Oh no. I hoped so much that the map would be 3D this time that I would have accepted both cube boxes or truncated octahedra. But it is once again 2D. This is not Civilization which is bound to a planet's surface. This is a game set in open space and therefore there is a third dimension.
Even in real life, the galaxy's width is so much bigger than it's height, that it can be thought of as in 2D. It's the little things that count though and it's the only reason I can read the tech descriptions after so many years of playing the game!
I'm sure most of Galciv's fans are pretty mature, but this is 2013 internet culture we are talking about... (come to think about it if they can pay the $99 they probably won't be 13...)
Hope the ship design is not like Kerbal. At least now, it doesn't work for me. I like the GalCivII way and if that is refined and made easier to handle modules that's great. Automatic symmetry is great too. Also.... lots of snap points! Snap point, snap points, snap points! That's what makes it so customisable and that's what gives the ship making so much variety. Snap points :)
I'm sure the person vetting out the star names will be pulling their hair out by the end of this and cursing Stardock! [e digicons]:waaaa:[/e]
Indeed, which is why I changed my mind about which version I want!
Thanks for the suggestions guys, I have done exactly that and waiting for their reply/refund. :) (It's a lot of money to pay upfront, but hopefully won't be disappointed, since GalCiv is my favourite of all time and was gonna buy the expansion packs anyway... ;) )
Ok, silly question... Is there a way of 'upgrading' from one founder's version to another? I... may have changed my mind and want more! :P
All those days checking galciv2.com finally paid off :) Super excited and the trailer looks great! I'm looking forward to see how the story unfolds in game, and of course all the other goodies that come along with GalCiv! I feel it's Christmas already!!
A new GalCiv would be awesome and I really can't wait for it :) [e classic]:congrat:[/e]
There he goes, trolling again ;) [e digicons]O:)[/e]
Tis good! Just when I started playing Galciv2 again [e classic]:congrat:[/e]
Well, it seems like a new business model, started by EA, to change customers into a monthly income source. EA CEO sort of said that a while back.
Woohoo:P Congrats! Can't wait for more games to be listed, particularly some publishers (looks at Atari and Neverwinter Nights 2 :P)
That is excellent news. :)
Well, that's nice, that why we are asking :) It would be incredibly good if it arrived on Impulse. From the Neverwinter Forums I can guess that there is a demand for it to be released in this way.
Congrats :P I would love to see more representation in Europe :) [e digicons]:moo:[/e]
Well, even with that I would still be willing to buy it again, since it's about 10 pounds now... Plus I would buy the expansions as well so if there was a bundle pack.....
Nobody want Steam to be the only option! But until Impulse has more high profile games, Steam may be the only platform that some gamers may think about or want. Impulse has a lot of indie games, but the market for those is indeed niche. Any popular games in the store are old as well. This does not make users think that it's a worthwhile platform. I know that the list is continuously growing but it's going slowly.. What we need to 'break the monopoly' is a list of games to riva
Hi all, I actually posted this in the Impulse Forums under the Atari games, but the forum seems deserted and nobody was answering. So, I was just wondering if there are any plans on having NwN2 and any of its expansions on Impulse. I have the retail version of NwN2, but I forgot the disk back home, so I was also wondering if the retail keys are going to be supported for registering on Impulse so I can download it from there, if indeed Neverwinter comes on Impuls
Why thanks JMB :)
I must say that I love this application. I dreamed of it a while ago, and when I saw it I thought "At last!" I had already made a desktop background image a while back that sort of had areas with different outlines so I could put icons of different categories in them. Never really worked very well though:P EDIT: On second thought, I decided to share it with you (reduced the size though) <img src="http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i269/achronous/bac
Logic it would be appreciated if you uploaded the mod somewhere else as well, as the activation mail for registering and downloading the mod at I-mod, is taking forever and I can't enjoy your mod :)
Mine or beths? My cow is just happy to be alive ;)
Hmm, I know it's tough with a friend that never listens. A friend that you think you are talking to a wall. It happens to me as well. But a friendship of 6 years is something that shouldn't be tossed out lightly. Maybe you need a third party to act as mediation between the two of you. A third voice might clear things up. Things that you think (or she thinks) can't talk about to each other. I know I'm starting to hate (maybe that's a strong word) some of my friends for being so stubborn
