For the record leaving out "Colonise" was a bad idea, the "Colonise" abilities of the Capital Ships are different from both each other and the normal colony ship, for the Advent colonies created by the capital ship get cheaper and quicker planetary upgrades, for the Vasari orbital structures are built quicker, and i have yet to play the TEC so dont know what bonus they get.

I would just like to note that making frigates have half health\shields AND half weapon damage, would make absolutely no difference in battle length when frigates are fighting frigates (which is a lot of the time), similarly for cruisers, though cap ships would be significantly more powerful. for "faster kills" you should just drop the health/shields
For the record,No, Pirates dont attack your planets\units\structures, if they are merely crossing through your space on their way to attack someone elses systems (I have had Pirate fleets fly literally through the middle of my systems). As this is true, i would really like it so that you didnt attack them either, it annoyed me greatly that my planetary defenses kept destroying the pirates that i had just bribed to destroy my enemy
Personally my favourites "Ishkur" "Queztalcoatl" "Xipe Totec" "Ea" (the Deity not the company) "Gae Bulg" largely because they all make sense as an aside i wouldnt want to serve on any ship called the Naglfar, because i dont care if it can carry me to the battlefield of ragnarok its made of fingernails and toenails
I suddenly feel the need to defend Crysis, "system hog" implies that the game is wasting the power of your computer, Crysis definately doesnt, Crysis is by far the best anything will look on your computer. Additionally as long as you are only comparing graphics then yes it is fair to compare across genres, e.g CoH had better graphics than a great many of its contemporaries across all genres, but nothing looks as good as Crysis, and its not expected to (I will point out now that I play it with ev
I would imagine that the mechanic is designed around unlocked teams, so that you cant spread your culture through allied space and then have them completely screwed over when you decide that they need to die horrible deaths. The obvious thing is to make the mechanic different in locked team games, but that could be more hassle than its worth. Though personally I would prefer if culture just affected your allies as normal, I always quite liked "attacking" my allies with culture in other
Thanks for the quick response, to both of you. I will say that 1Gb seems surprisingly small, but I'm not complaining. It's probably a bad thing that I expect games to be 5Gb+ for no adequately explained reason.
I used the search function but couldnt find anything, so i was just wondering if there was going to be anysort of pre-load prior to "release" for pre-order customers? or whether you pre-order or not your in the same boat release day. and as an aside, how big is the retail download expected to be?
