C'mon! who wouldn't like it to fight battles as the commander of a fleet?? I would, since I'm not the commander of a fleet -- I'm the Emperor, the President, the Supreme Admiral. For Heavens sake! I just can't

Implementing tactical combat into a GC game would be the absolute best way to make sure I won't buy it. Galactic Civilizations is a STRATEGY game, not a TACTICAL game -- you are not Captain Picard, you're Admiral *insert name here*. If Stardock released a tactical RTS game based in the GalCiv universe, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. But I will not pay for -- not even download for free -- an implementation of tactical combat in a game of strategy . It would totally disrupt the
Squeeee! $8.95 for increased content to work with, ship design wise? Abso-freaking-lutely !! I'll buy any that come out! <3 The ship design is my favorite part [and, ehhh, the part I'm best at], and having more material between expansion packs would be glorious! <3 <3 <3
Your transgression has been far too severe, Psio. You have insulted the Gods of the Stardock Pantheon. Prepare to be nerve-stapled! ... Nah, just kidding. We all make mistakes.
whats a terror star? A Death Star that can blow up entire star systems.
The title is incredibly, hilariously ironic.
Wow. Ignore the food bonuses and build a factory or two on this planet and a Starport. That Manufacturing Bonus has turned that little "worthless" mudball into a valuable manufacturing center. Make use of it. ^_^
Heheh. Speaking of Earth clones, I once had a game with no Terrans upon which I discovered Earth -- and it was the home world of the Dark Yor! Looks like the machines did take over. Nice planet you've got there. Can do an awful lot with it -- I recommend turning it into a population center, as many others have.
Brad has occassionally let slip about an idea I've heard called "Galactic Federations" that is basically a real-time strategy game. I'd play it, but I would absolutely NOT buy an expansion -- or even download a FREE one -- that added tactical combat to GalCiv2 [I'd actually buy a Multiplayer one, by contrast]. I'm the Emperor! The Supreme Admiral! Not the Captains and Commodores. Leave the actual engagements to the Kirks and Picards of my civilization.
The Korx might make a good proxy themselves, honestly. They're relatively manipulatable, so you could probably have them and the Drengin fight it out, then walk in a pick up the pieces -- at gunpoint. Which of course would require that you build up a better fleet to take them out. You might dump a second proxy in on both the Drengin and Korx, if possible. Three way wars can be very interesting.
Oh, forget all those. The Microsony PlayCube X-olution 2600, with its full digitalizing of your body and insertion within the game world, beats all those.
At the very least this might be able to be modded in. Unlike the Life Force Resource in GC1, which was removed for being overpowered. Not that I'd like to have the Lab tile in the game...>>; No, I'd prefer the Resource...
A human cannot visually see with the eye purple and green stars, so from a visual point of view there are no purple and green stars. But in this game you don't just play as humans, as far as I can tell. Not that I'm arguing, honestly. I think it'd be neat to see the stars as the "colors" different rac
I hope you guys at Stardock consider selling T-shirts. ^_^; I know I'd pay to have a t-shirt of the Korx and Drath.
My favourite find was on the Drath Legion's homeworld..... you would have thought that after EVOLVING on the planet they might have noticed a giant precursor starship just lying around Well, since the Drath didn't evolve on Dratha, your argument is kinda moot. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc
Why are you government officials always complaining? Altarian delicacies are so rare in most other sectors, yet they sell them in mass quantities at low prices here! Especially the delicious Verrish dish that was first prepared, like, 6,000 years ago! And of course, they have a better grasp on cola flavoring than Earth does. And their clothes...oh, don't get me started on their clothes. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/
You guys are incredible. Your dedication to this game is just so awesome! Are you going to take a day off soon?
I noticed that the Terrans still built one of those annoying orbital fleet managers on a bonus farm tile though! Tell me, how many Entertainment Centers and stuff would've been needed to keep the morale of the population from going into the toilet? How many factories and research labs would've needed
i still see no point in playing any difficulty above cakewalk...you don't get anything special for doing it. Of course not. After all, playing a game in which anyone with any level of skill pretty much can't lose and will steamroll the AI is more fun than a challenging, exciting game where you barely
Enlighten us, Brad. We've already insulted the Drengin with a different pronounciation. Let's try not to shame the Arceans any longer.
I'm not sure the event CAN happen to the player. It'd be, like, "easy win" if you did get it, honestly. Hunker back for a while, let the bonuses build up, then wipe the floor with everyone else. I certainly HOPE the player can't get it...
I think this random event grants the race that receives it a +1 bonus to a civilization stat every turn...or something like that.
I've always just called them "Ar-Shuns". Of course, I used to call the "Dren-jen" the "Dren-ghin", so my track record is currently zero to one.
Asteroid belts would be neat, reducing movement and interactive nebulae.. They were planning this, but I think it became too complicated for the initial release. They might add this sort of stuff in later in an expansion, though. ^_^
Wait, Stardock's in Detroit? I thought they were in Michigan! ... Detroit's...in...Michigan? ...they have cities up there!?!?
