Try starting the shortcut or the exe with "run as". Right click the exe or the shortcut and select "run as" and then you'll have to use your user account creds to give her acount permission to "run as" you. If that doesn't work you'll probably have to upgrade her to "power users' or possibly "administrators".

Hey Hi, this is not meant to be smart but check that the selection dropdown in SDC shows this game and not something else. IIRC it defaults to TGNET which of course won't work with a GalCiV II serial #.
Yep, I don't put any extra stuff on my ships, just what they need to function. They could look like jelly donuts for all I care. It's the numbers that count. I also play zoomed out and only use close-in for selecting. Zoomed out makes it easy to spot things that you could miss up close. I spent my young adulthood playing P&P games from SPI and Avalon Hill, also played early computer games like Empire Deluxe, Perfect General and the like so I'm used to
I hope anyway. (WinXP) The only running issue I've had is background music popping and breakup when I would go into the Civ Manager and view the Timeline screen. It started with just pops but if I stayed there long enough the sound would breakup and then affect the sounds to the point it would not recover when I left the screen and affect all sounds afterwards.
