That did it. I'm in the game.
I just installed DirectX 9c. I get the game loaded and pick my opponents, galaxy size, etc. Then during galaxy cration the game dies with a "buffer overrun" error. I have an SMP box but other than that it should be a pretty standard setup. Did you try tools->check for updates?
Try playing as humans.
That's normal.
Works if I play as human. But non-human it's having problems.
