We are continuing to push ahead, almost to 6,500,000 points, and also HCH membership has increased to 189 members. The Orcas are now behind us, but I wouldn't count them out yet.

We need to develop some "power players" in our empire to really hit the next level, the 10,000,000 point mark. The Galactic Diplomats and the Orcas dominate the top 10 players list, while our highest player comes in at number 23. While the breadth of our empire is impressive, we are going to need some bigger scores to reach the next level. I volunteer to try one of those monster games, who else is ready?

Its not the points that make the Empire. Friendly competition is okay, but remember that in the end its just a few pixels that make up that medal, and a almost two hundred people that make up the empire.

When you get three or four people in the Diplos who get dump a game approaching half a million points, it makes the little people's efforts a little futile in the race for top Empire.
Unless you have people like that, you will never catch them.

Yes, this may be true, but with the number of 'little' people the HCH is made up with, I believe we still have a chance. The HCH is unique among the top empires because it is made up of players who enjoy playing the game, without caring about the score as much. All members of the HCH should take pride in the fact that we place so high, even without having many players in the top 25.

With our active base, we will prevail, and like TGE implied, what matters is our community.

Can't say i agree. We have come this far, and bar for the last week, we have been catching them. Time will tell, but one thing is for certain, the winner is the Metaverse as a whole. The competition between the top 3 is really close and exciting and it's re-invigorating the Metaverse community as a whole.

Besides, the chase is half the fun!

Plus, being able to post a 50k - 70k score in 6 hours of play can be better than taking a month to grind through a 500k game. Don't count out the little scores.

I agree completely with our emperor - the HCH is as close to the "ideal" empire as you can get (from my point of view). I like to play small and medium size games and try various different strategies; when I go above normal - I get stomped, but that is OK, I go back to beginner or normal and try something else. I enjoy being part of a group of players who play on a regular basis and like trying different things. I'm not interested in aiming for a mega score by using gigantic maps, playing evil, abundant everything, and military conquest only (NOT THAT IT'S NOT FUN OR "GOOD") - It's just not my style,(and it is above my ability at this point).
Perhaps it is sort of like the old "saying" (I know I am butchering the phrasing)- it is better to sell 100,000 widgets at $10, than to sell one super widget at $1,000,000. It's not the money(points), its the wide base of sales (games)that is interesting.
I applaud those players who have the desire to try the "megagames", perhaps someday I will be at that point. I wish the best of luck to you in your pursuit of more prestige for our empire. Have Fun!!!!  And yes - it will be nice to overtake the Diplo's - time is on our side!

I'm just gloating a bit. I finally broke a score of 100k on a Medium map. I wasn't sure it was possible on anything below a large... so I'm really happy I managed it.

Wyndstar, can you give me the details of the game you played?

How many civs, difficulty, abundant/occasional......etc

I have been there and there is a message saying that it is closed to new membership.

Thats strange. It must have been a glitch or something, I just went there and was able to create a new membership. Go back and try again, and if you have any more problems just drop me a line.

I also have been unable to join the forum. I tried to sign up with the name Wyndstar using my email. The board said it would send me a confirmation email - but it never did. I still can't log in.

Wyndstar, I will manually activate you. You should be able to log on now. Sometimes the confirmation emails don't make it through for some reason or another. Let me know if you have anymore troubles.

Just posted my highest score to date...47000!!

Well i'm as happy as a pig in......well you get the idea.

Now to break that elusive 50k mark. I'm thinking, Yor, as evil as possible, gigantic, fast tech, abundant everything, tough plus all 9 civs with a conquest victory....in under 10 years.

Should get me over the line? Here goes....

All Right Neilo  ! An excellent score! The members of the High Command are progressing!  It should be very exciting the next month or so - #1 here we come. I am also really looking forward to the new bracket system for ratings in the alt meta. I think there will be a lot more enthusiasm when people can "compete" within certain parameters.
