Dear All, I posted this at another forum but this thread seems to be the place "... I've had 2 huge WINXP SP2 crashes within the last 6 months where on boot the error is that Explorer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. In each case there were 72 faulting modules and they were every important system DLL Windows needs to run. Hi, Slight disagreement with Wizop Corky O about Ati Radeon X700 Pro (256 mb DDR3)running any of the 5.1x drivers. Full transparency - no problems but at near full transparency the start menu with many skins often shows black or a base colour when you highlight Log Off, Turn Off, All Programs or any of the menu items on the Start Menu. Once you get to the actual Program Items off the All programs menu the highlighted items display correctly.

The article is unfortunate in effectively characterising WB5 as an application that allows WinXP to have Vista Glass. For my two cents I wonder if Stardock makes screen shots available to reviewers like those I see in Large Preview mode -which point out the extent of the customisation - glow, animations, custom toolbars. Had to install a new hard drive and WinXP. What a bland, uninteresting and boring desktop I saw. A quick reinstall of WB5, load a skin and voila! -the magic was back. What a great reminder of how much pleasure and enjoyment the WB desktop brings. WindowBlinds 5 Beta ~ Loaded Startup Files in WindowBlinds WinCustomize Forums

Frogboys Preview notes were helpful but I'd like to check that the following config is correct for WB 5 Beta 1. Wbload.exe does not now load as per the notes. System.ini shows that the MCP Client - mcpstub.dll does load as well as a file called wbsrv.dll. Is this correct? I ask as I thought the stub program was not going to be required by WB5. I've scoured through these forums and it is surprising how often this file "dxaxhost.dll" appears in error messages. It is almost invariably linked to the faulting application being one of the Object Desktop executables It's a real pain that it affects one of the major applications within Object Desktop. DX Widget.exe - It's not happy in DesktopX WinCustomize Forums

Booted up and got an error message about dxwidget.exe. Event Viewer says: "Faulting application dxwidget.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module dxaxhost.dll, version 2.0.0.0, fault address 0x0002221b." Uninstalled DesktopX 3, cleared user cache, cleaned registry and startup. Re boot and reinstall DesktopX. When I tried to run it I still got the same error. Repeating the above uninstall/reinstall didn't resolve the issue. I hadn't updated any
