Yipes, why do people need every race in every game to be "finely balanced"? Lord forbid one or two races have an edge.

who can you not say hi to at the human spaceport Um, what?
I like miniturization a lot. I'm playing Yor and I currently have 90+ miniturization and I'm not even through all the research yet.
Can someone MOD a McDonalds race? Think about it; +50 Influence, and the Super Isolationist Super ability (Colonize barren worlds (tons of McDonalds in the slums), and the "no foreign ship can travel more than 3 spaces per turn in their area of influence" - this is due to +400 cholestrol level in the arteries of all who eat the local food <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Laugh.g
It works the same for me in DL and DA. If I am in the COLONIES tab, with a planet highlighted, and I close it to the Galaxy map, I am now centered on THAT planet.
but if a country just spams them with KFC's, Micky D's, and Hollywood tripe, they just sit passively by and do nothing. Go figure!!! Works in real life just as in the game muhahaha, everything is going as Ronald McDonald planned.<
At first glance the game is more than great, its amazing. Which is part of the problem. I only buy games that have had good reviews. This one had great reviews, but I think the people that rated it spent a limited time playing it. As you play the game more, you notice little things, that I can deal with. As you play more, you see many more pitfalls. Big pitfalls, that I can't deal with. Like the dread lords that randomly appear on a map. You can't kill them, they appea
Diplomatic Victory ..... 5600 pts Influence Victory..... 6800 pts Military Victory ..... 11900 pts Hmmm .... what's the message here? ....that war is good.
How very relevant this is for my family right now. I took all video games from my son (11), and he went cold turkey last week. Why? Because he was showing signs of addiction. Even though I kept track of his playing time, the gaming took over his life. When he wasn't gaming he was trying to find ways to do it, or thinking about when he was going to be able to do it. I won't go into all the details, but basically if you su
I've been digging spies, and I've used them to devastate enemies. My working strategy so far is to build and keep spies until I'm actually at war with someone. By then, I've hopefully got around 10, and I drop them all on their planets, and it effectively cripples them. They can nullify one or two, but not enough. I've literally totally shut down smaller civs this way. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that if a planet has starbases and asteroid fields fee
I've always hated the Mass Driver effects. They should be like yours, NOT like slow, floaty blobs that appear to slow down and curve towards their target!
When I try to use ctrl-n to set up a new game, the whole computer locks up. Is this normal, or do I have a problem? I can get out of it using ctrl-alt=del, but it takes several attempts. The reset is working, for whatever reason it takes a bit of time to do it, so if you really don't like the initial set up and have to control-N a few times, its going to take a while...a LONG while. Sorry 'bout
I would be honored if you could point my grammar and spelling mistakes. English in not my native language so you would help me a lot in improving my english. okay. I play on Inteligent it's spelled 'intelligent'. (sometimes as an escort is just one ship) this phrase is a bit awkward. i'd suggest "sometimes just one ship as
I dont use it anymore. Gives wierd results like changing my opponent setups and sometimes the rules get changed. It really shouldn't be doing that to you. Besides, going all the way back to the main menu to start a new game and going through all that and then wait for it to load for 5 minutes is too long for me. <img

Lovin' it.
OMG now THAT is how mass drivers should look. Stardock should really have a look. When will it be ready for us?
Funny how he only plays on "INTELLIGENT" and whines.
I have been waiting a long time to get DA, somehow, after reading so much posted about it, i'm not all that enclined to buy it anymore. Mainly because the things that impress people don't interest me. Especially espionage. it is nice to see some positive feedback though. i would like to hear more? So far the things that i have heard about it that actually impress me are the mega events and this new asteroid mining system. Other things li
I'll be six months before any of us really need to get Vista. Even then, only some of us will need it.
He's right, it's the same. Lazy at best The good news, smjjames, is that you can mod the spech to say anything you want.
Jagged Knife event is insane! I just had a game (gigantic 9 races), where Jagged Knife took 103 planets, 7 of which were mine. I had 19 at the time. I lost Man, research and eco capitols as well as 3 or four wonders . I tried to soldier on and actually took 3 or 4 back but I ended up starting a new game.
When this happens to me and I'm not ready or willing for war, I offer to buy the starbase in question. Depending on many factors (influence?, military?, relationship?), they may or may not sell you a starbase. I've had success buying especially Influence starbases then destroying them. If they won't sell you can either counter-build your own or do nothing and hope the AI won't hit the magic number (4.0). I have actually declared war, killed one starbase, and s
^^^ I don't use any hot-keys. also, like you, settings I chose never happened. I turned mega events in a new game and I still get them. I chose to play the game "windowed" (as opposed to full screen) and that doesn't work. It stays in fullscreen. why would I want it windowed? To see my CPU and GPU temps so that if the game crashes (and it has twice) I can see if it is a heat issue (not likely to be since my system is watercooled). </DI
Did you use ctrl-N a few times? I used it a few times and it gave me really screwy results. For example, tech-trading was happening even though originally I had selected tech-trading OFF. It also changed a few aliens' personality traits, I believe.
