LogonStudio Vista Arrives!

will this work on a Vista system that is a member of a domain?

I'm not a Vista user or anything, but I can't seem to figure out how to get into the Logon Vista gallery from the Gallery page, only the XP one. The only way I can see to get to it is through the link in the first post. Maybe I'm having a blonde moment.

The Gallery links at right don't seem to "get" that they've a new friend. Use https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?libid=65 for the weekend.

And, yes, Phoon, it should. It also should be happy with x64 Vista.

Seems to work perfect here on Vista x32. Great Job!

Works really well...I've made about a hundred already....just change the wall.  

One thing I've noticed, when I apply one when Vista is running, all the icons on my dock...latest free OD...disapppear. They will come back by restarting OD or just changing the background. Something you might want to look into.

I've got Vista Ultimate x64 on my 'puter - I loaded this new Logon Program last night added a few screens and sooooo far it works perfect with Vista and very easy to use and fast too . Great Job with this - Thanks

As the developer I should probably note that, as this is beta customization software, it is possible that things could go wrong - though it seems from the above that it's working just fine for most people. If you do run into troubles, we need you to tell us so we can fix it!

The most likely symptom of problems is a black background when logging in. To rectify this situation, select and apply "Windows Vista Default", or try another logon screen. For the highest compatibility, make one that uses based on an image that is the same size or smaller than your display size. If the problem prevents you from logging in, turn off your computer, then restart it in Safe Mode by pressing F8 repeatedly before the Windows Vista boot screen progress bar appears. You should be able to login in Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Command Prompt and run LogonStudioVista.exe from Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\LogonStudio. Running LogonStudioVista.exe /UNINSTALL should automatically restore the default logon screen.

If you do have problems, please let us know at [email protected], noting your graphics display hardware, video driver version/dates, display size, and (where possible) memory size. You can obtain these by going into Control Panel/Display and personalization/Adjust screen resolution and clicking the "Advanced Settings..." button (click Properties and then the Driver tab for the driver date and version). If any particular logon screen or picture did not work we would also like to know that.

day 2 .......... and i have converted about 75 walls ( jpg. ) into logon screens and made a couple new ones and seems to work just find . I run a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024 and I did these in that and a few @ 1024 x 768 - it takes less than a minute to do one - and all is OK soooooooooo far - thought you might like an update

You can only get a copy if you are an Object Desktop customer. Then it will show in Stardock Central for you to download.

Help! Been trying to d'load Logonstudio Vista from Stardock Central. Each time I hit "Install" I get a notice telling me that Windows XP or above must be installed first.I run Windows XP. Any ideas? and any help will be much appreciated.

The message description is wrong. Known problem. You can't download and install it if you don't have Vista. It should perhaps allow you to archive it, though. Note that like all betas, the current version of LogonStudio Vista will expire, so you wouldn't be able to keep it forever anyway.

For now the XP logons are much nicer.  I bet they dont run on Vista .  

Not at this point. Importing would be a nice feature to have, to be sure. For now we just wanted to get this basic version out so that people could enjoy a nice background to their logon (it really makes a surprisingly large difference).

When the heck is someone going to comment on all the new stuff Stardock is putting out that is part of the Object Desktop description?

Oh right.... they are still complaining about paying for skins.

day4 and still working great - no problems   

Doesn't work at for me. It installed fine. It looks like it will work but when I click apply or log off I just get the default background. I even chose my own background and it is listed as one of the logons but nada. I'm running a dell 2007wfp at 1680x1050. Should that make a difference?
