I have to toss in my two cents and say that I also like the forums. I have had my problems with them, but overall, I like coming to the Galciv2.com site and looking at the front page news, checking the journals, and browsing the forums quickly. I do this just about every day, and sometimes multiple times a day. I also like the medals system that is tied into the metaverse and the fact that these forums are in the same system as JoeUser. These forums are very appreciated. As much as I like A

I have written to SD on several occasions about the issue with the Mouse not working in the corners and received a mail back telling that the Mouse pushing into the corners of the screen could not be fixed in 1.1 but would be fixed in 1.2. During the beta of the game, this was a major concern for me, also. I was so used to using edge and havin
The campaign is not the primary focus. Where was this implied? Note to self, never mention any expansion pack details until we're ready to release the whole announcement since people will read in all kinds of things. My apologies, Frogboy! My understanding was that the campaign would be a major focus of the expansion, by including two new
I think creating an expansion that focuses on a new campaign as its primary focus is a mistake. I've never been one for campaigns in TBS games, they are too constricting. I'd much rather you focus on improving the United Planets, epsionage and other game mechanics. I hate to say it, but I agree with waitingtoconnect. I am sure lots of people h
I got a message while playing my last game on 1.1 which said that a new movement had swept through the Yor. They turned from an evil race that was wary towards me to a good race who befriended me right away. I thought it was awesome!
I love the game, but I also agree with the first 2. I believe in Galciv I you could see where the planet was located relatively easy in the planetary production screen. Also, not only is it hard to upgrade ships in a stack, but you have to move constructors to a tile by themselves to get the "Construct" button to show. Maybe 1.2 could address these issues.
I voted yes, simply because anything that Stardock releases for Galciv II, I will purchase! Pretty lame, I know, but that's how it is! I just want to give my support. I mean, I have donated $20 over paypal for lesser programs. Stardock deserves my pizza money as much or more than any other company. I probably won't play multiplayer that much, and would rather have SP content, but I would pay $20 for any expansion. <img src="http://images.stardo
Everytime I zoom in, influence goes bye bye, at 200+ zoom. Yeah, same thing here.
Noob Question: Where do I find this "journal" or "history"? In SDC, click on Galactic Civilizations II in the games list. Info about the game will appear in the bottom frame. You should see a button that says "History" in the top right corner of that bottom frame. Also, the journals are o
It's a Beta FFS. At this rate they'll stop providing them. Exactly! IT IS A BETA!! It will be buggy. The WHOLE purpose of it is to find your crash bugs, ships out of range bugs, Ctrl N bugs and every other bug that us peons can find before they release it as final. You are testing this patch, so i
I really like this game, but saying the AI is good or top notch is 'insane'. Only two types of people will claim the AI is good: 1) Those that can't play very well (the AI was great before I started pumping out colony ships fast and grabbing resources and stuff, now the AI stinks to high heaven) 2) Fanboys and people who be
I thought the number of starbases you can build was linked to the logistics ability. It is, but once the number of starbases exceeds your logistics ability, the next starbase will cost over a 1000 BC to build. So its possible to exceed your logistics number, but it costs!
Yeah, I have seen several games where I got a popup saying that there were pirates in the galaxy, but I have only been attacked by them once. In the game I am playing now, the Terrans are at war with the pirates, but I haven't seen any yet.
I'm not sure exactly what you asking here. Are you asking how to get a list of each component on the ship, or are you asking how to see a ship's stats?
These changes look amazing! I love the option for blind exploration, the new ship builder improvements will be heavenly, and the fleet manager is a godsend. I can't wait to get my hands on the beta version! Good job, Stardock!!
Actually, while I disagree with him on the specific issues he mentioned, the original poster does have a point; GalCiv II needs a lot of improvements. For instance, I'm disappointed that I can't pick wallpaper and furniture for the inside of my ships. Also, I can't manage the crew member's individual happiness, or watch th
I think the main point that many people miss is that they were not FORCED to buy this game. No one made you spend your hard-earned money on Galactic Civilizations II. All of these "Major Problems w/ Game" are design decisions that you could easily have found out BEFORE you bought the game. If you don't like the way the game handles certain aspects, then don't buy it. Granted, Stardock is ALWAYS open to suggestions, but no one has any right to decla
So what your saying is that once the route is established, the ship is no longer neccessary? Boy. That was a big concept to miss. I build a ship for every trade route, and leave it on the route... one ship per route. So I can build just one freighter and send it a bunch of different planets to establish trade routes? <
I have 81.98 drivers and the game works fine for me. Same here.
I'm glad to hear that there is a 1.X.2 on the way! I love Galciv2, but I absolutely suck at it. The Yor are stomping me on Normal level right now. I can't wait to see what the update includes. Go team! *Slaps Stardock on the rear*
The forums keep double-posting comments that I leave on other's threads and when I try to edit either of the duplicate posts, I get an error. It has happened to me on 6-7 different comments. I am using the IE 7 beta on Windows XP SP2. Here's the error page: Server Error in '/' Application. --------------------------------------------------------------------
(Huckdogg, this is not a good place for bug reports, this is a news post. ) Thank you, Datum, I will move the bug report to the bug report forum. My reason for posting here was that I couldn't delete the duplicate comment, so I turned it into an explanation. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Ew.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid
I commented on the PowerUser.TV site, but I just wanted to say thanks again for putting effort into side projects like this. They are very interesting!
Yeah, it has become more standard for game saves and other user specific files to be put in the My Documents folder. I may be the only person, but I like games to do this. For one, I know where to go for all my user-specific files such as save games. No more figuring out which company made the game and then finding that folder in the Program Files directory. Also, when I uninstall a game, i can safely delete the directory that it was stored in without fear of losing my saves in case I want t
I love it how what one person consideres a good idea another considers a bad idea... From what I remember this was designed this way for a very good reason... But I guess you can't please everybody... I think it makes more sense the way it is. If you research lasers, you are ONLY going to get better lasers... if you research ship fleets, the only thing you are going
