Hello from the Martians!

We are proud to note that we just earned a victory of 14,700 points  . I am starting to learn a few things about manipulating fleets. For the first time my computer was running "slow" as it took a while for it to process turns towqrds the end of the game. The game was fun!
May the High Command Hegemony continue to prosper!

Ha! I get that on medium all abundant maps. That's what we get for playing on lower-end comps. But at least we can play this game with the right settings. Most new games these days are far beyond what my system could handle, and this game is so good that I can't complain about slow-downs.

Hey fellow empire mates, emperor Atticus, et. all.

Sadly, I must depart for several months for a trial. Its been great fun representing this empire. Hopefully I can resume my duties, such as they are, when I return.

I wish everyone the best of luck. This is a great empire, and it's been great getting to know some of you. Also, here's hoping you guys manage to stay in first place for the next few months so that we are still there when I return.

Just finished my 25th Metaverse DL game last night. FINALLY, I started a DA game. Wow, how things have changed. My starting strat doesn't work as well anymore, and I was late to the 2nd phase of the colony rush. Had to quickly research some colonization techs to prevent the AI from grabbing planets from under my nose. I'm a little behind at this point but, I'm first in Tech so I should be able to catch up.

The good news is that I've pretty much nailed down the secrets to getting high scores. The bad news is that there's one really dumb secret that completely dominates everything else, so really, the scoring system should be fixed -- see my post "Military scoring is a bit out of whack". I find it odd that nobody has replied to it yet.

In the meantime, while we have made it to #1 thanks to strength in numbers, it looks to me like that's mainly because every other major empire is now so apathetic about recruiting. I think we could do a bit more to enhance the community aspect of this empire.

Grats DoJ, I hope to fight you for the top spot when I return. Of course, given the current scoring exploit, and the number of games I've submitted, it might not be possible. As long as everyone is having fun out there.
