Grumpy as hell

Grumpy as hell

About?

What you grumpy about?

I'm grumpy about.

This bollox over the middle east.
The forced agenda behind Global Warming
fast food that tastes like dung.
Boring TV.

The list goes on

Please don't get into flames. Please don't spend loads of time bogging down a trivial thread, lol
I'd rather just a few points of view and all arguments please fight somewhere else.

If you can.

Quite a few things, one of them would be the fact that I am still up at 12 and another would be the amazing amount of homework I have to still do in the morning.

Well Cheers.

Yea um i think it has gone from a defiant battle against all odds to somthing more like watching a cat play with a helpless mouse - not my kind of thing.

What part of it is a cat playing with a mouse? Because your response shows that you stopped quite abruptly in your viewing. What Sci-fi in a long time has been as good as BSG?

Ar, what's the tv licence? How do you get a tv licence? do you have to drop your tv on a trolley, stick some L plates on it and push it round the driving course??

No trolleys or 'L' plates..very good!

Just a quick but costly yearly payment to the license board so that you can watch Tv.

Anyone caught watching Tv without one is fined.....I'm not kidding.

Ps sounds like you English have it bad... we do get allot of very booring english police shows on the ABC here in Australia. But you guys make great documentories and the new Doctor Who series, wow, awesome, great work!!! (although dr who isnt screening here in Australia at the moment?)

Yes it must seem like we love a detective drama here in England...what Saturday afternoon would be the same without a couple of episodes of Midsomer Murders or Poirot.....dear oh dear!!

Yes Dr Who is back and has been well received. Apparently the daleks will be returning for another installment this series so something to wet your appetite when the series gets to you in Australia.

To answer your first question, it is apparant that the scilons could destroy them at any time but are too busy playing mind games. Yes their mind games cost them dearly at times but they seem to always be 10 steps ahead of the pathetic humans. And on a further note, even if the humans do survive it is because of scilon discontinuity not human enginuity. I want the humans to be somthing a bit more than little puppet toys.

in answer to your second question... Andromeda!

Na, battlestar galactica only lasted about 4 weeks in prime time before the networks decided they had to make room for even more hospital, lowyer and police shows!

I kept up with it for a while in the late tv slot before i realised i didn't like the plot anymore

Battlestar has turned into a soap opera in space, with the occasional fight in the street/space/planet to try and keep us interested, BG what a heap/ dog turd/ stupidity of a series.

Sorry. Babylon 5 was as good as it got for me. Nothing else has come close.

Eeeeekkk! That's a little too Big-Brother for me. Maybe Stormbringer is right - maybe there are eyes everywhere...

My hypertension

Me too. I hate getting old.

Wow, other people who hate BSG. My small and incomplete list of BSG hates:
1) I don't like the characters and I want the Cylons to kill them.
2) To much soap and not enough blood.
3) The humans are stupid. Yet another reason they deserve to die...
4) The "ripped from the headlines" political commentary is over the top and noxious.
5) The Cylons are a human creation (I really liked the old set up where the Cylons, were, in fact, a dead race and the androids were their left over robotic guards still defending the empire. True, it morphed a bit over time, but this is where it started.)
6) Cylons are really humans who have enslaved androids. The leaders bleed and have no android/robotic parts and are served by the robotic soldiers...How would you characterize this? When will the real Cylons revolt against their too human-like overlords. Now that might be fun to watch...
7) Cylons have godlike advantages over the humans, and not merely numbers...In fact the Cylons are superior to humans in all ways.

Every time I watch the show I am reminded of how much I don't like it. When I say this, my wife asks me why I watch it..."I don't know"

I'm too damn old. Every time I watch the show I just can't accept that Starbuck is a chick!

I LOVED the show in the 70s when I was...well, younger. I love watching it now in reruns. The new BSG just doesn't cut it for me.

fast food that tastes like dung.

I take exception to this statement. As my primary dietary staple, I can say it tastes much better than most dung I've tried.

That's a happy thing! It means I'm still alive!

I would have thought that you can afford gourmet dung, Frogboy.

Well I am grumpy as hell over these gas prices. To see that the bulk of this increase is due to certain refineries needing maintenance (don't they already factor these things in or does the money just go into the CEO's pocket on that one too?). Now 'analysts' are saying that we may not have enough fuel for the summer driving season because of the shortages at the refineries. But the fuel futures for June show the price to be around 2.21 a gallon... but we 'won't see this price' at the pump because even though it will 'cost' 2.21 in June, we will still be paying the 'May' price I guess. They try to explain it but anymore it just sounds like gibberish to me. I'm still baffled by what happened to the 'old school' rules of supply and demand. Can anyone enlighten me as to how this works anymore since I seem to have missed a couple of decades...

I bet i know.... the same reason you watch all the other crap, because it is slightly better than the other crap on offer!

Of course i would watch BSG over 95% of all the other shows around the place. And yes it would be brilliant if the humans were true rebels like in the original series and not the little puppy play things of the cylons they are now, how crapola is that idea?

Well, we've done this to ourselves. With supply and demand you would think there would now be enough demand to make it profitable to build a new refinery. But the eco-terrorists / Al Gore & Co. have made that impossible. No one will allow a new refinery in their backyard. I live 15 miles from the last refinery built in the US - 30 years ago. I think this might have something to do with the artificial demand we are seeing...

If it takes all of our refineries operating at 95-100% capacity to supply the demand mavbe its time to find a place for a new one.

At least you guys in Australia have great weather and beaches, high standard of living and in comparison low tax levels..... And thanks to my qualifications and experiences, I qualify for privileged status on your immigration rules....

Except i'm scared of spiders to a sad level..... and you tend to have far too many killer varieties from what i can tell ^_^

Oh, well, who needs TV when you have Galciv 2, and a weekend of binge drinking!

Yea, there is a very high demand for skilled workers here in Australia at the moment. And that is mainly due to businesses being unwilling to train staff and apprentices... they all just wan't skilled workers to fall from the sky into their laps!

And no, there is only one deadly variety of spider in Australia - the Funnel web spider. There are others that can make you sick, such as the redback spider but they cannot threaten your life, unless your already very weak from some other condition... but in that case a bottle of vodka would probably be more deadly!

To quote Wikipedia:
"The licence fee represents approximately 75% of the BBC's income. However, the UK's second public broadcaster, Channel 4, has claimed that it may need licence fee income if it is to continue with public broadcasting after the digital switch-over. To this end, on April 25, 2006, it was announced that Channel 4's digital switch-over bill would be paid for from the licence fee."
Basicaly, it's to pay for BBC1, BBC World, BBC News, etc. We have no choice.
Luckily, I don't pay for it, my parents do.
