Good to see you're still around. Seems like the Empire has fallen silent once again. The High Command Hegemony just blew both us and the Qourth away fomr out of no where. Qudos to them but I think we need to pick up that pace here.

Yes, I noticed that. I think it is just that CraigHB, myself and others have gotten so discouraged. There are so many frequent changes made to the way the game is played with all the updates, that you have to constantly be changing your strategies to overcome the changes that they have made in order to make it harder for metaverse players. In other posts frogboy and other devs have made it clear they regret having created the metaverse and have stated there will never be anything like a metaverse in any future games. The devs and non-metaverse players have been so negative about the metaverse and critical of those playing in the metaverse that it is clear they want it to die.

I haven't even tried 1.4 yet. At this point I have no real desire to relearn the game again and try to come up with a new strategy to get around their changes. I am not saying I will never play again, but with all the constant changes they are making in how the game is played, so that we are forced to keep coming up with new strategies to get around those changes, and all the negativity by the devs in regards to the metaverse and their desire to make the game harder, I feel like I am fighting a losing battle and would rather spend the time doing something else. So I have been spending my time doing other things. I have been playing other types of games lately, like Tiger Woods Golf, Madden 07 and Oblivian and Civ4.

I will probably eventually feel like playing the game again some day since I love 4X games, but don't know if I will bother to submit the scores to the metaverse, since I would probably be trying out mods and changing the settings to the way I like them. There is no way I would have played the game 50 times if it had not been for the metaverse, but maybe it is best to let it die now, since it is clear that is what they want.

Hi! I hope it is ok if I throw in my two cents here. Lord Reaper I understand your fustration, it's hard having to constantly change your strategies. For me the metaverse isn't so much the scores, but it is the community it creates. It looks like you have a great community of players, and it would be sad to see that fall apart. I think it is sad the devs view the metaverse so negatively. If they let the metaverse die, it will effectively destroy our communities. It is through communities that we can exchange ideas and strategies, and it would be sad to see that go. I hope you guys continue to play, because I enjoy the competition, and it is the competition that makes our communities strong.

I was just wondering why no one was posting anymore and now i know... I think the metaverse is a good idea, there is job to do to make it better, but as AlexAtticus said is not only about competition is also about exchange ideas and strategies.
I don't have so much time to play (wife and 2 babies to follow   )and i do not post so often either, but i enjoy myself reading the posts... I enjoyed reading MasterU and CraigHB and many other players; trying the strategies and see the different point of views.

There have been comments in other treads but this one has the best examples, not only by frogboy, but also comments by a dev, Brad Wardell, who I think may be the same person since frogboy directly responds to comments made to Brad Wardell and responds as if Brad Wardell's comments were his own.

As Dryo stated, frogboy, Draginal, and Brad Wardell are all the same person.

I am a big fan of the metaverse and hopefully Brad/Frogboy/Draginal will reconsider, perhaps even try to expand it for the future, its unique and excellent for people who have no time for multiplayer, like 80% of GC2 players.

After all he did say there would be no more updates after 1.31 but now we have 1.4x, so who knows.

I know he wants a good community on the forums but I think he over reacts sometimes when he is getting grief off some of his customers over GC2/metaverse/multiplayer/morale/stock exchanges/carriers etc, etc...

He forgets sometimes, that if we did not like the game, we would not be here saying anything and not care a damn about stardock/GC2.

This is the absolute God's awful truth. I do hope he understands that the complaints come from a love for the game. For short periods of time around of a new release he does get a lot of grief. The complaints taken one at a time may not be all that dramatic, but there's just so many of them that they can't help but become overpowering. I just want him to understand that metaverse players are good customers and do appreciate the continued improvements to the game, even though we may seem to have a disproportionate share of the overall complaints.

Also I hate all the changes they plan to make in Dark Avatar, and I feel they make the game needlessly complex at the expense of fun, and will totally change the way the game is played, in ways I do not like. So I intend not to buy it.

I no longer have any desire to continue to participate in the metaverse or these forums do to the negativity by the devs in regards to the metaverse and their desire to make the game harder and harder, as well as the negativity of the non-metaverse players toward us. Because of this, I have decided to quit and deleted all 6 of my characters from both Lord Reaper, and Darth Nihilus (which used to belong to Master U). So, I expect this to be my last post as well. It would seem that the Emperor has abdicated and the golden era of the Galactic Empire is behind us. For those Imperial citizens who remain might I take a moment and recommend the High Command Hegemony to you as a possible alternative. They seem to be a very active group of gamers who are still big time invested in having a good metaverse time and I would find it hard to imagine that all of you share your former emperor's opinion. Of course if there's a Dune fan hiding among you, please feel weclomed among us over at the Arrakis Imperium. Darth Nihilus will be missed. Good Sith Lords are just so darn hard to find.

It's sad to see an empire go, especially the Galactic Empire, and especially in this way. It was a lot of fun having you guys around, you guys made for some good competition for the HCH.

I like to look on changes in the game, as obstacle to be overcome. I enjoy the challenge the changes give me, it makes me change my strategy, which keeps me on my toes.

If you guys can't find a leader for the Galactic Empire, the High Command Hegemony would be glad to take you all in. It also looks like the Arrakis Imperium would be glad to accept anyone that is a Dune fan, and I'm sure there are some other empires that would take you all in too.
