Vogar for the win... :) Waypoints are handy and I've just figured out some of this stuff myself.
I recently had my most powerful Jagged Knife event. It was near the end of the game, and I was just in the points-building phase. So I had killed all the AIs except one, who was down to one planet. I had 505 planets and the Jagged Knife event happened, stealing 165 of my planets! I had no desire to play 4 more hours on a game that for all purposes had already been won for a while, so I reloaded an auto-save. Sentient species taste better...
And I thought the nine pla
You could set Rally points on what you wish to upgrade with constructors and set one star base producing for each "point" you wish upgraded. Have to manually cut it off yourself though.
The Thalans colonized Mars on me once when I ignored it in favor of colonizing better quality worlds elsewhere in one of my first games That happened in my current game. Poor AI, doesn't it know that it will be the first planet it will lose. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIG
I voted Gamespot but I heard it from other places are well. My decision to finally buy it (on-line) came from the e-mail from Stardock. Kudos to you guys - Gal Civ II is a dream. Knight
You made it, mate!!
As far as impeding ships, didn't Gal Civ I do this with like a tractor beam module you could add to your star base?? ** clears cobwebs from between ears **
Midnightsun, that was the answer. Changed my XP computer resolution and wah lah! Appreciate it man. This came after I reinstalled the game from scratch (my disk came in the mail.) Changed the h/w mouse deal. Both didn't work. Again, I thank you all very mucho.
Thanks all. I'll go back to the last version. I wasn't sure that I could do that thru SDC but I'll give it a try. I think the McAffe deal is just when the program checks the Internet but I'll shut it down. The tip on manually updated the options is great as well. I looked and couldn't figure it out. Needelees to say, I tried many, many things. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gi
This forum editor is not quite right - To the above message from me: My mouse will not work at all. I can't even get to the options part of the game to change to hardware mouse. I have a Geforce 6800XT with an AMD64, 939 pin machine that runs everything under the sun but I cannot even exit this game properly. I saw back in FEb 2006 this was noted as a potential problem but it's a real one with me. I have used Windows
I posted this in the Gal Civ II forum and I am reposting here. Quote - I was find until I updated last version. Prior to that, i changed as not to use a full window as Galactopedia crashed my games when I switched back and forth. Uninstalled gsame, reinstalled and I can't get my mouse to respond to even set options to hardware mouse. Catch 22!! WTF. Geforce 6800GT. This looks likes its been an old problem

I appreciate all the insights in these posts and have learned a lot. I just recently got Gal Civ II and am on my first game but I've been playing it with a Gal Civ I mentality concerning ships. ** Where the hell is the technology tree that lets me build battleships?? ** Good stuff guys.
