LOVED the original, despite its shortcomings. One of the best RPGs to come out of Europe for sure. Enjoying the re-release, there's definitely more polish in the title. The only issue i have is that the rebalancing has made the game far too easy. before, normal difficulty was absolutely BRUTAL, but i liked it that way. it really gave a feeling of achievement. now on hard difficulty, im level 24 and basically untouchable. considering the combat gameplay was my fave part of ED, im disappointed

SC2 didnt cost $100M to make (that was a rumour) and if you paid $120AU for it you got screwed. release day, JB hifi, $69.
^^ eh? PC Gamer are hands down the best PC reviewing magazine.
yeah, team speak.
Games definitely have more bugs today, but at least we have workarounds and patches. In the "good old days" these options were not so forthcoming. I agree that there is a massive sense of entitlement these days, and the expectation that software should be perfect at launch. That's not to say I think all games are great at launch or anything, but I do feel for developers making huge games in an age where there's more hardware and software compatibility issues than ever before. I keep a
customer reviews are worthless because randoms are morons and usually incapable of stringing coherent sentences together. i try and read all reviews that are released for a title im interested in, and im yet to experience this fictitious bribery of professionals. taken as a whole, they are more or less on the money with their praise or criticisim when i finally get to play the title myself.
Yeah, i know i sound like a heretic or something, but im one of the few PC gamers that doesn't have a lot of respect for mods. while their quality varies, it tends to vary from bad, to really really bad, with a few exceptions here and there. im not interested in playing some decades-old game that somebody has re-done. i want something new, developed by a professional gaming team which doesn't look virtually identical to whatever it was i played 10 years ago. ive downloaded a bunch of
I'm not interested in Mods, and neither of those look new and shiny enough for me. Certainly not when compared to say, black prophecy.
Yeah, i mentioned it in my first post :P the problem is its a very rare day indeed when a bunch of fans make a game of equal quality to professional outfit. and the freespace engine is more than 10 years old now :( i want something new and shiny.
I know of the case with gamespot and Kane & Lynch (though really, who pays attention to gamespot) and a recent example of a lad's magazine reviewer being told to give something a high score, but like you say, that's hardly wholesale. I think people need to make peace with the fact that reviewers might just not agree with them.
This is because devs pay for the score but usually don't bother to look at the actual review so the reviewer gets away with saying that the game isn't good without losing the advertising dollars from the devs.
Evidence? There's no doubt that business interests can play a part on occasion, but this conspiracy that there's a wholesale arrangement between devs/publishers and game reviewers is bollocks.
Completely disagree; control groups were critical in SupCom.
Not even remotely. I was ranked top 5%-10% in FA for 2 years (which, given its player base isn't particularly impressive, but imo still classifies as "being effective") and i never ever used control groups.

Lol, that's not a proper teaser, its got BSG footage in it haha. this looks more like it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sJrCxD3Zz0 I found another site that references a macross/robotech movie too. Can't find any footage though.
Don't get me started. been starving for about a decade. you could try the one-man evorchron mercenary. i didn't like the earlier projects too much, but seems to have made a lot of progress. http://www.starwraith.com/evochronmercenary/index.htm there's also black prophecy, which unfortunately (for me) is an MMO. but as MMOs go, it looks ok. ht
i dont like MMOs at all, but am still curious about black prophecy. can't be picky when you're starving. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubEB61BqYg8

Lol, since when was GTA an RPG? Divinity 2 would be my favourite RPG released recently, expansion and gold edition coming this November.
If Stardock was on the verge of bankruptcy, do you not think someone would say "They should have put their games on Steam."?
Yes.
Good luck finding Starcraft 2 for a good price. That game is going to stay high priced for ages and ages.
Picked it up for $69AU, which is one of the cheapest PC games I’ve ever bought on release day.
Australia has been in the health care business for a significantly shorter period of time than the US, and has a total population more comparable with a major metropolis than a country on scale with ours.
We don't have private sector health care. We have a hybrid, two tier system that is regulated in it's entirety. The only thing worse than socialism is going halfway. You lose the benefits of a flexible free market industry, while keeping what would be considered a drawback, profit margins. To claim the private sector maintains control over the industry requires that you ignore multiple tier federal, state and local r
