I was gonna give it a try as i usually enjoy games like this, and TVS games in general. But it doesn;t Accept hotmail as a valid email address, so they can go fuck themselves.I played Battlecorp a while back when they were beta testing their game and it was similar and a ton of fun. with planets to invade battles with multiple players, then they made it a Pay to stay thing and i threw it out the window.
That sucks. They do take gMail, that's what I use as my MMO email on

Oh sorry, I'm accessing it through the GalCiv2 website, so I just assumed it was, as the address is https://forums.galciv2.com. Apparently this same thread is accessed through other Stardock websites as well. Now Dragonic's statement makes more sense. :)
looks too close to text based for me pass
Honestly, I don't like text-based games either and I can tell you that this is NOT like a text based game. You should try it.
Meh I'm not into turn based games. Others might like it but not for me.
It is turnbased, but the turns only last 1 minute, so it's about as RTS as a turnbased game can be... if that makes sense. It's actually pretty fast paced. (Wait a sec.. this i

Hey all. Just wanted to make the community here aware of a fun and free online game I play called TinyWarz. It is similar to table top Battletech (with all the minute details taken care of for you, thankfully) and, from what I've heard, Advance Wars. Very fun, fast paced and addictive. Give it a try and hope you enjoy. The link provided gives me a referral if you sign up, so please use it! Much appreciated! TinyWarz<

Okay, well, it's been a year since I posted on this. What I have to say now totally agrees with ArkCeleste. To give you an idea: I was ranked #8 Overall on my server, which, at the time, was the first or second most active. My Corp was ranked in the top 10 (I think we were 6th at one point). All that being said so you can see how much time and effort I put in and how addicted I became to it. However, the idiots on the game, as mentioned by ArkCeleste, made it totally miserable to play.

Oh, I forgot to mention that you can also form "Corporations" that allow you to team up with other players to help establish your empire. Kind of like clans in WoW.

Hey all, I don't think that this was posted before, so forgive me if it has, but I've discovered a free MMO that I've found to be pretty enjoyable and should appeal to many of you here since we are all GalCiv2 fans (obviously). The MMO game is called Starport: Galactic Empires. I don't want to go into a long explanation of the game, so I'll try to describe it in terms of another game that just about everyone should be familiar with. Think of Sid Meier's Pirates! only set in sp

Brad, you would be totally justified in locking this thread. It's quite possibly the most ridiculous thread I've read in a very LONG time. You have absolutely nothing to apologize for. You guys and gals at Stardock do great work and have always put the players first! I wonder how many people here would have gotten their panties in a knot if the site redirected to CNN? I imagine there would have been a thread along the lines of "What was wrong with the site?" and that wou

Great guide, thank you. Saw it thru another thread, but glad to see you keep updating it. Thank you, again. Thanks! I'm glad you found it useful! What other thread did you see it on?

BTW one big tip I learned: you know those anomalies that give 25% research to the tech you're researching? They have a distinct look to them--kind of like a derelict, wrecked starship. Go after those and switch your research to Impulse Drive right before exploring them. You can always switch your research back right after exploring the anomaly. This will give you +25% to a

First of all, thanks for the input! RE Difficulty level Usually I play on Challenging, Tough or Painful. Galaxy size ranges from large to gigantic. I always play against all the races. I leave the initial galaxy settings, other than size, at the default levels. It really depends on how long I want the game to be. RE Factory vs. Colony Ship purchases I've never really considered

Hey all. Just wanted everyone to know that I have recently completed the "Paths To Victory Strategy Guide" for GalCivII. I would be interested to get your feedback and suggestions on it as I plan on updating it occasionally. *Keep in mind that it is really intended for newcomers to the game to help speed up their learning curve.* I wrote it with the mindset of "What would I have liked to have known the first several games I played?" With that said, also keep in mind that thi

I thought this was funny when it happend. I was playing an open mode game on challenging when the Drengin declared war on me. Their declaration of war was a piece of classic video game history, here's what they said: "All your bases are belong to us." I've played, I don't know, like 100 open mode games and had never seen this before. Thougt it was funny. Anybody else see this or something like it? -MI64

I had the same prob. Installed forceware 91.31 and screen was cut in half. Here's what I did to get it to work. (The videos finally work for me too ) Go to nVidia settings on start bar --> performance & quality settings --> set image settings to "performance" --> set anisotropic and antialiasing to "app controlled" --> in GalCiv2 options, set video to 0 antialiasing. I did this and
