I'll be 56 next month. Married, divorced, no kids. I tend to agree with GW regarding vanity. My dad was bald before he was my age, but I still have my hair, and most of it is the original color. After being injured in a pedestrian accident (run into by a pickup truck while in a crosswalk), and a stroke a few years ago, I can't work anymore but I think of it as early retirement-- I have a little money coming in, and I have an obscene amount of free time to indulge my hobbies.

Oh and I must add, if you don't smoke, don't start. I've been hooked for 37 years.

I thought I should resurrect this thread. It's been awhile since it's been circulated and I've been noticing a fair number of new names posting lately.

BTW, I’m still 54.

57 years young

54 in July.

I turned 30 last December, and I'm still not used to it.   

By the way, I think it's terrific so many of my fellow players here are around my dad's age (he'll be 59 next month) -- it means there's still hope for him.

Seriously, though, I love that GalCiv's audience covers such a wide age range. It definitely says something about its broad appeal.

Thank God(s)! I was initially intimidated by the question of "How old are you?" and a little hesitant about posting a response, but my fears have melted away. It's a healthy sign for sure to see others, such as myself in the 50+ crowd playing GCII/DL/DA (as well as other notable games).

I've been a gamer for many years (got the gaming bug while using an Amiga 500) and hope never to lose interest in gaming. As long as companies like Stardock exist and take an interest in consumer feedback (which they do wonderfully...thank you SD) and continue to produce intelligent games, I will continue to enjoy this particular hobby.

I thoroughly believe any hobby/interest be it whatever, keeps us all young forever.
