You can switch off the shortcut overlay globally via registry. This way no icon on desktop will ever look as a shortcut. If this helps, google for "remove shortcut overlay" to find out how. It is quite possible that there is no way of adding a custom item into the Control Panel desktop right-click menu because it is just that special. Also it would be interesting to know *why* you don't want a short cut. Is there any particular scenarios in which this is inconvenient or doesn'

Shirley, thank you for this. Are you absolutely sure that the link your posted provides information on how to do what you said? The 'send to' menu primarily used to start a program and pass what ever you clicked 'send to' on as a parameter. Yes, windows has a facility to include current desktop in the send to menu (it is included there by default), but there are two problems with this as applicable to the problem I posted in the original post: 1. Try this: - Right click on the 'Control Panel' Icon - From the drop-down menu select 'Create Shortcut'. This will create a Control Panel shortcut on your desktop. - Now you can delete the original Control Panel Icon if you so inclined. You can also rename the new shortcut to 'Control Panel' - Right click on the shortcut and select 'Exclude this icon from Fences' quick-hide' You are done!

Intuitively, I don't think that disabling animation would make it run any faster. It will take exactly the same amount of time, but you won't get any visual feedback as to what's going on.

Feature Request: Move icons between All Users / Current User in Fences Stardock Forums

Hello All, this request could be implemented as a separate program that has nothing to do with fences. However since fences IS about icon management I thought that the developers might consider adding this feature. I'd like to be able to right click on an icon an change it location from All Users desktop to Current User desktop and vise versa.
