Hey guys. Yes, that's right, I've finished part 4 for my project. The post is entitled "The War Room". It's a place for new players to ask any questions that they have about strategy in GalCiv2, and it gives the veterans a chance to help out with their problems. Notice: This DOES NOT replace the new topic in the ToE forums about helpful links around

Greetings, fellow strategists. The War Room is a thread that will allow any player, new or old, to post strategies that they've found useful, or to simply ask questions on what to do in a certain situation, etc. Yes, this is another part of "Project Jumpstart", the project that I am currently undertaking to help revive the forums for GalCiv2. Any new players who have questions on certain things that they should do to help better their gameplay, this is the place to ask them. Any veter
@ whismerhill: I respect your opinion on the MV. I personally think that it's great, but like I said, I respect your opinion. Also, thanks for the info on how to exploit Google. Much appreciated. Best Regards. ~ Cypher ~
Personally, I'm thinking more along the lines that the AI can't bring any of its MILITARY ships into our own space, unless we were allies or something. If someone that you didn't like just sent half of their navy into your country, would you honestly just sit their and watch it happen? As for the whole colony rush thing, I think that colony ship should get passage through any borde
I just released the 3rd part of my plan. The post is entitled "The Mod Development and Exchange Center". This will allow people to have a general forum where they can talk about everything Mod. There are also some helpful links in that thread that will help people to get around the Mod section of the forums a little easier. Check it out sometime and any comments that you have would be much appreciated. Thanks and Best Rega
Hello all you gamers out there who are creative enough to create their own Mod, or gamers who want learn about the different Mods out there. This is a thread where you can do just about anything Mod-related. You can talk about cool Mods, ask questions about Mods, or simply update people on how your Mod is coming along. This thread can be used as a somewhat "general" forum for everything to do with Mods. Even if you don't want to talk about your Mod here, just drop us a reply if you've
Hey guys: I just wanted to let everyone know that - as a 2nd part of my "Jumpstart" plan - I have created a post entitled "The Metaverse Recruiting Center". This will allow anyone new to the game or to the MV to make themselves known or ask some MV-related questions that they might have. Any comments that you've got would be much appreciated. Thanks
I would just like to add that I have just created a new post entitled "The Metaverse Recruiting Center". This post is for anyone who is either new to the game or just new to the MV. You can go there and make a reply to the thread if you have any questions related to the MV or if you are unsure about what empire you wish to join. It'll help you get noticed by the active empires, who will then try and help you decide on which empire to join. Thanks and Best Regards. ~ Cypher ~
Hello new recruits and enlistees. Welcome to the Metaverse. This forum post is for all newcomers to GalCiv2, or just newcomers to the MV. If you're not sure what empire to join on the MV, make a reply on this post and the leaders/senators of the MV empires will take a look and offer you the chance to join their empires. A Brief Overview on the MV The Metaverse is one of a kind in that you can play on it whenever you want, and yo
If I am understanding your question correctly, then yes, you are the Korx. Those extra 8, 9, or 10 ability points that you can spend before the start of each game are just there so that you can set your abilities to what you think will be most beneficial in your game. You are only counted as a custom race if you actually click the custom race icon on the screen where you pick your race. If I have totally misunderstood the
Very cool AAR. I think it's very creative. Great job! Best Regards. ~ Cypher ~
@ Galacerty: Yeah, I know this kind of stuff happens - I'm just trying to keep this game popular until the next version comes out. Then I won't have to worry because the forums will probably go insane with people who love the new game. Also, I think that any new player that views this post will be encouraged to hang around for a while. Best Regards. @ ElZoido: Yeah, I'm hoping I can stir up a little more interest with this post. The state of the forums is great, but there a still a fa
Along with what tetleytea said: If you are in a "cold war" (which I assume means that an AI is at 'wary' or 'hostile' with you) it is sometimes helpful to get that AI in a war with someone else. Several good things can come from this: The AI's opinion of you improves a bit because its too preoccupied with its current war. The AI's opinion doesn't change, but it may still be too distracted to attack you. Even if the AI declares war on you, its military is str
Hey Loups: Great job with the win on Suicidal. Thanks for making a post about what you learned, too - it'll help out everyone who reads it. I'm personally terrible on any level above Tough, but I'll try some of your strategies in the meantime. BTW - I'm not sure if calling the Altarians "terrible" on Suicidal meant that they sucked, or that they wer
@ GJDriessen: Great to hear! I really appreciate the reply - enjoy your game and have fun conquering the galaxy! Best Regards. @ puntarenas: Hey! Have fun with the new game - thanks for the reply and have fun knocking some aliens around! Best Regards. ~ Cypher ~
Almost forgot - Every now and then, I am going to just make a quick reply here, just so that this post gets bumped back up to the main group of recent posts; it'll help to make sure that this post gets noticed by more people. Thanks. ~ Cypher ~
BTW - In an effort to 'jumpstart' the AAR section of this website, I'm going to try and come up with my own soon. I've just got to get a good game going. I going to end up posting it on this website and the ToE site, so keep on the look out in the next week or two. *sigh* This has been a very long, yet interesting day; at least for me. <
All this talk of Galciv2 loosing popularity has suddenly made these forums feel so lonely and empty... SOMEBODY HUG ME!!!
While I am not going to travel all the way to Australia just to hug you, I can assure you that you don't need to worry about GalCiv2 losing popularity. Well, it is, but you don't need to feel lonely. All of us here are obviously
Yeah well in the meantime I will be making ship exspansion packs for the Geckodons, I just uploaded a ship exspansion pack, there will be another one after I finish the Galactic Diplomats ship style and Colonial Fleet ship style, after I release the second Geckodon ship exspansion I will be working on the tech trees for each race except the Geckodons. @ Seth: Considering the popularity of the MV in the GalCiv2 website, I think that even if the Stardock guys didn't want to have an MV for GalCiv3, they know that they would get an enormous amount of angry e-mails from the multitudes of fans that liked the 1st MV. So, long story short, I'm pretty sure they'll have it. I also think that any empires that make it on this MV long enough to see the creation of GalCiv3 will defin
Sorry for the triple post, but if anyone finds that they have been encouraged by this post to come back to the game, you can let me know here so that I have some understanding of the effectiveness of this post. If you want, you can Private Message me instead. Posting replies here will also help you returning players or new players get known by other MV empires, and they may do a little recruiting. And finally, if someone just wants to drop a comment about the post in general, feel free to do
@ Seth: If you're right about us being the last, there is going to be some fierce competition between the empires. I'm pretty sure (for what it's worth) that 'The Raiders' are still going to be around, too. Sorry Seth - I know that you don't like them very much. ~ Cypher ~
@ Silverbeacher: I think you're right. It's great that the true core group of people who enjoy Galactic Civilizations will still be around. Great point. I'm not sure if you consider me in that core group or not, but I can assure you that I'm not going to leave these forums and this great game. Best Regards. @ Everyone: I'm not too sure about what yo
@ Everyone reading this Post: I would just like to add that various players have told me that GalCiv3 will be out anywhere from 2010 to 2012. New Frontiers is expected to come out sometime between this year and the start of next year - so don't worry - the Galactic Civilization's series has many more years ahead of it. Best Regards. ~ Cypher ~
@ Seth: I'd be happy to commit a character to your empire to help with the standings, if you would like me to. ~ Cypher ~
