Have you ever been taken from behind while you were concentrating on a long-ranged sniper shot, and just about peed your pants?

Have you ever been on full alert sneaking down industrial hallways and have yiou heart just about stop when some enemy comes crashing out of the wall to maul you to pieces?

As an older guy, Ive been playing these FPS type PC games for a couple of years now. I swear in those 2 years I have taken 5 years off my life! These are those that have nearly soiled my shorts the most (1 being the scariest). Don't be afraid to admit it!

1) FEAR
2) Doom 3
3) Far Cry

Wolf 3d would scare the living crap outa me waaaaayyy back when. Sure it looks cartoonish now, but back then it was amazingly realaitic, and like a good book...your mind filled in the rest. You'd walk down a hall, and a blue german would jump out and scream somthing...I swear, If I hadnt been so young, Id of died of a heart attack.

oh yeah, me too. I can still play that for kicks sometimes . . . it's still got a lot of fun for being as old as it is. I mean, that sucker pretty much invented the FPS genre.

White Chamber, man! Walking through a hall and having a streetlight has never been so scary.

Seeing unreadable writing all over the wall was scary as hell. And, oh, my favorite part. After you lower the elevator bridge to the main floor, you can't go back to the room you started in. If you do, you see that the elevator console reads, "NO TURNING BACK" in big red letters. I'm not foolin', check it out! It's freeeee!

OMG..>The Flood on Halo scared the living crap out of me. ...I would have to every light on when I heard those things coming , or knew where to expect them...

I'll add my vote for System Shock 2... man.

I extracted all of the audio clips, so I could freak myself out with them when I want... Shodan and The Many, heh...

Can't wait for BioShock. Those guys haven't lost their twistedness from what I've seen of it.
