hehehe. i'm kinda burned out on games at the moment. i'm sure i'll be back to it in no time. once i'm working again i plan to pick up some new games. right now the top of my list is occupied by The Witcher, NWN 2, Sins and Civ 4. still looking for a good space battle sim, too.

sheesh KP, do you play any other (video) games?

i think the ship designer automatically scales the ship down to certain in-game dimensions when you make it bigger than it would be. so that might not be possible.

i agree, your ship designs are definately improving. i've been trying to find time to work on the ToE designs, but i'm moving, and it's taking up a lot of time.

i saw some random movie or show where someone used several army ants' mandibles as makeshift sutures to close a wound. inventive, but talk about the cure being worse than the disease.

ants are kinda scarry. for example... Ravoux's slavemaker ant ( Epimyrma ravouxi ) is a species of ant in the family Formicidae. It is endemic to France. The queen acts like she's dead, but she's really not. Then ants from another colony drag her back to their nests, and she wakes up and kills the "enemy" queen. She wraps herself in the dead queen's carapace, and begins produc

welcome talesine and cypher. a few words of advice: don't get into anyone else's supply of torian ale; always keep your teeth sharp; watch out for rosie clones.

Don't you mean King of Blades?
@Seth: nope, the leader of the Zerg (at least 'now' with the fall of the Overmind at the end of SC1) is Sarah Kerrigan, who gave herself the title "Queen of Blades". Which makes me think you haven't played StarCraft, to which I must say "OMG! Why Not! Go play it!!!" Sure, its 10 years old now, but graphics aren't that bad, and its balance is the stuff of legend.
+1. StarCraft is probably THE gold standard for real

indeed, major thanks to everyone, and i mean everyone, who's participated in this project. i also think Kryo deserves some thanks; even though we never got the MVL integration into the AltMeta done, he still helped us and advised us a great deal in what our options would be. i have to say it's been an honor to serve as the commissioner here. it was short, and i certainly became somewhat out of it over the past two months, but it was still very enjoyable. i'm glad i was able to offer s

but don't be shy of aiming high. aim low, you'll probably hit your mark. aim high, and the worst that might happen is you hit the mark you would've had you aimed low. i'll agree about the forum running, but i think in a few years you might not want to do that anyway. from what i've seen, i think you might enjoy doing art for video games. you seem very creative when you're interested in something, and with a bit of training in the arts i

well... SSD is still mostly hype IMHO, and AFAIK those 15k SAS drives aren't optimized for desktop/workstation applications (they're optimized for servers). so that much isn't surprising to me in the least. i'd also imagine the 'faster' feel of 64-bit has a lot to do with Vista caching files as you use them. but as far as 64-bit computing goes, one thing i've been really interested in trying out is a RAM disk (..."what's a loading screen?"). 16GB of DDR2 is a possibility on P45-based
Over in your empire thread you were talking about baked goods on Weeds...
ooohhh LOL. i didn't mean to suggest i'd be making "special" pastries (which is freaking expensive), just that i wanted to cook.
