Beer pong was the best drinking game i ever played, you have a long way to go,but keep up the good work.

Haha, I'm glad this joke somehow got steered towards beer pong. Although I prefer to call it Beirut. To each his own.

It's a shame though that GalCiv2 is such a terrible drinking game.

Playing an old versio of the game - free (or $40... I have to wonder if you really paid for it since you havent updated)
Probably using drivers so old they're written in cobol - free
Overstating a prtobably user-initiated error - free
Making nonsensical comparisons - free

Showing yourself up as an idiot - priceless.

LoL!! that was so funny. Alot of you sound young in context. Arrogant even. not all, but some - you know who you are, more then likely it would be the one's who would post directly after this particular post who'll be the most offended.

I bought the game from Amazon.com - it came as is 1.0 - 2 cd's.
I did not know there was an updated version of the game (or patch will have you) - I thought it was being worked on - because when i hit the update button it takes me to a download page with the heading "This is what you will come to see in the new features of Gal Civ ". So, i figured that is where the game is at. Then i got a email from some guy on th forum to Download this software downloader - I don't usually or ever download things like that.

As for the configuration of my computer - its really none of your business what I have - the best I can say is that its an AMD FX 60 with Dual SLI - 7800 GTX's with the DX 9.0c and I have 2g of Corsair PC4400 C2. The rest is as sweet as apple pie.

I play other games besides this game and I have never had hard crashes with them like memory errors and such anyways. That all, So flame me and take the message to heart. By the end of this Post it will have a grapevine affect; just liek above where the post went from hurt feelings to beer pong LoL!

I loved beer pong!

good lord. Not even in relation to the issues at hand you come off as an idiot in these posts indy....

beer pong? way to relate a completely unrelated topic. "LOL", were you really "laughing out loud" when you wrote that? "young in context", I don't even understand how that applies to most of these posts (and to be honest you come off as 13). your posting under multiple names to discredit the game is amazingly clever too.

it's a shame you're having problems with the game but rather than trying to contructively solve your problems you're trolling this forum. Bugger off.

I DONT regret buying the game, However I will say that my game crashes nearly every time I play it. Hopefully, with time, they will get all the kinks worked out. Untill then, Well quite simply, I play anyway and just deal with the crashes though I have lowered the number of turns I take before the game auto-saves

Knights of the Old Republic was the best 3d space game I have ever played, you have a long way to go, but keep up the good work.

huh.... that's funny. Aside from the crappy mini games I seem to remember just about all of the game play for Old Republic restricted to non space environments (inside a spaceship, planet bound, etc). I hope you're spewing out sarcasm that i'm just missing because that was not a space based game.

Well, posting the debug.err file could really help to understand the issue. Some people have got crash that were easily spotted when analyzing their debug.err file.

BTW, CTD hunting can lead to very unexpected results, as seen here https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=107245

Is it Stardock Central you are refering to? BTW, it allows to get incremental updates (contrary to patchs in the download area) and has a resume download feature.

BTW, GC 2 isn't a 3d space game. It is a 4x space game with 3d rendering

Of course it's our business if you actually want help. Post your debug.err file. It will contain all the driver information as well as the source of the crash and someone may actually be able to help you. Assuming you actually want your problem fixed.

I did not know there was an updated version of the game (or patch will have you)

Oh, yea, update the game. It may just fix your problem assuming all your drivers are up to date. You can have the most smoking rig in the land but if your drivers are a year old it won't matter.
