General Homsar's "Whine and Rant" Board!

Need to blow off some steam, but don't think mass genocide of Torians will do the trick?Don't worry, because this is the board for you! Here's my rant: That hundreds of monumentally stupid lawsuits pop up every day, and some even make it to court. For example: Filing HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS against hair salons that charge more for women's hair-cuts.

and next time you tell me to get my source get your own too

I did. It's wikipedia. It's in my above post.

It didn't become the CT scanner, they used similar technology granted. And no, seriously LEARN TO READ SOURCES. Hounsfield conceived his idea in the MID 1960s.

While his idea was more than likely influenced by the pioneering research, saying "it's now being used in hospitals" is completely wrong.

this is an attack from the same person who told me to go and shot myself

That's not an attack. That's calling out bad posting. I fail to see how this is a personal attack. I didn't say you were a bad poster, I said the posts referenced were junk.

Not an attack.

He said, albeit untactfully, that you were incorrect. No more. If you do not like his posts, just ignore him.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD YES. DEAR BUSH: WE'LL LET YOU OFF THIS ONE.

Iran's foreign policy pisses me off.

Second world nations were the communist ones.

First world = US/Europe
Second world = Communists
Third world = Africa

Given they've told the UN where they can shove it, I highly doubt blackmail would have done much.

Oh, except get them invaded. I'd stick with the whole "forcing war to make us look bad" aspect tbh, it's Iran. Not like it's something they wouldn't do, and Bush and Blair didn't win any popularity contests during Iraq.

Except the elections, bastages.

I dunno why Iran thinks it can get away with kidnapping soldiers? Also I dunno why Saddam thought he could get away with taking quait?.... oh wait, that's right, quait told America to piss off - America had a military base there.

What makes you so sure Iran actually did the kidnapping? You can't trust any of the news agencies anymore... let alone your politicians and businessmen, but I don't really believe Iran would do something like that on their own. Seems more like an attempt by British Intel/CIA types to try and instigate a war by drawing approval for it among the masses. Think about it. Even if Iran tells the whole world to piss off, what would they gain from kidnapping some soldiers or citizens at this point?
No people, the powers that be want a war and they will attempt any ploy they can to get that war. History proves this time and again.

only one problem with the news agencies going along with this is that most of the news agencies are anti bush and blair.

at this point i think the iranians are hoping that we do attack them then they can say what you just said

You're kidding, right? The BBC is not anti-blair. They're bloody government funded. And unless I'm about to be slapped in the face by a large flying pink elephant wielding trout of death, they're a far larger newsgroup than channel 4 news, channel 5 news, or ITV news :/

I didn't jump on you ffs. The BBC is one of (if not the most) well known British news network. The fact it's not anti-blair is a rather large point.

And honestly, basically all of England is anti-bush. That's not an uncommon thing :/

Yeah, I think the same could be said for us back here in the USA as well... at least I hope the majority is with me on this one.

Actually as a heterosexual male I'm very pro-bush.    Oh. That's not quite what you meant. Nevermind.

I just felt the thread needed a little levity. Also spring doesn't hurt either.

This last bit of comment has brought about MY rant(s)

Government. Politics. Bureaucracy.

I'm tired of my life being legislated. Want to put a swimming pool in your OWN back yard? Better make sure it's allowed by six hundred small statutes and laws. Want to drive your car? Oooh, you forgot the eighty dollar registration + wheel tax (that's how much it is in my county, anyways) because you apparently don't pay enough taxes on gas or enough taxes when you bought the car. Also as a 20 year old male I have to pay $140 in insurance every week to drive my car legally too. (Mind you I've never had so much as a speeding ticket, much less an accident, I just happen to be male and under 21 so they can discriminate against me.) My car was $500 when I bought it two years ago - I pay more to insure over a year it than I did to own it.

I'm tired of politicians being paid ridiculous amounts of money to sit in a big room, argue with each other, and accomplish little to nothing at all. Being more concerned about how what they do makes them look than whether it's good for the country. Politicians are no longer "By the people, for the people" they're "By the people, for themselves". Theres not a single one out there on either side of the aisle that represents me - they can say they do, but rich jerks sitting in a comfy room and counting their cash do not represent those of us who have to work brutal demanding jobs every day five days a week with limited vacation time - congress takes recess what, every 2 months now? I had to work for six months before I could even START to earn vacation time at my job. And it sure wasn't a "recess" of weeks. Also, even if Congress makes no noticeable progress on bills, they still get paid. Do you know what'd happen if I made no progress on my job? I'd be FIRED. Which is what we should do to every politician in Washington - we should FIRE them and get new ones if they don't pick up the pace and do their job - representing us, not their wallets.

the state of utah was thinking of limiting people under 21 to one per car of one of them was driving and no one over 21 was in the car

Actually, the politicians are paid to sit in a big room and argue with each other. It is the way the system is designed. If you wanna be pissed about something, be pissed about how few of them are bothering to be in that big room arguing with each other. Face it, it is when they manage to get along and agree that stupid or scary stuff starts really happening. Not that I do not agree with your overall sentiment.
