I am just about to finish my first metaverse game. The icon under my posts show 'cakewalk'. I am actually playing the fourth level (beginner?) up from cakewalk. Why does it show as cakewalk instead?
Oh yeah, and if you got the Thalan tech tree in TA, don't place your Hyperian building (the research/factory/farm building) on Thala...the 8 food component of that is just harsh there.
I've noticed that the AI always seems to put it on Thala. The last three games I'v played I conquered them and that building was there. I was playing Drath and was able to keep the morale up by building the....(cant remember the name).....well, it gives you extra tiles. I used those t
I think they would then have to revamp the Racial Victory medal to include those two races, making people w/ just DL unable to get a Racial Victory medal.
That makes sense. Darn though, cuz I play %50 of my games with the Krynn and the other %50 with any war-mongering type combo I come up with. I'm really starting to like the Drath with their War Profiteering.
@LedZerggelin: I went and double-checked the folder itself after I hit the Delete button, and the custom race was most definitely gone.
Cool. Thanx for the update. After I got home from work I saw I left two races undeleted I had I really liked of the ten or so I had created. Those are the ones that showed up in my random game.
That table is in the manual. It lays out the negatives or bonuses the AI gets at each level plus the algorithms they use.
Krynn and Korath won't be listed since the medals are based on races from the base game.
I wonder if they will put them in for 2.0
FROM IN GAME: On the Race Creation Screen: Click the LOAD button Select Race that you want to delete Hit the DELETE button that is along the bottom (next to Save, Load, and Cancel) Warning will come up saying "Are you sure you wish to delete this race?" Click YES
I have done exactly that recently (I had like 10 races) BUT I think they still show up when you set the game for 'random
Hmmmm, I just looked at the general legend for the medals and such. How come the Krynn are not there as a race logo? What are the achievement medals for, they are just listed as: achievement 1, 2, etc.
1) Is there any minimum difficulty level you have to play on? 2) how do you save and reload? 3) How to start one? 4) Is this where the medals come from? 5) what cant you do to avoid being flaged for cheating? I am going to try my first game tonight
Hope that gives you some ideas.
Hmmmmm, I migh try this. I have yet to play with the Arceans
Hmmmm, the devs will answer that.
Hey, I know what u mean. The AI is brutal unless your one of those lucky people whose brain functions in binary code. I myself have worked up the ladder from Cakewalk - Easy - Simple - Beginner - Normal and now I am on Challenging. I have played at least 3 games at each level so far with at least 3 different types of races and win options....Military, Influence, Allies.....etc. I do this to get a better feel for the game. There a some just ridiculous people ou
and at work i was using the ship creator to create a bunch of ships
Hope you dont do anything important like.....doctor or national security agent
Man, good thread. I never knew this about surveying.
The brackets which weren't there yeterday. It had said +8 speed.
Yeah, that was definately an edited post.
I also believe that your name is a play on "LEDD ZEPPLIN". Is it not?
That is exactly what it is.... My favorite band ever = Led Zeppelin My favorite race in a video game ever = The Zerg Hence, Led Zerggelin!
Do you DL and DA on your laptop? Cuz you need them to run ToA.
Given that anomalies regenerate, I upgrade the heck out of them - I just use construction vessels for the speed, and send them flying across the map sucking up 1%-5% bonuses every turn.
I am so gonna try this.
Okay now that my amusement is over (thanks LeddZerggelin).............
No problem, I'm a funny guy.
I don't bother managing them after my basic mapping phase is complete
When u have a surveyship set for 'auto-survey' and the anomalies run-out it gives you a message that says....blah, blah, blah, and your ship sits there. If you dont turn the auto survey off will it automatically go into action when new ones appear? I alway wondered why you would put a survey module on a ship and waste space.......now I know
Anomalies regenerate in TA, so keeping a survey fleet active is very worthwhile.
Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa........ Anomalies regenerate? Holy crap, I never knew that. How long do they take to do so? Do you keep more then one survey ship around and spread out to catch em where ever they pop up.
+8 to speed? I don't think that's an option. Would be nice though, +8 speed arceans would be unstoppable.
I wonder if he meant the 8pt cost for +2 speed at the abilities menu
If anyone does actually upgrade those pieces of crap, please amuse me.
After all the anomalies are gone I usually upgrade them to a constructor ship
But, what's the module? I can create the starbase, but I can't add the one module.
There are no modules for ascension starbases.
I recently finished an ascension game on an Immense map and it had only 5 crystals.
What is it like to beat the game that way? Rumor has it that it is very anticlimatic. Maybe they will put in some new endgame cut scenes in the future
You can only have one starbase (and module) per crystal. I believe there are crystals 5 per map. If you put a starbase on a second crystal then it would read different, but I'm not sure exactly what cuz I have never gone for more that one.
