Beta 1.2 bugs

First bug is that in the mod, the leader has been changed. This only works during race select, and then reverts to Alan Bradley's picture. Also, instead of the planet intended names for Earth, the Sun is now Earth, Earth is now Earth, and Earth 2 is mars, etc.

Other than that, the log rules, as does the new UI. EDIT: Ok, partly my stupidity here. I forgot to wipe customrace0 files, and it seemed to screw it up. You need to delete any terran race files or the mod won't work, and just calls everything "Earth"

I no longer get ethical dillemmas or random events in metaverse games... whats happened is this intentional?
Is there a detailed list i can look at to see exactly what is a bug and whats intended?

I also get the "Custom Race" appearing in my games... which is a bit annoying .

UI-bug: Choosing a ship in a fleet, going into the details-window and pressing upgrade will make the upgrade-window appear behind the details-window. Maybe close the details-window like you do with the fleet manager when you upgrade from there?

To all having trouble with the shipyard, please, read the below linked post and especially the part about the missing XML files; if you encounter the same problem (presence of the SHIPCFG file but not the related XML), or some other similar problem, could you kindly report what you have found (in this or in the other thread, as you wish)? Minor races still appear in games, even if you disable them while setting up the galaxy. I have a save file if you need it.

Also... about 1 game out of 3, it's offering to post scores to the metaverse, even though I'm not playing a metaverse game. I even posted one just to see if it would work, and it flagged it as a cheat (i didn't cheat) and flagged *me* as "cake walk" (it wasn't on cake walk). So.... several things went wrong on that.

ANOTHER NEW BUG in 1.20.009b

When I select a planet with a trade route, it gets treated like a stack of ships, and the planet appears next to a freighter in the 'inventory' window, when instead I should see the inventory of the planet, i.e. which ships are stationed there.
I noticed this when I checked an enemy planet for garrison, saw only a freighter, and attacked- only to get whacked by the real garrison! Please take care of this, I had not seen this in 1.11 or earlier.

PS: Like everyone else, I also see the jewelry bug.

I saw that bug in earlier versions. I usually solved it by teleporting the ship one square away, but since the cheat codes are broken in 1.2.........

Suralle, so you're saying if you have a 8 ship fleet vs an AI 4 ship fleet, only 4 of your ships would fire, not 8? Please check your ships that are not firing to make sure they have weapons. If they don't, they will not fire.

If they do have weapons, could you please send your saved game to [email protected]? Thanks.


Also, I am saying that the bad firing problem only happens in follow on rounds, not the first round. All files requested including a word document that contains a snapshot of one of the combat videos have been sent to you all at [email protected]

Have you chosen an ethical alignment? If you do, you will not get ethical dilemmas, but you will get occasional random events.

Would any of the stardock guys care to comment on the ship upgrade problem? The one where jewlery is all wacked out when you try to upgrade a ship?

Hey, love the beta so far. Great work guys.

I was looking for the bugs mentioned above, but have only seen a couple of things. My local copy is unmodded beta 1.2.

1- I saw the "Custom Race" as an enemy, but it changed to one of the standard races after the first encounter.

2- I started a game and sent my flagship out to find planets. ALL of the planets around my homeworld were class zero except my starting world. I found good planets on the other side of the map, but nothing close. A few turns later, the enemy had colonized some of the "class zero" planets, and they were suddenly class 14+ planets. I didn't try to colonize them the first time, I just saw that they were zero's and went on by, so I don't know if it was a text problem or something else. I haven't been able to recreate this one since though.

The internet was down at the office yesterday, so we were stuck only working on the items that we had gathered from the day before, but yeah, the ship upgrade bug is on our list.

Has anyone else noticed that when they start a game in the campaign on Obscene or Suicidal, then hit F5 and check "Misc" under the Stats tab, the AI's intelligence is set to "Normal" or something? I can only play on Masochistic for this reason. Don't know if it's a new thing.

Since everyone here knows a lot about the game, does anyone know why after a battle, using the "4" and "6" keys on the numeric keypad changes the zoom level? When you hit "4" your ship moves left and it zooms out and when you hit "6" you move right and zoom in. It changes the viewing angle on the map too, if you try to use 1 thru 5 on the keyboard to zoom back in.

PirateRob (or anyone who has experienced the ship upgrade and losing jewelry problem)

I am having difficulty reproducing the problem. I've created several designs in different ship styles in version 1.11 and tried them in new and saved games(saved in 1.11) in version 1.2 beta 1.

Please try disabling mods and let us know if that fixes the problem.
If that doesn't work, try re-installing the game to make sure you have all of the hulls and model files.
If the problem continues, please send the saved game where your ship jewelry is lost when you upgrade a ship to [email protected].

You have currently 4 tooltips in the lower left for population and treasure. Two for pop: "Population" over the pop-icon and "Empire Population" over the number. And two for treasure: "Treasure" over the icon and "-Empire Treasure- ..." over the number.

My suggestion is to axe the two tooltips that are over the icons and let the other two cover that area as well. Not very important but would tidy it up a little bit.

As people run into issues, can you let us know if you're running using the example mod, or if your playing without mods enabled? We're having a tough time reproducing these issues, and I can't help but wonder if we're not doing something correctly in the mods folder.

I had the shipyard jewelry problems, and no I don´t run any mods. I have mods enabled in options but don´t have any installed except couple portraits. And I don´t use the example mod either. Sadly I deleted the saved game alrdy where I had these issues, and I suspect my debug.err is not much help. I wait for the 1.2b2, if that does not fix it, ill reinstall.

On the colonies screen the hover over the population has it as income.

Good catch. This has been fixed.

I started a new metaverse game and I noticed that my neighbor's race is 'custom race'! I find this opponent a little too generic.

This has also been fixed. You will not be able to go against custom races.

I am attacking in the first round not all of my ships can fire in the second round or subsequent rounds

Found the reason for this and fixed it.

These changes will be in the next update.

Just ran into an really bad and annoying bug in 1.20.009 beta, smae problem as sam0t, take a look at this. This is how one of my ships appears in the SHIPYARD SCREEN, which is exactly what it's supposed to look like:



HOWEVER, when i press the upgrade button and am taken to the UPGRADE screen, my ship then looks like this:

I had the same sort of thing happen to be when I bought/traded for alien ships in a 1.11 game. I was gifted Totain and Korz medium cruisers. I then later upgraded those allen designs to an upgraded medium ship design of my own which had some SD jewelry. All of the alien ships converted to my new upgraded ship class , but all the jelewry was funky becasue they were trying to stick on alien ship points.
