Beta-2A version.
Happened 2 times during my last game. Purposely didn't try to repeat it after the 2nd time. It's as follows:

I attacked a planet with a troop transport in the attacking fleet because of its superiority over the opponent. What happened though is the troop transport attacked the ground 1st. After I failed invasion, I then killed off the planet's fleet with my fleet.
The 2nd time, the same senario but different opponent/planet, I suceeded the planet invasion. Afterwards, the 3 ships of my opponent converted to my civilization's ships.
Didn't try it again, purposely kept my transports outside of the attacking fleets.

I'm not aware if it was the same in beta-1, since I was getting my butt kicked from one side of the galaxy to the next!

Umm, nevermind. I just updated to BETA-2 from BETA-1.... we'll see how it goes. Sorry for the wasted space

BSOD just happened again. Completely different game. This time I know it wasn't tied to an event though.

Ran to the kitchen to nuke some food with the game sitting at the tech screen. Came back 10 minutes later, selected Advanced Mini and clicked "close". At the galactic map, it just sat there. No turn button, cursor was free to move but I couldn't click anything. After a few clicks my computer started doing the "too many clicks!" beep. About a minute later the screen went black. Another 30 seconds after that, BSOD.

I was able to find the core dump this time, but since it was a 100k dump file, I think I'll just mail it in instead of posting it.

System specs:
Intel 2.53ghz
1 gig RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128meg

Had the Up pass the Constructor-speed boost, (base speed 7pc/w) but as it turned out it was a constructor speed-limit as well, I have a fast constructor with a speed 12 pc/w 9 from engines and 3 from bonuses (+1 racial, +1 technological, +1 grav.accel.) when I loaded the game today, all my constructors had a speed of 10 pc/w regardless of engine configuration.

Bugs I noticed in Beta-2a:

- After deleting a ship design while in the "user" view, the list shows *all* designs again while the tab "user" is still selected.

- The "doom ray" icon is missing in the ship designer screen. This makes things confusing because the weapons don't seem to appear in the ship's components list.

- In the ship designers "choice lists" (weapons, defense etc), the lists are sorted sensibly when no tab is selected, e.g. by armor value. But when a tab is selected (like "missiles"), they get sorted alphabetically. This is less practical than having everything sorted by quality.

- "Range" is measured in pc (components list) as well as sct (ship data) - which one is correct?

- Also, the new autopilot lines are very hard to see on my computer (Geforce Ti4200, latest DirectX and drivers). The area-of-effect discs of starbases are still very hard to see.

Huge masochistic game with randomized intelligence, all AIs, all common, no trading, no minors, blind exploration.

Planets of some AIs (Iconians, Korx?, Drath? - can't tell, Torians conquered it in FOW) overspecialized:
Iconians had a planet class 13 with 4 farms and 5 entertainment centers, another one class 10 with 7 research centers (no tech. capital) , one class 10 with 7 factories, no manuf. capital. Iconia V planet class 3 with farm (some other AIs also repeated that mistake on class 4-5 planets).
Korx?, Drath? planet class 9 with 7 entertainment centers.
Most overspecialized planets were without factories, most of them also ignoring tile bonuses.

Playing this latest Beta and the AI Population is having massive fluctuations on Planets. They are jumping from 2.6 Billion to 3.2 in one week with 78% Approval.

I have some small ships hanging out near their planet watching.

I sent 500 Million troops that took 3 turns to get to the enemy Planets. None of the three planets have over 2 billion pop. Four turns later 2 of their planets are over 3 Billion.

My Civilization Manager is Displaying is Displaying 28 weeks and the Planet View is showing 14 weeks on the same planet. This has happened to multiple Planets.

Edit: I am playing against one AI on normal right now, and I went to the Timeline Tab to see how I was doing. Inside I found out that Popularity and Treasury where very odd. Every Vertical change of my graph was the exact opposite of Terran Alliance. So lets say I had alot of money, it would show Terran as having very little money and vice versa.

I just noticed while playing that one of my ships is displaying the Speed wrong. It is showing speed 3 su but in the Ship Details it shows 4 x Impulse Mark III. The ship still travels 9 su however. Not sure how this bug occured, maybe because I was trying to upgrade a 3 su Construction ship. The other ships do not seem to be affected like this.

In the "Build Ships" screen, ships in orbit are not properly identified.

Did a little digging into the Miniturization thing, and discovered that the value of SizeMod is calculated based on the ships size after miniturization, not the base size. So a component with SizeMod of 5 gets enlarged by 2 on a nonminiturised Cargo Hull, while on a 15% miniturisation Cargo Hull (size 63) the same component gets enlarged by 3, so for instance sensors can actually end up taking a larger percentage of a hull after the discovery of miniturization. Is this a bug or per design?

An update on farmin: Noticed that the techs for the last two farms in my list in post #220 is not in the tech tree, witch makes the Andvanced Farms useless as anything other than draining money for production.

Here are some of the 1.010 B2 that I have noticed.

Miniturization is not consistant between components or hulls. Wouldn't it be better to use a multiplier for the hull class. so the size, power, and cost are scalable to the hull size. (I'm thinking mod here)

I would love some pointer help so I know, how the techs effect the components.

Still losing texture maps on some ships when loading them up. to upgrade.

Having the ship editor remove the components, leads to the Capacity Modules Disapearing.

Planet tiles do NOT correctly reflect what the tiles are suppose to be.

Music volume playing at the volume set at initial load-up.

Unable to clearly see the Range circles, Paths and outer limits...(LOL>>>Compared to 1.09)

Not seeing alliances, and having friendly relations?

Keep up the awesome work with these PATCHES!! Hell I always wanted to be a beta tester.

The ship waypoints operation is fussy. Sometimes a ship that is produced and sent to a waypoint stays just outside the planet instead of going where it's supposed to. I think this happens most often when it 'spawns' on top of another ship (such as another civ's trade vessel)

Ghost 'arriving in' countdown timers sometimes become permanant.

Oh it's quite consistant, all components have a SizeMod value, witch is a percentage of the total hull-size the hull the component is placed on (rounded down) this number is then added to the components base size. Ie. a sensor might be Size 2 SizeMod 5, on a size 100 hull it will take up 7 spaces, and on a size 55 it will take up 4 spaces.

I am running V1.1 beta 2.

Upgrading trade ships has taken away the option to put trade, constructor, or colony modules on the ship. What's more; it also gives me a free trade module on the ship, so that I don't need to pay for it with either money or weight. This lets me load it with as many engines or lifesupport modules I want.

You can reproduce this by loading up a game, or starting a new game and open a previously built trade ship and hit the upgrade button. It will take off all modules, but act like the trade module is still on the ship. Load it up with whatever you want, and send it out to create a trade route, and it will work - without adding a trade module.

Another minor bug I noticed , [This happened in both builds (beta 1 and 2)] When creating fleets with multiple troop carriers arriving at the location at the same time, one of them will sometimes disappear. The first time, (from beta 1) I don't remember what I did to do this, but the second time (beta 2) I found that when two transports reached the same "fleet" rally point on the same turn along with fighters, that one of the transports was missing. It just disappeared even though I had seen both of them travel there.

playing the latest beta, large map, normal ai, 6 random opponents, no trade and blind exploration. my problem is that no civs set up trade routes with me even though they had trade researched. i would see freighters fly up to my planets and then turn around and head back out. my economy was great, not at war with anyone, just kept paying tribute cus i could afford it. ai had routes with other civs but not me. never had any games where the ai ignored me tradewise so just wondering if this is an aberration or a bug?

Weird behavior with initial opponent selection: changing difficulty (challenging, tough etc) does not change opponent intelligence if the opponent is not random anymore, some issues selecting and deselecting opponents after having randomized opponents

My Custom Constructors all have a limit of 3 su for speed even if they have engines with 9, 11 or 8 total speed. After launching the Custom Constructors I am allowed all 9, 11 or 8 speed for the first turn. After the first movements are spent, it will revert back to only 3 speed. It also displays it wrong when you look you can see 11/3 su upon launching it. I tried this with multiple Custom Constructors, some upgraded and one fresh from scratch. They all have the same problem.
