This is great. Fixes the cursors dissapearing when you switch users in XP. Just what I've been waiting on. (that and the cool trails)

Ran Telegard for awhile, then Renegade, Finally moved to Proboard for the last couple of years that I was into BBSing. I truly enjoyed hanging on BBSes, there are still a couple that I call. Being that I am on a 56k connection (usually around 49.2), the old ansi stuff flies compared to the web. Most of what I did was messaging and doors anyhow. Every once in awhile I will restore my BBS from tape and play LORD for a couple of days just for fun. Ran a board strictly telnet for a cou
As far as skinning goes, it depends on how easy it is to use for the normal run of the mill joe. Look how hugely popular the windows "theme" sites are. THAT stuff is easy. If it becomes that easy to skin windows, then it will become mainstream. If WB were something that MS shipped with XP, it would probably happen, but as long as it still takes a 3rd-party app, it might get big, but not quite as mainstream.
Orion and Davidk are both pretty much on it. The other big thing is honesty. Been married going on 14 years now and that has been the biggest thing that keeps us together. Oh, yeah, and that the man is always wrong :>
hmm. That was weird. All I did was put in 95/98/and the one that comes after. oops
You can also do it in ME in the registry. Don't remember the exact key but I have always enabled this on my 95/98/ME machines. Search the MS KB, you are bound to find something.
I think it must have to do with the people who run the site
notepad. yes. check out the xpstuff.xp in the xpcopper directory for an example.
That's pretty much what I had decided. Just had to think that sometimes I have had to go a couple of months with no access at all, would be pretty pissed if it happened to me. thx
from theme authors. I ported an Enlightenment theme awhile back to several applications. I have been trying to locate the author for several weeks to get permission to release it, to no avail. No contact info at themes.org, and the webmaster has none for him either. Basically the question is, do I upload the skins and take them down if he asks, or just blow it off and keep them private? I know a few of you frequent some of the linux sites as well, it is the creator of the MorphiusX e-the
Boxxi, sorry, didn't notice until this morning that you had replied. trillian is another chat program like icq, aim, except that it supports icq, aim, yahoo, msn, as well as irc chat. (and skinnable of course). I tried lot's of clonesand wasn't really satisfied with them till i found this one. Also lets you use multiple identities withing each medium.
I appreciated the email link though . What's the storage capacity for an email account at yahoo anyway?
At least I know what I will be doing this weekend.
If you have your reg number, you can download Component Manager from http://www.objectdesktop.net and DL all of your apps. If not, email Stardock.
don't worry. most of the people dumb enough to actually fall for it are the ones that can't figure out DX anyway and badmouth it in reviews.
png files can be created in most graphics programs. Just make sure that you save them as .png. As far as animations in DX, they are really just frames stitched together horizontally. Check out some of the zoomers for a few good examples. Most of them use two bmp's or png's. One normal one, usually one frame. the other gets displayed upon mouseover. Say for instance it's ten frames. You have to make sure that each frame is the same size, as well as being the same size that the static (one fr
The way I understand it is that the cmd console in nt/2000/xp is a windows protected program, even though it is 32bit, still can't do anything with it.
It is designed for NT/2000/XP. It will run under 98/ME, but very sluggishly. Source code is also available for DL, perhaps something could be done about that.
If you are wanting to customize the entire dos window, try econsole. Transparent, or bmp background, allows windowblinds to fully skin it, or have no borders at all. you can DL it at http://www.cs.uni-frankfurt.de/~corion/econsole/
If you have objects such as bars or meters that depend on placement on the screen, it can prove to be difficult. I tried making my last upload multi-res, it is close, but still requires user intervention after a screen resize. What I seem to end up doing when I dl something is change to whatever res' that I think I will use, edit the theme, and save it under a completely seperate name. Sorry if this isn't much help.
Chris, Nextstart and DX work pretty well together. I set NS to my left and middle click, and keep the DX right click. I did try NS awhile back using the default right click, and it kept the focus, but I seem to remember having a few problems (older version of DX and NS though).
not that many ppl that do have it as a hobby know how to get it up (time/skills to maintain their own lil sites etc) nor do they get the hobby w/o first finding out about these things that they learn from the Bigger Sites that are falling. so my prediction is......... more ppl will flock to the beaches and zoos! hehe net will be dominated by commercials & money making garbage.
