Not only do they make it longer but it also increases the potential for lag, so for purely performance wise reasons mines should be toggleable, and adding an option to turn on/off capital ships is actually a pretty cool idea now that you mention it. If you would like to play with, you play with, if you'd like to play without, you can play without.

Kudos on a good thread with possible substance OP. I'll echo the OP - Be able to set a maximum number of mines in a gravity well in increments of 5. - Set a maximum number of mines per player. - Make it so that once the limit is reached the mines first placed will despawn (or blow up), when new mines are placed - Adjustable strength for mines ranging from Very Deadly to Annoying. Annoying = Not enough to kill off an entire fleet of ships
There has to be a cap on the amount of mines each player can put, so you can't just drop 1000 mines there, and 1000 mines here and rinse repeat for every system you pass. A number of 40 mines in just one system is still very limiting and takes a while to clean up, whilst having 200 mines in one system makes it unplayable (on my pc). I do very much like the idea of mines, I just do not like the way they are currently working.
Sounds pretty awesome dude.
Gonna have to agree with shadow, even as a non modder, it would've been nice to be able to have two installations, to switch back forth between Entrenchment and vanilla.
I prefer Vasari as well and I still dislike them.
I totally agree, and further more I suggest for a new Game Option to be added. Mines or no mines! They really suck.
Mines suck x 100
Instead of fancy smancy boxes for games they should give you a sticker with the EULA on, most PC games you buy you lose your rights to return long before you ever install it, namely when you undo the wrapper or the tape on the box. Not a fair way to do business. If I buy a pair of pants I tried them on first, and if I don't like them, I can say no before I even paid. If said pants break, I can return it within the guarantee period. If I sell these pants to a friend along with the rece
