible morale and how i won with the economy i had i have no idea. There should have been a coup with me being strung up outside the senate building!!!!

I feel that way almost every game I play now. I'm really not nice to my people anymore. Grats on the new posted wins guys. Everything is updated.

The Krynn have pulled into an almost 2-1 lead. I have another Korath game in the works, but the Korath's biggest problem is they only have two entries thus far.

Are spore ships not as cool as super morale and combat abilities??

After the peaceful Krynn experienced the horrific genocide of their home ploanets. They moved to strike more remote corners of the Korath's empire. After learning the hard knock lesson of signing a peace treaty with a korath they decided to pay the Korath the same honor. Military research and productiom was put at the forefront of the Krynns infrastructure (who were once a cultural species). A massive full scale attack was made without warnig. Some people believed the Korath we attacked were different then the ones that attacked us. No matter though someone must pay for our 110 billion, and thus the line of the Krynn & Korath wars front was more cleary defined.

Thanks for the entries all. Nice to see you decided to join my little tournament Iztok. Advocati Diaboli indeed. The main page is again updated. Krynn still lead, but it is getting closer.

One week down, more than two still to go, so anything could happen at this point. Hope everyone is enjoying their games!

Don't know if this will work, but here are my stats. I can't figure out how to take a screenshot with the tools I have, and with my computer barely able to handle what I've got on it at the moment, I won't be downloading any more software at this point.

Anyone else having trouble seeing the text in replies? This forum has suddenly shifter to purple and dark blue fonts, and I can't figure out how to shift it back!

OK, all scores are updated. It's a dead heat, less than 4,000 pts seperate the two sides. Its currently the Krynn in the lead with 238,585. The Korath are real close at 235,450.

CornhuskerMac and Berzelius - I added both of your scores to the total. While I do prefer screenshots, if you have a problem with screenshots as long as you post your game to the metaverse and let me know where to find it I can add it. For anyone else having problems with screenshots, please follow CornhuskerMac's admission style (he included the character name, which race it was for, date, etc. which all helped).

I do have another Korath game in the works which might tip the balance, but no worries, I'll be going right back to the Krynn after that. I love how this is shaping up.

I finally finished this one. It should help tip those scales back a bit.   

I'll get around to the Krynn eventually, but last night I started up a Torian game with similar settings to Wyndstar's Altarian AAR galaxy. That's been interesting so far, especially because the Torians' race abilities and points are so minimal.





Spore. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfrakker in the galaxy. Accept no substitutes.

Just got in from work (arr zombie shift) and finished up this game - just a matter of polishing off the tools of war and bashing the remaining races to a bloody pulp - the Krynn got pretty much stepped on and never posed a real threat.

Actually, no one really did - the speed +2 boost to colonize the main good planets in the Small galaxy really helped me pretty much abuse the three AIs all game - they just didnt have the planets to oppose me. Shame I didn't put more than four in, coulda had a better score.

I know it's been brought up a bit earlier, it'd be really nifty if things like this could be more official -- because there could be prizes!

I think it could do a lot for the meta, if, say, the winning race of a tourney was rewarded with a new hull design in an upcoming patch...

Well, I'd love an official tournament too. As it is, I'm doing the best I can under the situation. You might want to make a suggestion to the Metaverse Council, and see if you can get them to approach Stardock with an official request.
