In order of importance to me: 1.I've never seen another 4X game with an alignment system, as far as I know it's unique. More depth should be put into this. Put more things to research in the tree on the alignment branch. Make it so that after you select alignment you still get to make choices as was mentioned above Also I've never seen the AI actually research Xeno Ethics (keep in mind I play with very slow tech rate and tech trading off). 2.Put more depth into, and give player

Could be, I've gotten the Debug Message: Error flipping back buffer to primary buffer. Debug Message: Device lost message a few times. It's too bad because I was going to win that game.
I'm playing Dark Avatar version 1.50 as a custom race. I load a saved game, them when I'm done doing my actions for the turn (or even if I don't do anything) I hit the turn button. Sometime in the next turn the Korx contact me, this is when the game goes black and windows reports that it needs to close (sometimes it won't close and I have to kill it from the task manager). It always crashed just before or during the KoRX talking to me. Debug Message: Version v1.50 Dark Avatar
I'm tellin' ya. That 866 processor and that MX 400 are workhorses! I was able to run all sorts of games that shouldn't have been able to run on that system!
Yep I know what you mean, up until about a month or two ago I was running it on 866 Pentium III 512 MB RAM Nvidia GeForce MX 400 64 MB It was pretty obnoxious to play, but it ran, I found that pretty amazing.
You need to create a character, you can go to your account, click view my profile, mouse over to Account, then click edit characters from the drop down menu. You'll be able to create a character from there.
What about the "unnamed fantasy TBS"? that some speculate will be the spiritual successor of MoM, if that still in the works?
I must add that Iam not trying to bash DA as a product Iam simply trying to improve it and the next generation of games coming from SD! It is my belief that through consturctive critism we as a community have a way to communicate our thoughts to the developers, after all they are making the games for us and themselfs ofcourse. It was not my intent on making DA l
ok I see, thanks
Ok I looked at it again and the native ability is different for each planet. I guess I don't know what native ability means then. I thought it was something else.
I know, but shouldn't the native ability still be 40%? It started at 20%, I added 20% with race customization points, 20 + 20 = 40, not 32.
I agree, the UP is a very cool feature, it just needs to be fleshed out a little more (like with the ability to make your own proposals, or coerce other races into voting your way.) I think at least this much should be changed: there are a few issue that come up for vote that impact the evil races negatively, the limiting trade routes for example. What if the majority of the surviving races are evil? I hardly that an issue that would hinder the majority of the people who proposed it would actual
Just started a new game and though I'd try playing as the Arceans. I noticed they had a +20 moral naturally so I decided to put another 20 points in figuring I'd be able to raise taxes pretty high without taking a bad moral hit. Well I look at my initial colony and their moral is 99%. I mouse over to the number and it displays the statistics, but it says that moral from "native ability" is 32%. Shouldn't it be 40%? Sorry if this isn't a bug and my native ability is 8% less than I though it would
Awesome!
I'm wanting to post some scores to the internet, the only problem is my "gaming" computer doesn't have an internet connection. I might be able to get the game to run on my other computer, but it would be a pain to play. My question then is this, is it possible to start a metaverse game, save it, take that file to another computer, complete the game there and somehow take the endgame save (I assume it saves at the end because I see a save game called ENDGAME in my save/load menu) back to the othe
I would have to agree with John Hamp, imo there is no comperable expansion pack. The closet would be (in my opinion) Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, but it an RTS and I hesitate to really call those strategy games, but even that doesn't come close to the quality and quantity of Dark Avatar.
Another thing you might try to do is colonize the planets furthest away from you and then work inward, thus limiting the number of planets your opponents can get, don't worry too much if they get a colony inside your borders, you'll probably be able to culture flip it later in the game.
Do you have the Dark Avatar expansion? If so you should have AI use max CPU, its more difficult but many times more fun.
You own ship designs are usually much better than the default ships you unlock, because with miniturization and the later versions of weapons and defense techs (laser III or Armor II for example) are also smaller, letting you put more on a ship. Also you can custom design your ships to combat your opponents, for example if they are using beam weapons and shields you should use shields and mass drivers or missile tech. If you want a higher defense then you should play as a good aligned race, (jus
Ok, Ok, I think I understand now, I was just overthinking it a bit. Thanks a lot.
I'm wondering if it is possible to add a race via the raceconfig.xml file rather than using the custom race creating feature. I'm trying to make a Dark Altarians race with similar bonuses to the Altarians, but the problem with using the custom race creation is that it won't be possible to get certain bonuses as high. For example I want them to have +20 econ +15 moral +25 research and +something to espionage, with the super warrior ability. I want those things to be set and I want it to have 9 p
I would like it if you could research something that would allow you to build the kind of base you want on the asteroid. I mean, instead of just giving industry bonuses you could (with the appropriate research) choose between industry, economy, research, etc. making them more like mini resource nodes. Well that's my two cents.
The Korx are always one of the most powerful races in my game, if they survive the early game that is. It always seems like they have a huge military, but unfourtunatly they don't seem to react to "culture attacks", my preferred method of gaining planets. I did notice one time however that they had started to build a Galactic Privateer on one of thier planets (I had just flipped it), but this was pretty late in the game and they only had one enhanced factory on that planet. I tried to fix the bu
Oh. and is there a way to tell what party other civs are using?
I have a few questions regarding political party modification. 1. Can you add more than 4 bonuses? I tried and it only displayed the last four bonuses in the race selection screen. 2. How are penalties correctly added? I know there's a penalties field, but I assumed that those were the penalties accrued if you lose control of the senate. 3.What is the transparency color for the political party logo png image? Thanks in advance.
