Thank you. Octavius8, could you elaborate on the interplay between influence and morale/approval please? How (game mechanics) will it work against you, and when? How far does influence spread? If I play on a very large map and have lots of influence in my own core, will it slowly seep out through my outskirts and beyond like a pebble causing waves in a pond, or is it localized, so that my big influence at home will just stay there (and prevent enemy starbases or whatever from harming i

1. A planet with a class of 0 is a floating hunk of debris. Without some interesting terraforming type of tech or tech which allows colonists to build outposts on these planets, I fail to see their point in the game other than slightly cosmetic blobs on the screen. Or am I missing something? Are they actually good for anything at all under any circumstances? 2. I cannot view battles so far. I had two little ships of mine destroyed by a Drenging larger one, and it was only "viewable" f
Full screen is great, but I need to do a lot of alt-tabbing, and that doesn't work so well with GalCiv2; hence: window mode. But I can't seem to resize the window, it is square. (Other games with window mode, like Dominions 2, lets me at least drag the window to fit 99% of the screen - perfect!) Would it be possible to implement either window resizing or alt-tabbing which doesn't take more than 15 seconds?
I admit that I am a technical idiot, but this is the first forum I have ever visited where I seem to be having problems. My problem is that I have a hard time navigating what appears to be these simple boards. I can't seem to see new posts, (perhaps because of the incredible number of stickies??), and I can only find my own because of the "my posts" button top left. If I make a post, I won't even see it in the "recent posts" box to the left. I cannot find a way to sort posts nor to s
I notice that often, when I select the "save/load" button from the main menu, each saved game will appear exactly twice. Although this is just fairly annoying in itself (although it really does distract), one of those two games will not load when clicked on, so that one must always try to get the "right" one.
That sounds ok zubaz, if it could be an option which one could adjust or toggle. Personally, I would really like to know what all that tech DOES, especially since there is no mention of it in the manual.
Sorry, but when I examine the tech tree, after researching Space Weapons, I can see a whole bunch of Beam stuff to get, and likewise Armor which helps shield against that, but nowhere a mention of the other types of weaponry and armory. (Or is this an anomoly of the campaign?) thank you
Firstly, hats of to the dev team for doing a fine job! I've just had this game about 5 hours and am still eXploring it. But without wasting too much time and space, let me just get to the constructive criticism and first impressions: - The tech tree is extensive - but also overwhelming for the neophyte. It would be MOST appreciated if in the "Info Field" area, where you get to see what a tech does, the information given therein were to be some form of hyperlink or otherwise tool
Gustave: Where? Where will I see an update button? (I havent seen one yet.) Thank you very much.
Hello, I am still trying to DL galciv2 from stardock's servers after having purchased it on this site. I see that I can, in 4 different steps, DL the game, the tutorials, the movies, and the media. Sounds ok, if a lot and kind of slow. Yet nowhere do I see any "patch" that I am supposed to download. Am I completely dense, or where should I be getting that? Thank you!
