no way to destroy old ships ? how to turn off production of a ship ?

Hi, I'm seeing the exact same problems as he is though. If I go to the design screen, and I make a modification to a design I made earlier, and I say "upgrade ships" (to modify the existing ones), suddenly all planets with starports start making that design... Maybe it's an option somewhere that I'm overlooking ? Nick
