Thank you. Found it.

I pushed toward getting Xeno Entertainment because a couple of colonies just weren't very happy. Okay, one was at 5... So I got the tech and rushed to the two colonies in question and ... no Entertainment Network. So I get to look forward to having serious production, research, economic and population growth issues with no solution in sight. Any ideas why this is missing?
This whole thing looks like someone got tired of reading complaints about how micro intensive fixing all the AI planets turned over to you was. Makes fighting a major war worthless because if you win you get nothing.
Except if I remember clearly, if you have them assigned to one of your planets they have to be reassigned first and that requires some resource and if you don't have it -- tough luck. Even reading the fine print isn't helpful since it didn't say that anywhere when I read it (a while ago, true). I have found the entire assignment/reassignment thing for citizens in general to be less than intuitive.
You can also add to any one of the production areas mentioned by assigning Citizens with the desired specialization to the planet. Put it in the Empire area for a global 3% increase or on a specific planet for a local 30% increase.
I think the current limit on money forces you to make strategic choices raising the limit would make too easy. A small increase might work, but set it too high and you remove all challenge from the game. As for limiting the number of wars you can be in at one time: No. I presume with this you really mean to limit the number of races you can fight at one time. If there is an alliance of four or more very weak powers a strong adversary would eat them alive piecemeal and never be at risk
It would be nice if the AI learned to use an exploit after it was used on it, but this isn't an heuristic AI. So while it may use your tug to move a fleet faster/farther, it isn't likely to stack them and separate a ship from the fleet for a long solo cruise. PvP, on the other hand... Yeah as soon as someone spots you doing something like this you can probably expect a massive assault on your undefended core planets. I hope the devs spot this ad look into it. Otherwise I see a
I think the scorched earth idea is not a good one. To badly amend some famous words... The Empire has fallen: "we will fight them in the asteroids; we will fight them on the moons; we will fight them in the colonies. We will never surrender. I can see a small percentage of colonies committing suicide, but others will choose to not surrender and fight on. A small cluster of them could group together and sue for peace -- as a puppet, perhaps. Still ot
First off I assume your government is Galactic Empire not Stellar Monarchy. Research some key techs to raise approval (easy to please etc), change government type (it will reset elections) and build port of call (raise tourism income) everywhere.
Why not stellar Monarchy? It looks nice, gets ships built quickly and doesn't have all those bothersome elections.
Since Intrigue went live I have been trying to run a stellar empire, really... For some reason I keep going broke. Anyone have any ideas on stopping this terrible state of affairs? All my colonies are in the black (in the latest attempt) and most games have always been solvent on the colony level. I don't have all that many ships only enough stations to provide adequate raw materials for construction. My starbases cost 10, ships cost 8, and the coloni
Annoying at best. I should be able to reassign as needed, sort of reduces their usefulness to my strategy. Thanks for the answers.
I sent a citizen to a planet and now want to move it elsewhere. Trying to figure out how to do that ended up with me sending another one to the original planet, and I don't need that one there. Things like this should be simple and self explanatory and yet I still keep running into them after how many years?
Banned for thinking rednecks keep "hours."
Definitely a steep learning curve. I'm still trying to figure out how to increase Research and Construction higher than 15 in the first hundred turns. I am being out produced in just about every area.
Banned 'cause all this banning in making my head ban... er, hurt.
The random resort is an annoying inconvenience with a small beginning fleets as well.
I agree. All communication screens with aliens should include how they feel about our empire. A busy Emperor can't be expected to remember whether they found us tasty, or want to sell us their offspring.
... Snip ... Otherwise, don't call it an ideology system - doing whatever you want, whenever you want to get immediate or long term benefits for your civilisation is not ideology.
It is an ideology. It's called Pragmatic .
I believe in the concepts of primary Ideology and Ideology purity. As you accrue Ideology Points, whichever major Ideology has the most of your points is your primary Ideology. That is how you get diplomatically labelled. The ratio of your primary ideology to your total points is your purity ranking. This raises your diplomacy rating with factions of the same ideology and lowers the diplomacy rating with the two
Why would every race start a war with you over some other race's home world anyway? They might not even LIKE those aliens.
The two simple solutions to this issue are: Trade for it; Take it from someone else with that Fleet of ships you have hanging around your home world to impress the locals. Why do so many people think everything needs to be "balanced"? Obtaining resources is just part of the challenge.
I have the Steam version too, but hate being chained to Steam. My internet goes and my game goes. Also less resources being used up by the Steam client, I`m old school, etc, etc, etc.
I get a "play off line" option for most games when that happens. Does it not work for GC III?
Easy current solution. Queue Station Garrison then Queue Aid Research or Aid Economy. They only repeat if there is nothing else in the queue...
Problem is that won't tell you when your list of production requests is finished. There was once a list that told you what had been finished on each colony and shipyard as production finished. The was such a convenient feature, I knew it wouldn't
Yes. You need to manage all of the spooks without having to reopen the screen every time. Not changing selected sorts for lists (ships, planets, Star Bases...) would be good as well, but at least the info list you selected stays on the catagory.
A small investment in a new concept called DOCUMENTATION could help. They have these things called Tech Writers who can do that. (I used t be one and I'm sure they aren't extinct yet.) The game is completely different than it was when it was released, so I think it may be time for what seems a small investment to give people a chance to understand the newest version.
