There is one planet, that has like purple sea's and a really off green colour... drives me mad because I can't seem to find the texture in the GFX folder. I've replaced Earth with the Blue Marble graphics, I use the May one, so I can see the UK. I've also replaced every other 'M' class, and quite a few of the gas giants and moons, but that specific graphic still shows up. So yeah, I hope we something new.

Go into the games options, you'll see a box that mentions mods. You have to select the option asking the game to use the mods folder. Then at the bottom of that section, you'll see a browse button, select it, and a window will open with a list of the mods that you have placed into the Mod folder in the game install directory. Select B5 as the one you want, and then it will ask you to quit and restart the game. Once you've done that, you should have the B5 mod activated... and then start new game

If I've got a manufacturing world, I'm usua;;y building ships so I tend to include the word Port in the name. I don't really differentiate between research and market worlds though, don't feel there is much point persoanlly. Naming stations I find is much more fun.

That's okay Renfl, i'm not great at the specular, I find it very tediuos work to be honest, but the pay off is worth it. So far i've been working on the feds and the odd Romulan ships. I have done one borg ship, but i'm not sure what the texture is applied to so i've not seen it yet. The biggest issue I find is how to bring the lighting onto the underside of the saucer so that the registry number is visible... it takes a more practiced artistic touch I think <img src="http://images.stardock.com/

I made a post in the main mod forum, but it didn't get much attention.. thought i'd show you guys something I did. I worked it out on the B5 mod, but due to trek ships, it's much better on them. It's specular lighting, which makes them stand out so much on low ambient. I also made a post on your main forum... sorry if I'm spamming. I love this mod, this is my little contribution. Here's a link to the picture, not sure how long it will stay up though. Hope you guys agree it looks okay. <

Hmmm, i use a basic art prog, so as far as i can tell, i've only been applying base 0. Think i need to figure out how to apply extra layers, then i can have a configurable terran empire NX Thanks for the info Kryo

After spending some time playing the Galtrek mod, I realised you couldn't really play it with low ambient light. After a bit, i kind if missed the specular of SFC. So I decided to go look at the textures for the ships. My first goal was to see if I could alter ships in the B5 mod to have bits on them that matched the race colour you choose. It only took 10 minutes of messing around to figure that out, but after hours of mistakes and swearing I managed to get specular lights on the 1701 model fro

Like I said, there is no deubug file because I tried a new install and the game crashes at the launcher, so the file isn't being created. I'll try the solution from the link moosetek13 provided and see what happens. Thanks though guys for the quick response, it's appreciated big time ^_^

I've got Galciv 2 and the dark avatar beta. Everything was working fine yesterday, but when I click the Exe to load up either vanilla galciv or DA I get an error message. It doesn't even load to the game options, i.e, start game, update, serial etc. I can't seem to find the error debug file. Edit... Because the game isn't even having a chance to load up, there is no debug file. I reinstalled everything, so it's a clean install. The only issue I can trace it to, is

I am loving the mod, but I seem to get the odd vanishing ship. This seems linked to the invisible parts. Though the ships do seem to appear once you've reloaded. I was curious, is there a way to bring all the parts back into the mod? I'd like to have the option of having them there if I want. Perhaps later editions could be coupled with UDFM mod? Either way, this is outstanding work and well worth the download time.

I bought galciv 1 and HATED it . So to get number 2 was a gamble for me.. I bought this game at the same time as Elder Scrolls Oblivion, and it's Galciv 2 that's still installed, along with Civ 4 and dawn of war. I am a genuine convert to the game and stardock, and as a result will get DA... also, to not have it, while seeing you guys talk of how good it is, will make me feel left out <

I'd like to suggest the planet texture pack by Fallen_Warrior from the SFC community too. Not sure if i'm breaking any rules, but I use his textures in my mod games of GALCIV 2. I also adapt his planet lights to replace the stardock ones, and they look stunning. Here's a link to the pack... their almost 20meg in size too. http://www.battleclinic.com/docks/dock.php?start=80&r=other I also take textures from this website: http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/ Again, I only
