I finished up writing the Korath stuff this morning. If you think the Drengin are bad. The Korath are far worse. At least the Drengin think slavery is okay. The Korath have a way of converting the life force of sentient beings into usable dark energy. They also have a seriously nasty planetary improvement that absorbs part of the biosphere, lowering planet quality but providing incredible amounts of production in return. <

So it looks like it's pushed back?
An improvement editor eh? That will go good with custom techtrees/races.
Weren't there landslide polls on this already? The majority voted they don't care about multi-player.
I'd rather have a more polished game later than a less polished one early. Plus, I'm sure a January release will take off some of the pressure of this tight schedule. PS: Wouldn't it still be technically two expansions in one year? PPS: Is beta2 still on for tomorrow?
Even the beta of TA only took 4.5 hours.
The updates don't take that long on dial-up. Maybe 45 minutes at most.
Approx how many MB is the beta, I'll do the beta if it's a reasonable size to download on dial-up..
In the second pic I see a wall of asteroids, perhaps this is a step towards obstacles and choke points.
It looks like those asteroids are affecting borders too. See how the Arcean and Drengin border are curved with the wall? Wonder if that's just a coincidence or maybe their are going to be not only physical obstacles but border obstacles as well.
You know if you guys took an extra month, or even two, to do TA, I think most of us would understand and support it. You guys are on what seems to be an insanely tight schedule
Double post.. Whoops
Oh well. It was only 20$, and It came with spacerangers 1 which doesn't have the copy protection, and it seems like a pretty fun game in it's own right. Maybe I will grab it from TNG when I buy some tokens for SoaSE. Perhaps I'll be less ticked off then about having to buy it twice
The game won't even start for me
Yeah up it if it isn't a huge deal, up the civ cap. And if it is a huge deal, well it's not super important. To me anyway
Your making it hard for me to get over you Cari....
I read that wrong at first D: So anyways... thanks for the patch!
So learn from my mistake, boycott 'cinemaware marquee'
I heard a few people talking on the galciv2 forums about Space Rangers 2, and it sounded pretty cool. So I saw it at the store today for 20$, and saw it came with Space Rangers 1 too. I thought this was a pretty good deal. That is until I went and installed the game, then up pops this cryptic fucking starforce error... Starforce, I thought to myself; yep, I got screwed over. Of course the game won't run at all and I don't want that starforce garbage on my pc. So is there anyway to play the game
So what's new in 1.80C? I just noticed and downloaded it.
I think you got lucky, I didn't get any thing cool like that from anomalies
Cool looking UI
That happened with all the betas too. It showed the previous version as available update whenever the new beta came out. I think it goes away if you restart SDC though
Great, thanks.
The new expansion pack doesn't have the 2 gigabyte limit nearly as much because we've re-done the textures in a way that makes them use a fraction as much in memory even though they are much higher in quality.
Would you perhaps be talking about using procedural texturing? That's kind of what it sounds like, and if so would that make galciv2 the first major game to use it?
These are looking sweet!
So Stardock.... Most gamer machines have more than 2 Gigs of RAM. The ones that don't have XP operating system anyway. I know that XP wouldn't use any more than 2 Gigs no matter what; but I have Vista and I don't have that problem. Do you guys want to update yourselves to the technology that has updated?
The memory wall has nothing to with windows Vista vs XP. As I understand it it's a problem with 32bit processing. So you could have 8GB of shiny ram in your PC and each p
