I am baffled by what use someone could get out of this. Why would someone choose a unique project over simply building another farm? is there some strategy where someone builds 5+ farms on a planet? I don't mean to sound crass, but there must be someting I'm missing

Whew, it's getting pretty testy in this discussion Iceman: Indeed, there are two different storylines. One of the things that Brad hasn't pointed out on this site. but has pointed out on the old calciv1 site (like the opening post, the in-game backstory and stardock history there is a good read) is that the stories are indeed different. He changed the story that he wrote in his head in order to make it more strategy game friendly.
Wait, this doesn't make sense. Why is the guy called Alan Bradley throughout GalCiv2? And if he becomes Draginol, then what happened to the crew of the other ships?
After stewing it over, I think that Alan and Dl are the same guys, and that Brad simply renamed him because he did not have a place in-game to explain that "DL" is his real name.
I'm on this mission now, and I get to Dithir, but there are only three buildings on which I can put a spy? Is there supposed to be some sort of strategy for waiting for the Korath to build another building?
It's tucked away in the GFx part of the Dark Avatar folder from My Documents, works from there.
Thanks Kryo, might I ask which one the Iconian number is?
You can copy the files from My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\ships folder to My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar\ships folder. So it does work? What do I need to do to get a ship from the "Torian" style from Dl to appear in a Dark Avatar game?
Are we able to use Custom ships we made from Dread Lords in dark avater? I'm guessing so, since all the "classic" hull parts are still available, and I have copied the ships from DL onto the DA folder in my documents, but theyre not showing up in "battle of the Gods," possibly because there is no longer the old "torian" design.
oddly, I was able to download any play dark avatar, although I thought it wouldn't be released by a week from now.
Bah! I was expecting a month-long epic based on that main page post.
At the veryt least could there be a primiteive form about it? something ala civ 4 ending?
I've been reading through the Devlogs to get to the backstory of the Galciv2 universe. i keep on coming across a character named DL Bradley. Apparently he is either Draginol, A demigod who uses srting theory to travel across universes, An officer in the Terran Alliance whos topped a traiter form givnign shield technology to the Drengin, or all three. Anyways, is there supposed to be a connection or relation between Dl Bradley and Alan Bradley? WOuld this be why Draginol contacted Alan
The Arceans could be a bit more descriptive (tough?) and I don't understand how the Torians are erratic.
In the middle of my games since 1.4, the battle display for invasions and ship battles turns black. There is a small, visible square where my cursor is. Rather annoying. Is there a readable file with the surrender dialouges so I can check them out?
Racial demographics
Ehh, ... Increase research priority... ... Researching Universal Translator ... We'll have this figured out in not time! In the game files there is a video file that shows a starship skimming an ocean surface, presumably the video to a random event. like other events, the text starts with "meanwhile..."
Actual Pirate presence. Not just the Mythological pirate armada event.
Thanks. I've heard that the Thalan also are involved in an alternate mission, which one do I have to lose to get there?
out-of-game ship builder.
I've made it to the mission "apocolypse" and out of nowhere the Iconians have joined the cause. The game explained teh relationship between the humans, Alterians, and Arceans, while I had to work to get the torians on my team. Does the campiagn go into any storyline-ish detail about the Iconians? I know that there is an alternate mission to Achilles Heel that involves the Iconians and Yor, does anyhting important happen there?
