This was an interesting viewpoint and a good read. You have obviously put a lot of thought into what you have written here. (I liked the Epicurus lead in, it grabs the reader.) I'm wondering if that was clear. To put a finer point on it, consider the Inquisition example. At the time, people thought that was the will of God. A few thousand years earlier, people thought that the Israelites committing genocide in Palestine was the will of God. Right now, m
Mason, have you considered you might need company on your travels again? I know how much Socrates meant to you through your blogs and we all felt we knew him through you. I am loathe to open old wounds at this time, but do so with the very best of intentions I know you said you would never have a pet again after you lost your beloved Socrates, but pets are wonderful company and are also therapeutic for depression sufferers. Dogs make wonderful companions, they hang on your every wo

Old is as old feels - or something like that. You are not old, you have a ways to go yet.
His character was damaged by her, and them believing her when a reasonable person would not. And so she should be charged and made to pay his bill.

Are they in another dimension? I thought of that as well, to be in two places, alive on the Island but dead back home, I think the two planes collided and crossed over dimensions swapping with one another? It does keep you guessing!
But I won't let it kill me like it did my father. A good attitude to have. Depression can be very debilitating, it is good you are able to recognise the signs and get help early. I hope you get through this okay.
I cannot remember the truth, did a plane pick up the non Jewish passengers? Gosh, I don't know, it was so long ago now - net search? Were Shakespeare around today, he would write a play about Idi Amin and his antics, what a work that would be. That is an interesting idea, it would be quite something to read.
The "doctor" was a completely fictitious individual - thus, what would be the point of making up an ending to a made-up character? Dr. Nicholas Garrigan (James McAvoy), is fictional — though he did have a kind of real-life counterpart in a former British soldier named Bob Astles, who became one of Amin's closest advisors and was known in the British press as "Amin's white rat . Giles Foden interviewed Astles for the book of the Last King of Scotl
From your description of Poland, I now understand why they are flooding into the UK. It sounds fairly horrid over there.
How annoying and what a lack of consideration! I hope they manage to work things out smoothly for you and give you a good schedule.
I have not seen the film Oh Doc it is well worth the viewing, you must try to make the effort to see it, he really is good as Idi Amin. It is also a fairly good history lesson too (without being boring!) .
A memorable performance and a film I will watch again in a few months time.
