I'm a little confused on one thing, however -- is this second expansion for GalCiv 2 a free update then? For as wonderful as you folks at Stardock are, I confess I find it hard to believe even you'd do that for us! Nope, the Expanded Universe won't be a free update (but it won't cost an arm or a leg either).

I believe the scale info is correct and Sins handles this quite fluidly. You can see it in-game when you zoom in - if you follow a phase lane with your camera, it takes forever to reach the destination (i.e., another planet). However, as you zoom out, the speed increases and the same trip takes much less time. It's actually pretty cool. Jarod - You'll need to wait for the demo version.&nb
Stardock's own intrepid leader and designer of the Galactic Civilizations series, Brad Wardell, spent some time with Gamasutra recently for a new interview, published today. Within Brad gives a history of Stardock, the various games the company's worked on, the creation of TotalGaming.net, and some tidbits on where Galactic Civilizations II goes from here. Check it out at: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news
In February 2008, Stardock will be publishing its first third-party game called Sins of a Solar Empire. Sins is currently under development by Ironclad Games and mixes some of the turn-based aspects of titles like Galactic Civilizations II, with the real-time strategy genre. Today IGN.com has published an interview with Ironclad Games' Blair Fraser on Sins of a Solar Empire. The six page article goes into some fantastic detail on the current state of development,
Hi RoPa - Sorry for the trouble you've been having. We've run into some issues on our end that we've since resolved. Please set SDC to US-1 (or US-2) and make sure that Show pre-release versions is not checked. You should be able to download DA and the Heightmaps as expected.
Greetings, I'm unable to reproduce this locally. Please make sure you have any anti-virus, firewalls, or anti-spyware software turned off during the installation/download. Sometimes these programs will lock the .sdc file and cause a failure. Also, for the time being, please make sure that Show pre-release versions isn't checked in Stardock Central (it'll be at the bottom). If you still have trouble, please email [email protected] &n
This message was sent to all GalCiv II customers as far as I'm aware. We have no way to making the distinction of who bought the original game digitally vs. who bought it at retail. It is implied by listing the above retailers and by the nature of rebates (which always require at least a UPC bar code from a physical box), that you would need a boxed version of the original game to make use of this offer. Our apologies if you misunderstood this, but the rebate timeframe has now expired regardless
I would send the information to the address from www.allrebates.com . The various addresses are how the rebate company tracks things on their end.
GameShark.com has chosen Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar as their Game of the Week! Here's an excerpt of what they had to say: For extending an already wonderful franchise and doing it with plenty of polish and style, Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar earns the right to be named GameShark's Game of the Week! No announcements yet for European sales of GalCiv II: Gold Edition. This is something we're currently looking into. If it happens, the game will be localized for several languages (except the FMV).
We're self-publishing GalCiv 2 Gold, it's just that Take 2 is our distributor, so many retailers don't take notice of that and list them as the publisher too.
Im from the uk , will there be any way of buying the expansion pack in the shops even as part of a package with the main game id gladly do that . Or will i just have to pester my parents into using the old fashioned credit card . Thanks . GalCiv II: Gold Edition is currently set for release at retail in North America from Stardock Entert
The Gold Edition of GalCiv II will be available in North America at retail for $39.95 at various retailers including: Gamestop / EB Games, Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry's Electronics and others. It will contain both GalCiv II and Dark Avatar, plus include a hotkey fold-out card and a vastly updated game manual (nearly 100 pages). If you've already bought GalCiv II at retail, you can make use of a $10 mail-in rebate that's included in the box. The rebate is valid until April 15, 2007 if
Hi all, Paradox has been made aware of this issue. If you're running into this issue, please contact their tech support directly and they'll get you sorted out: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=304
Receipts don't really help at all. Please email me at [email protected] with the serial number you have and I'll be able to tell you if it's been registered previously. Also, if these copies were sold in Europe, then you should contact Paradox Interactive for support, as they are the European publisher of GalCiv II.
Today is your last chance to gain access to the Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar beta test! Re-opened by popular demand, we will stop accepting new beta testers today at 4:30pm ET. If you miss this window, you'll have to wait until Dark Avatar's release.
It doesn't. Stardock Central's giving you a dialog about your account expiring? What SDC version do you have?
Nope. For those who don't like RTS's traditionally, you may enjoy Sins. I prefer turn-based strategy myself, but find Sins to be a nice change from the mouse click frenzy that most RTS' require. One of the cool things is that space is vast and Sins takes that into account. You're not just going to zip from one world to another instantly, travelling takes time. That gives you lots of options to think things through. BTW - Sins is now available for pre-order th
Sins will support up to 10 players in multiplayer via Internet or LAN.
Hi all, Okay, a few wrap up points to questions I saw: 1) The version available from TotalGaming.net does not contain StarForce. 2) If you purchased the retail version you cannot register through Stardock Central. You'll need to re-purchase the game from TotalGaming.net. 3) The demo version will run for 2-years of in-game time. It is not limited by actual "real-life" time, so you can replay it if you want. I've played it several times and got 1-3 hours out of i
Hi Achillus, You'll need to either check out the official Space Rangers 2 website at http://www.spacerangers2.com or email their tech support at: [email protected] Hope this helps.
I agree that Stardock should give notice to stores though not to resell the game since it isnt transferrable in that sense. So if you own other SD software on the Galciv2 account you have to sell that too. For the record, we have informed the stores that registered copies aren't transferrable (several times in fact).
Your video and sound drivers are quite old. Try updating them to see if that helps.
