Grumpy as hell

Grumpy as hell

About?

What you grumpy about?

I'm grumpy about.

This bollox over the middle east.
The forced agenda behind Global Warming
fast food that tastes like dung.
Boring TV.

The list goes on

Please don't get into flames. Please don't spend loads of time bogging down a trivial thread, lol
I'd rather just a few points of view and all arguments please fight somewhere else.

If you can.

Yeah, but I don't have to fight my way through kangaroos to get to my car in the morning.

hahahaha, Na, we fight our way through flies and mosquitos!

Same exact programing here in the U.S. .

Haha, but there is a bit more. i.e. 24. oh yeah.

We get 24 in Australia, i stopped watching it when i realised my de ja vu (however you spell it?) sense was going into overdrive. In other words, 24 just seems a bit like a broken record??

I mean, c'mon Jack, just shoot whoever is in charge already and solve all your problems!!!

You have no idea how dangorous kanga's are, do you.

Absolutely true. It seems like the rest of the world gets a wide variety of candidates to choose from. We get two. There is a fair amount of grumbling in the country that "None of the above" should be included on our ballots.

Easy you just don't vote, in my contry EVERY one over 18 HAS to vote.
Proof that America is somewhat screwed = more people vote for a singer on American Idol then in the last National election.

No way, voting is a pain in the ass! I envy America in that regard. Sure if there was actually somthing worth voting for then that would be different, anyway, in Australia if you live in what is known as a 'safe seat' area, your vote counts for nothing at all. Because of the 'safe seat' factor probably about 70% of the Australian voters have no say in government elections at all.

Wow! Where do you live? How does that work?

Sad, but true. We get the government we deserve. And then we complain about who wins the elections...Sanjaya for Pres in 2008!

Sanjaya for Pres in 2008!

You know, it is kind of scary to think that you actually know a contestant's name Oz... if that is what "Sanjaya" is of course. As you can tell I would rather have my remote pried from my cold dead hand than watch 'American Idol', or any of those other 'reality' shows or whatever the hell they are. My time could be better spent scratching my retina with a knitting needle.

Oh, and I am grumpy today because it doesn't look like I'm going to get my RAM even though it passed right through my neighborhood on it's way to the main UPS branch about seventy miles away. Now my package will have to 'backtrack' it's way to my grubby little paws. Doesn't make sense sometimes... the way things are delivered... but then I do know a little about delivery logistics so...
I think what "brown has done for me today" is piss in my Wheaties.

LOL! I almost choked on my lunch! Always nice to hear from you, Stormbringer.

I know you're not that old, but I have this mental picture of you as an angry old man, chasing the UPS truck up your street in your nightshirt while waving your cane in the air.

I don't watch the show either, but I do try to keep sewing implements away from my sensory inputs. I just had the name drilled into my head by the media. I hope, for my sake, I misspelled his name and that he sinks swiftly back into the obscurity from whence he came?

how many "Idol" fans do you think could name two of the Republican presidential candidates? And if the technology exists for the public to vote for "Idol", how come we can't do it for elections? Imagine Al Gore singing "You Had a Bad Day"...

hahaha, actually the scary thing about reality tv is when i imagine how much dumber i would have to become in order to enjoy it - then realise i am surrounded by millions of people who ARE that dumb... scary as hell!

That is where we are going to have to agree to disagree, unless you can't agree to that. I see your point, but it's just too good.

Oh, I know how that is...not from California, but Montana...

Yea, aside from the repetition of certain cercumstances it is a very good show. Mebe if they decided enough is enough with playing the card of somone causing trouble in the department... mebe if it was Jack and his team against the bad guys then i would probably watch it again.

I mean honestly, for God's sake do they really think there is such an endless supply of morons and traitors in our government departments? Surley they have to run out sooner or later? surley?

wow , there was a guy who actually got grumpy on another thread of mine , saying this i9s a gamers site and theres no place for politics here.

I said it's "off topic" so tough, anything goes.

but it seems like there isn't anywhere that politics can't go.
even in a grumpy rant thread,

Ill watch with glee.

no, let me see, at the moment all i watch is supernatural and Dr house. I might watch NCIS on occasion.

Usually a show has to be extra good for me to tollerate the Adds, Or i will buy the series off ebay, other than that the tv dousn't even get turned on.

The tv series i considered good enough to buy so far are startrek the next generation, deep space nine and voyager, babylon5, buffy, the x files, and at the moment i'm chasing down and watching Andromeda and hero's as fast as i can find them.

As you can see, i am a definate sci fi fan!

Edit: buffy and the x files were definately not on the same enjoyment level as startrek or babylon5!

Well here in the UK all we get shoved down our throuts is reality television....okay,maybe a slight exageration... but we've got celebrity everything! To name a few we have soapstars singing karaoke fashion, garden designers learning to show jump,a bunch of strangers dumped on a tropical island,a group of strangers dumped on a not so tropical british island, celebrity's getting it on on the 'love island' and kiss and tell girls collecting semen from pigs on a farm........

And the funny thing is I'm paying for all this via my Tv license!!! You couldn't make it up!

Roll on another episode of 'Friends'......no hang on I've seen that one....fifty times already!!

I'll have to get me one of those free view box thingies....wait a minute, how much? The flaming liberty!!

Then again maybe I'm just a grumpy ol' englishman!

Okay, I KNOW I posted this already but I guess the forum is having issues again as well...
Anyhow, I read somewhere about this 'TV License' but that was some time ago. If you don't mind could you indulge me a little bit and tell me what the TV license is all about? If necessary, private me so as not to steal this thread.

Ar, what's the tv licence? How do you get a tv licence? do you have to drop your tv on a trolley, stick some L plates on it and push it round the driving course??

Ps sounds like you English have it bad... we do get allot of very booring english police shows on the ABC here in Australia. But you guys make great documentories and the new Doctor Who series, wow, awesome, great work!!! (although dr who isnt screening here in Australia at the moment?)

Hey, do you guys in Australia at least get the latest Battlestar Galactica? It can't be all bad if you get that!

BTW, I don't get it on TV, I always download it (here in the US).

Na, battlestar galactica only lasted about 4 weeks in prime time before the networks decided they had to make room for even more hospital, lowyer and police shows!

I kept up with it for a while in the late tv slot before i realised i didn't like the plot anymore. Yea um i think it has gone from a defiant battle against all odds to somthing more like watching a cat play with a helpless mouse - not my kind of thing.
