Oblivion had one of the worst character development systems I've ever seen in an RPG. Oblivion feels/plays like a MMORPG - except there's no other people and just NPCs that are dumber than WoW players - which shouldn't be possible. Pretty graphics aren't enough to make a game worth buying. I didn't care for Oblivion - although if one really needs to get to sleep it's great at inducing boredom and a comatose state.<br
LEADER MkII
I don't know about you, but putting the fact that a game is moddable quite easely, could that count for the game's shortcoming, with the ' The community will arrange things' won't make it a better game
Agreed: but other than that, good thread.
Amen to that: Well I suppose it's because the makers are 'out of the loop' so to speak, I.E, some unknown small studio from Poland, who must put more faith in making a good, entertaining and ORIGINAL game than making the accounting/marketing/upper management dept. creaming thier pants with all that money.
Yeaj, still didn't met any Salamandra with fisstech, but I looked around the internet, found the recepie for it: so I'll make some...but first, I moved to the swamp, and I'm gonna be busy a while running around (last play-throught, I was at the same spot: kinda dropped since I had the original, super long load time version instead of the EE now) Never even completed Chapter 2 due to the long, LONG load times the original had, but I am looking to go beyond on this run; p
Side note: just did the Beast this weekend; and yeah: one Aard, it got stunned, then he was dead. Now I'm knee-deep in chapter 2; investigation's a long one..and can't get fissteck since I didn't killed those elven squirrels..damn.
Even funnier story: The Witcher gets good after the terrible first chapter. Oblivion and Fallout 3 never get good without mods. Oh look, it's yet another generic subway/cave/ruins filled with the same 2 enemy types. GOTY.
I agree with that last part: Sure we got mini-nuke launchers, but let's NOT use them to clear the streets and force us to go throught subway tunnels/unguarded choke points instead
No scaling I agree: nothing like fighting 3 bums in the city...with them wearing Dwarven Plate and wielding Magical warhammer, because you're level 4 now, can't have them with thier normal knives and rags, where's the challenge? I got one for 'ya; where's the realism? I'm thinking they'll have some big shot hollywood actor for voice over, but he will surely dissapear/get killed 10 minutes in the game..sure was like that in Oblivion/FO3...then back
Jealous huh? I would be too were I you.
Amen to that. We got it bad in Quebec, a blind is no longer blind, but 'non-seeing' (loose transdlation), a deaf is a person with a 'hearing deficiency', a person in a wheelchair in no longer a person in a wheelchair, but a person with 'reduced mobility' etc etc... Like my french teacher used to say 'A cat is a cat'
I'm German-French-English-Irish-Iroquois, if we have to split blood here
Leader, what race do you fit under? I'm an American with the usual European mutt background and Jewish. So, I hit a lot of those. As for Americans, you can call us yanks, though I think we're such a hodgepodge of cultures (not that anyone is really a single culture) that you can use just about any of those. Of course, if you want to hit caucassians in general, you can call us Crackers, Honkeys, Hicks, etc... but many of those really
I am still evading your clever silent posts -I got a signature as well
Well, there's the race card we can play too: I won't list them now 'cause I'm at work, and you know, don't want to bring too much hassle...yet. Can always go with Yank for the US folks...
Thanks Druss. I,ll try it tonight or tommorrow night (as tonight is Star wars D6 night bwahahaha)
Since this is some trouble shoothing section for Silent Storm (which I re-installed last week) Here's my beef: I installed the game, started an Allies campaign. I did 2-3 missions wiht 2-3 random encounters, saved and quited the game. Come next day, I start up the game, and notice that my saved game is no longer there. Even the autosave enter/exit missions are outta whack, being the autosave from my first game, in which I did not
I downloaded WC3:Reign of Choas and the expansion The Frozen Thrown [..]
There's your problem, Warcraft 3 was a drop from the 2
Weak. I get at it a good hour or so, might as well get the pelasure going than having to restart everything 10 minutes after it's done huh?
Very nice, I never had that one: I wish you don't get the `Max speed of all ships is 5, or the Universe tears itself apart' Global Event..or whatever t`s called, I forgot.
Yeah, no wonder I stopped playing most 'redux' games: 'New' World of Darkness, D&D 4th, shadowrun 4th edition....the only game who seems to have passed the 4th ed mark without crapping all over was Call of Cthulhu, and even then it was just diffrent art and typo correction more than a whole re-doing of the system, which is why it`s the one of the rare game where everyone can have a diffrent edtion and we`ll still be able to play a game. And saying WoW invented it al
Quoting LEADER MkII, reply 89 Yeah WoW is becomming the base of every damn new thing; look at D&D 4th edition; if that`s not 'MMO, the pen&paper RPG' then I dunno what is. Well really it's just that a lot of games have been embracing the concept of clearly defined class roles, where one class is designed to absorb damage, one to deal it, etc. This is something that has been around to some extent since the be
PS. In case you didn't get it, D3 is just as much a sequel to WOW as it is to D2, in terms of target audience. They want WOW players to buy it, they want D2 players to buy it - but if they have to CHOOSE, they'll take WOW players any day. So while a "fan" might have bought several D2 copies (hell, I even did that), you are but a drop in the ocean compared to the WOW customers.
Yeah WoW
