Penalties are added same way as bonuses, just go to raceconfig.xml , and where you want the negative just insert it as -x% (x being the number of course) I know that, I was talking about with cos

It makes sense in an "actual" way, but it would make a GAME not as fun. Maybe when Stardock completely revamps the game so all you ever see is the "President's Briefing" every morning while talking to people about how the war is going badly, or well or whatever. THEN we can add dewsign costs. I'm not meaning to be flaming, I can see the OP's point, I just don't believe it would work out well. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_
Abundant Everything, fast tech and scattered stars. Makes a gigantic take FOREVER!
I wish you could set your leaning for a custom race, so if you research Xeno Ethics Early, you can pick that alignment for free. right now I'm good in a gigantic galaxy with Dreadlords on parade, but I'm still going for the conquest victory. Can't ever seem to be able to be diplomatic, I just like shooting things . although, I do Ally with a lot of player
I know you can reset the game with totally new layout(ctrl-n), but I don't think you can back to a specific map layout. Perhaps this would be a good suggestion for a tweak?
Not always. Sometimes "Upgrading" the building to a different type takes longer. I had that happen... but I can't remember with which two buildings...
Yeah, the Akilians declared war on me because I was "Parking transports" near them. When I finally found them, it was after another race surrendered to me and only when I had a ship with 3 sector range search for them. The AI gets VERY paranoid (when I'm not even within 4 sectors of their territory). However, I was near the Carinoids. Maybe theres an AI reaction mix up? And I was a good Terran Civ too... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Crying.gif" border=0 ALIGN="abs
Everything is great. I build all Galactic Acheivements every game. Not all Trade goods. But for those of use that don't bother with sensor pickets, the Eyes really are pretty cool. I likes them a lot!
Got through the first half... way too many things on here... One solution would be this... all Races have bonuses and penalties (a la MoO2). Take this Yor Diplomacy Penalty out from "under-the-hood" and put it out in the open. Allow players to disable some things to specialize in others. Of what need is production if I make so much money I can buy everything? Why do I need logistics when my ships are nigh on indestructible? Perhaps just addi
Oops. But still, if you get the Hyperion Fleet Manager, the filter would be nice for the finding and decomissioning/upgrading of all existing fleet managers.
I love what you folks at Stardock are doing. Keep on doing it! One complaint I have is in the manual. It says we can get a hyperion Fleet Manager which makes all planets automatically have a fleet manager. I have used the "Research All" cheat and I have not been able to build this. Was it accidentally left out? Also, I would appreciate maybe a "super Projects/Galactic Acheivements/ Trade Goods " list on the Civ Manager. This way you can find that silly manufacturing capital without having
Yo guys. I've been thinking of a few things that are cool in my mind. Some kind of new Sandbox scenario where "Dread Lords Strike" One player (AI OR HUMAN) is the Dread Lords. They start with all techs researched, a class 15 planet full of Industrial Sectors and a few ships. They may not colonize planets nor create fleets. Their goal is to kill everyone else, everyone else's goal is to kill them, at which time the game ends. Or an opti
As was mentioned the Ethic Alignment bonuses need to be tweaked. I was culturally dominating a gigantic galaxy where every single enemy planet within my sphere (more than half the planets in that sphere) was on the verge of insurection. I was Evil and bought the Mind Control Center, waiting for all of them to fall to me... and nothing happened. Very disappointing. And the way the frequency of revolts is calculated should be explained or something so

Alignment specific defenses (good) don't work yet. They'll fix this with the version 1.0X though, I believe. The Psionic Weapons (evil) are great though. Allows you to be done researching weapons way ahead of time.
Slider or Toggle would be great. I personally LOVE random crap happening. My Allies the Terrans got a Ranger, so I bought it from them for around 10,000 BC. And now, it kills everything, but it's so slow that my own researched and designed ships are faster, effectively better. reproductive rates, etc. I WANT MORE!!! So a toggler would be good, with this current default called "somewhat frequent"
What I was wondering... is there anyway to affect the possibility of these occurences maybe in a future release? Kinda like the way that you say anomolies are common, etc.?
We can lend the game out to people right? The first versions without any updates? Cause I know quite a few friends that love the 4x genre that can't afford a new game right now. I could let them play yhe earliest version and tell them that to get the updates they need to pay for the game. Will this work or will they still not buy the game? Hmmm....
Hi. I was playing most recently as an evil civ and I researched the superior weapons and they were great. So I decided to go for a Good civ to see the defenses. However, when I research Arnorian Armor, Telepathic Defence, and Subspace rebounder, the tech window (which usually shows what exactly this tech, would, or does, do for me) is blank. I research it but nothing new becomes available and none of my existing defensive technologies have an increased defensive value. Is this an oversight
How much information does the Metaverse receive from the player's PC? Some of these might not work if it doesn't log some info. Slow Poke- games that take longer than X years Flash - Games that are faster than X weeks Blitzkrieg- top x% of fast conquest victories or earliest turn someone attacked another player(and won, eventually) Chairman Mao- all games turned in remained at an Imperial Government Supreme Chancellor - in all games logged only advanced up to Interstell
3. Another idea: If you have a spy network, you can right click on a races planet and get specific information about that planet (i.e. ships in orbit/type, planet defenses, number of troops, completed social projects, current social and military builds). They have that already. Except it's left click. Just spend enough on espionage and you can see
The manual is on the menu when you launch the game. And you can access the tech tree when deciding what to research (well not quite the whole thing at once). So what's the problem? If you can't remember a password, that's not Stardock's problem. I'm not pissed at you personally, I just am pissed seeing all these topics around here that are resolved in the manual, or the site, or the readme, or the tutorials... I thought this was supposed to be the last resort? And yes, I am awaiting my box.
Bwahahaha. I live in EST AND I don't have work today. So guess what I'll be going... I'm thinking War Party political Faction, Evil Ethical Alignment, with alot of "Killing-you-guy" technology...
"...It's been incorrectly used for a time unit before (Han Solo, Star Wars)..." Actually in Star wars it meant that all the black holes near kessel warped space so he actually went less distance than anyone else. Skirts the blackholes, VERY closely. Anyone read the manual (obviously yes) The gigantic galaxy is truly massive. I can't wait...
