Thanks for the kind words Vukasika. I've seen your empire climbing up the ranks, looks like you're doing well. It would be great to see some competition; it would help both our empires. It seems most the empires in the top are dead in the water, they're letting us pass without a fight. I was also hoping that our push to the top would wake up some of the empires, but it doesn't seem to of had that much of an effect. Maybe with your empire getting close to the top, the other empires will begin to wake up.

Still looking for folks to join. I know there are still a few diehard Dune fans hiding out there. I want to thank all the empire members, all of whom have posted points for the cause. With a bit of luck we should have the Iron Guerillas unseated by the end of the week and start closing in on Ars Galactica in another week or two.

Let's see if we can break into the top 10 by Christmas.

For those who think we are having way too much "in character" funny please feel free to join our happy little band. If you're struggling to find a Dune Universe name or haven't read any of the books, wikipedia "Dune Noble Houses" and you'll get a list of plenty and for those moments when you need to look at something other than a computer screen and would suggest reading anythin in the Dune library. I've enjoyed them all,Frank Herbert's origin works and the ones by Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson. Someone posted that Kevin Anderson wasn't that great of a writer, maybe I'm just not cerebral enough to have noticed. Judge for yourself.

Dudes, you're killing me. Get hooked on phonics. (A) not (I). Kind of like Iran and Iraq. One letter difference between the two. Maybe they could compromise and call it Irap and have a hip-hop battle. Anyway sorry no hidden covert, anti-American setiment hiding here. Just good nature love of the Dune universe story line. Arrakis is the name of the planet Dune.

I'm playing my first ever game on the crippling difficulty. I'm trying to boost my points per game. I about freaked when every empire declared war on me almost at once but I think I the tide is finally turning.

Diplomacy is key. Bribing works well too. A good goal is to keep them off your back until you are ready for war. If they go hostile throw some decent techs at them and it will usually smooth things over a bit. There is alot of tips at The Galactic Core where us Galactic Diplomats hang out (Drengin, Mumble, Vulcan, Weyrleader, and others). With that said, it is empire neutral and you guys and anybody else for that matter are welcome to come over and scan through the GC II threads. Other stuff to do as well.

Yeah I though Hidar was deep. The whole amal project tied the prelude series to the later Dune stuff with the Tleilax produced melange. Hidar was cool and devious, and high most of the time from the way I read it.

So sensitive, you have got to have something better to do with your time but then again probably not.

Actually I thought the pronunciation of Iraq was was more of an "E" sound in the appropriate dialect when I've actually heard Iraqi citizen's refer to their home. Now that I think about it same goes for pronunication of either Iranian and Italian. Maybe you should try that a conversation with person outside of message board petty sniper BS. At least get your "ah.." facts straight.

So chum(p), it sounds to me like you "ah..." don't know much about what your talking about. So again get hook on phonics and perhap have cross cultural experience with a real member of one of these groups, it would do wonders for your phonics. If you take my advise about the conversation in the real world maybe you could even get some good tips on social graces.

So there you have both a lesson on pronunciation and a bonuse round chance at etiquette as well.
