Korath v. Krynn Tournament

For the rest of April I'm running an unofficial tournament between these two races. All players who own DA are welcome and encouraged to participate.

The Scene

The Korath were part of the Drengin Empire, but their determination to exterminate non-Drengin life rather than enslaving them has made them even more dangerous as a foe. The Korath war machine has advanced mercilessly across the universe. Whole civilizations have crumbled under the unrepentant destruction of the Spore Ships. Chaos and doom reigned supreme.

The Krynn are here to bring order to the galaxy. Ynrhed Eidden called a council of war on Kryseth, homeworld of the Krynn Consulate. The Korath menace was analyzed, and determined to be the greatest threat to maintiaining peace and prosperity. Filled with righteous purpose, the Krynn military prepared for a sudden and massive attack on the Korath throughout the universe.

But would it be enough?

The Rules

Who Wins: The Race which scores the highest when the raw scores of all the submissions are added up at the end of the tournament will win.

Tournament Length: This Tournament runs from April 7th (the first shots have already been fired!) to April 30th. On May 1st I will post the results of the tournament.

Submissions: Every skirmish matters! To submit your score to the tournament, simply post to this message with a screenshot from your metaverse profile.


Only games with a date in the lower right hand corner that were submitted between April 7th and April 30th will be accepted. No cheat flagged games will be accepted. If there is a question about the validity of any score, it will be resolved by referring to that players official metaverse profile by me. For this tournament, only games played by the Korath or Krynn will be counted. Players are free to submit as many games as they choose as long as they are legal metaverse submissions within the appropriate date range.


So who will win? Brute force and genocidal zeal vs. defense, diplomacy and espionage! Your games will reveal the answer.

The Korath put up a decent fight, but in the end couldn't muster a defense against the Krynn forces. The Korath threat has been contained, for now. Thanks to everyone who played!

WHAT? how did you score over 220,000 in 48 hours? that isn't even possible! i've been playing since Xmas, and all of my games combined are less than 220,000!!!! my highest score was 34,000 on a gigantic galaxy all abundant that took me more than three weeks to finish. you claim to have gotten 74,000 on a TINY!!!!! in a game that took you a few hours?? that is more than double my best score from a gigantic. How can you get so high on a tiny compared to a gigantic. how do we know you aren't cheating. it isn't even possible to get your scores. why should we want to enter a tournament with a cheater?

AND if you are running the tournament, oh great one, why do you get to play? isn't that unfair? why don't you just a run a me vs. all other players tournament and get over yourself.

seriously, stardock should figure out how wyndstar is cheating. it can't be possible to get those scores.

Really? It seems you are the one with issue. Oh thats right you have been playing since xmas so you have done it all and are the best at the game, no-one else could possibly be better.

Get off your high horse, you don't even play in the Metaverse and i would say have not attempted to play with the same settings as Wyndstar, so how would you know anything about it?

Have a look at some of the scores many, many players get in the Metaverse before labeling anyone a cheat. Your inability to play this game at his level should not lead you to accuse players of cheating. Play at your own pace and work towward these scores, practice playing and if you were smart about it, instead of blasting posters, why not ask how did they do it and you might learn something.

Sorry Wyndstar, i'm not quite the diplomat you are.

I just assume he's young. He will learn how to play. First time I ever got accused of cheating though, I only have one cheat flagged game even, and that was from a patch bug. I try to get along with people here, flame wars are destructive and typically a waste of time and energy.

Good luck on your game. I have my second Korath on the way as well, but it is on a Medium so is taking me longer, and I haven't had much time to play the last few evenings.

that's 375 points if you want to know. The Krynn held back the Korath assualt for 11 years. Even though the Korath had developed antimatter missiles which were far more powerful than the Krynn's photonic missiles the Krynn held them at bay with their quick manufacturing and logistics. The Krynn was making the vehicles as fast as they exploded. The plague spread to the Krynn's home world in the end, and devoured it's workers until they were forced to put their resources to find a cure. With the manufacturing of fighters briefly halted the Korath sent an armada of heavy fighters and spore ships. It was a quick genocide for the Krynn's homeworlds, but not the end of this.

Just had a look at your meta scores Wyndstar.,

Seems apart from custom your top scores are from either Krynn or Korath.

Looks like you've set up a tournament for races you favour.

I guess this means your in with a chance at the title then.

Well, I think they are two of the most powerful now. I still prefer custom over all the stock races. But, I do often get high scores with both of them, which is exactly why I wanted to run a tournament between the two, and see who won out.

There is no "title" however. Individual players don't win, just one of the two races.

Good luck to all, I am not a meta-player and have little experience w/ DA. Am looking forward to having some extra time on hand with summer and playing this for days on end. I look forward also to seeing who comes out on top with this.

Well can't say this was a pretty victory but it is a victory nonetheless. For the next one it will be a Krynn victory, in under six years i hope. Maybe not though, as this was my 1st DA Meta game so we'll see.....

I've finshed my game, my first DA meta game...and it's cheat-flagged. I assure you though, I used no cheats.

Still, here is the screenshot, if you don't want to use the score because it's cheat-flagged I understand.

There was a bug with that in the initial 1.5x, IIRC. Make sure you have updated to 1.5x3 before your next game.

Two smalls and a tiny over a weekend is hardly an accomplishment to brag about... but I was busy entertaining my woman for much of the holiday.


Man, you have a woman too!!! How the hell do you have time to master galciv 2 DA and have a woman???

Im don't think I posted my score correctly - I'm not sure about the process of getting the image etc. - I used Microsoft Office. However the score and infois correct.

The answer is most certainly no. She thinks its a big waste of time. I've been forced to learn to be very... efficient in the time I spend towards the game. Its one reason you may never see me do a Huge or Gigantic map ever again.

Berzelius, I need a little more to approve your score. Try taking a screenshot. You also didn't list which race it was for.
